While it's not the swankiest hotel in stone town it provides the bare minimum. The hotel is split into two buildings sitting side by side. There is always two people watching the place by 24 hrs and and requires a key to enter the building and then another key to enter your own room. The hotel is very simple. Staff...

Hiliki House provides a very good value for money to stay a couple of nights and explore Stone Town. Situated just steps away from the beach and market, it is very convenient to walk anywhere. Rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated and the living room area is gorgeous with big windows and nice lounge areas set up. This is also...

Hiliki House is a good place to stay in a nice quiet area just a short walk to the beachfront and sites such as Darajani bazaar, the old fort and the palace museum. We felt safe walking around at night. The rooms were a decent size, comfortable, and had a great colonial feel and the female staff (cleaners and kitchen...

We stayed at the recommendation of the Lonely Planet and were not disappointed. Rooms were lovely and breakfast was good. The whole house was very well refurbished and the sitting room was a lovely communal airy room. The manager/owner is very helpful and provided us with a map and helped with booking a snorkelling trip. A great place for a...

This hotel is lovely. Our room was beautifully decorated and very quiet. The staff were helpful and assisted us with booking excursions/onward travel. The breakfast is good and served in one of the breezy upstairs rooms. Thoroughly recommend staying here.

We arrived in Zanzibar and straight away moved to Hiliki house after reading some reviews. I was impressed by the owner's willingness to take care of our needs. He was very welcoming and offered us a map that helped to facilitate our tour. The rooms are neat and clean. It is a place worth visiting!!

Stone Town is really a small place where you can walk from one side to another within 15 minutes, so it's centrally located. But the real deal is, Hiliki's location on the silent part of the Stone Town i'd say. Also staff was really helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend it.

We found the Hiliki house through Lonely Planet. Their enthusiastic description made us go for it. In a quiet area, with a lovely common room and well equipped bedrooms. Unfortunately the mosquito nets are a necessity, but water and plumbing was working well. The owner arranged for our local driver license as well as a car to rent and was...

One of the most beautiful places we stayed in Zanzibar! This is an amazing value for the cost! Excellent breakfast each day and truly beautiful rooms. It was quite peaceful here and the manager was incredibly helpful. If you are a solo traveler and don't feel comfortable walking by yourself at night in Stonetown, I would not recommend this. We...
