Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I stayed here for our last 2 nights in Zanzibar.
We did not have much luggage so not a problem to walk from the taxi drop off through small lane to the hotel though it was in the middle of a thunderstorm so were soaked
Hotel staff were very helpful and quickly took us to a large comfortable room with small balcony overlooking the pool area.
The location was ideal as we could walk easily to most places in Stone Town.
The food in the restaurant was very nice on the first night but service was chaotic on the second night and we had to wait over an hour for our food
Though the cost was deducted from our final bill.
We will probably stay at this hotel again on our next visit to Zanzibar

The restaurant staff specifically, Christopher Ngossi and Charles Ngera who seem to work 16hours a day are respectfull, observant and most efficient. My sister and I found both of them to be alert to all their clients needs. The chef, Nassor Massoud , is a bright light explaining/describingZanzibari foods. He even cooked a just fallen breadfruit a client was holding. What a memorable exerience he offered guests. The meticulous young woman who takes care of the restaurant and pool area is extremely attentive and seems to never stop cleaning. There are also two most accomodating young women who prepare our eggs just as we ask, and with a smile.
Unfortunatley we only used the restuarant before dark as each night they lit the tekki lamps with fuel or whatever it was that caused both of us to get headaches.
We thought it would be nice if the restaurant offered fish fry nights
but even more importantly local music. We certainly don't come here to listen to elevator music as it sometimes the case.
I would also like to ask hotel owners to be aware that your housekeeping staff are forced to carry heavy items up and down the corridors ...get them a hotel trolley be kind.

Antonio Garden Hotel was my first stop on this trip to Zanzibar. It was my fifth time in Zanzibar but the first time for a friend.

We were greeted by the most cheerful and vibrant manager, Salim Issa. We arrived a bit earlier than the check in time, placed our luggage at the counter and went for breakfast. When we came back, Salim helped us get connected locally and showed us to our room. Whenever I needed anything, Salim was always happy to assist. The next day, we had the hotel’s breakfast and it was very fulfilling.

Everything around Antonio Garden is within walking distance including Forodhani Gardens, the old Fort, Darajani Market and most of Stonetown’s famous restaurants.

Also, I believe that the prices charged including breakfast are very fair for the 2 nights we stayed at Antonio Garden. I would definitely stay with them again on my next visit to Stonetown.

Asante sana and see you next time!

The facilities were great. The room was good, clean and spacious. The view was good over the small streets of stone town. It was nice to sit on the little patio on the walkway on the third floor where we lived. I liked the restaurant with its swing chairs at the bar and the cosy feeling that remained all around the hotel. We didn't try the pool. Looked like the sunchairs might run out quite quickly but since we didn't use it I don't know if it became crowded.

Easy checkin with a delicious hibiscus juice welcome drink. Good breakfast buffe.

In our room hey refilled the water 2 times a day and made up the bed and put up and down the mosquitonet and it all felt smooth. It is located perfectly in the middle of stone town.

Our toilet broke down the first day but they managed to find a guy who fixed it within 15 minutes. The shower door was installed wrong so it wasn't possible to actually close it. All in all we adored this hotel and our stay.

Central location, with nice garden/small pool/bar restaurant area, with free sunbeds and pool towels.
Average breakfast included and restaurant (at a charge)
Booking a 2 nights stay about 2 months in advance, we ask for a double room in a TRANQUIL position, NOT ground floor and they replied they took notes.
Then they gave us a ground floor room, the closest to the hotel/garden/reception/spa entrance, so very noisy all the day/night long.

A nice clean hotel, with friendly and efficient reception staff. The small pool garden with restaurant is pleasant, but there's loud music playing all day long. We had to ask if they could turn the music down a bit during breakfast this morning - the young staff weren't too happy at our request. Hello, who's the paying customer? Stone Town is dusty, dirty, hot, choking with traffic. The hotel provides a haven from the chaos outside its walls, IF they keep the music volume reasonable. It's a bit much when hotel guests need to ask for peace from noisy hotel staff! Our double room was pleasant, smallish, clean with very efficient AC. Breakfast was good, with tasty omelettes made on the spot, and delicious coffee. We have given an average rating for service due to the restaurant din, but would have liked to given good (reception and cleaning staff).

We arranged to stay in the hotel via Booking.com. It was not the best arrival as our taxi driver from the airport hadn’t a clue where it was so we parked up a side alley and walked for about 10 mins. However upon arrival we knew we had made a great choice. This hotel offers a great safe, clean space to relax in after a hot morning walk around the narrow streets of Stone Town. The food was acceptable but what made it so great for us was the pool and attitude of the staff which was just brilliant. The bed was absolutely the best of three hotels we chose in our trip around Zanzibar. Would highly recommend this hotel if you plan to spend some days in Stone Town, which is a great little place to explore you never get really lost as there’s always a street that leads to the market, the sea or Jaws corner.

I order food and I specified that I don’t want specific ingredients inside due to the fact that I’m allergic. I made sure that the waiter understood me. When I received my food after one hour, first of all it was cold and when I was about to eat I saw all the ingredients that I told him to remove .... when I called him and I showed him the food, his reaction was sorry I forgot to tell it to the chef ... the people that they work here and the service that they provide is simple atrocious !!!

This hotel provides phenomenal value for anyone looking to stay in Stonetown.
Thankyou especially to the manager Salim, who provided unmatched service during our stay, and took care of our large group.

The hotel has great breakfast service, a pool and shaded area, and great views of the rest of Stonetown. Most rooms have balconies as well. For those with mobility issues, there is an elevator, which was very helpful. As a side note, anyone complaining about this hotel is probably not a good hotel guest in general.
I hope to visit again one day!

We stayed for 4 days at this hotel. Our room was nice and comfortable and the a/c was refreshing. The complimentary water is not always filled up unless you specifically ask. The breakfast is really good, except for the coffee (I'd suggest bringing your own or grabbing some at a coffee shop if you love your java). The front desk staff were sometimes clueless, wanting to charge us again for money we had already paid them on the website.
The swimming pool was good.
