Very peaceful boutique oasis in the middle of busy Stone Town.
The design is classy and comfortable. The rooms have high ceilings and cool with lots of little extra touches that make the stay easy such as coffe and kettle / water in the room.

There are daily chef specials on the menu if you just want to relax at the hotel.

During my recent visit to Stone Town, I had the pleasure of staying at "Sharazad Wonders," and I must say, it truly lives up to its name. This enchanting boutique hotel offers a delightful blend of Arabian and modern aesthetics, making it a remarkable experience from start to finish.

The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. I found my accommodations to be both comfortable and inviting. The attention to detail and the quality of furnishings are nothing short of remarkable, ensuring a peaceful and restful night's sleep.

One of the highlights of Sharazad Wonders is its prime location right in the heart of Stone Town. From here, you can easily explore the historic city's enchanting streets, markets, and cultural treasures. It's an ideal base for any traveller looking to immerse themselves in the rich heritage and vibrant atmosphere of Zanzibar.

The restaurant serves a tantalising selection of dishes that fuse local flavours with international influences.

Last but not least, the staff truly make you feel welcome. They are not only professional but also warm and attentive. Their ever-present smiles and willingness to assist with any request added a personal touch to my stay, making me feel like a valued guest.

Stayed for Christmas Day.
Building and our room was renovated to a high standard. The owners have great style and taste. Stayed in room 6 which was huge with giant bed and extra single. A/C was very welcome. Staff were all really accommodating and enabled us to drop off luggage and use an empty room to change in before our check in time. Great location. Definitely recommend.

Amazing small hotel with really nice rooms and friendly staff. Food was delicious and the cook even prepared early dinner when we had to leave for the airport. We would definitly recommend. Only downside (but not their fault): our room was facing the street and there where children playing football until midnight which made it hard to sleep. Other than that: amazing!

I went for what I hoped would be a romantic meal in the restaurant with my partner. It was a disappointing experience. At first I was seated on a bench at much lower level than my partner. Luckily we were able to change table to be able to sit at same level. Service was poor. Although only a couple of people were eating, my request for salt and pepper were forgotten and I had to enter the bar to find someone to remind them of the request. Although the seafood was advertised as fresh, both the octopus (starter) and Kingfish (main course) were overcooked by the chef. Toilets and bathrooms were not maintained properly.
Overall, we had high expectations but a poor experience. I visit Zanzibar monthly and there are many better restaurants at much lower prices (for example 14k TSH for a Kilimanjaro beer- for those of you who know the normal price). Disappointing.

This place is wonderful. Beautiful atmosphere with great food, great coffee and the staff is always friendly and helpful. We came late for breakfast one day and the staff made us breakfast items off menu. 5 stars for sure, highly recommended

We had lunch in this nice Restaurant in the center of Stone Town. The place itself isn't bad but it lacks vibe, no views, no music, except for some children nearby making deafening noise. The food, for what it costs, is absolutely not exceptional.
36,000 for a Risotto I was expecting something superlative, but instead it arrived overcooked, it looked like glue and not very tasty. My wife had a beef Burger, which frankly was barely edible. Perhaps today the Chef was in his day off and there was an inexperienced one in the kitchen. We won't be back.
Staff: nothing special. In these 18 days of vacation we have seen much better and professional.

Very disappointed..
Great location,
Staff at the restaurant is very nice and welcoming but the hotel is not THAT good.. here are my impressions:
1. Apparently they make you pay if you stay in double occupancy! That is what happened to us due to a booking error (and not clear when booked), I was of course ok to pay for additional breakfasts but that was not even the point! They make you pay the fact that you are 2 in the room (never seen that in 10 years of hospitality business!), not willing to understand our point and no gesture.
2. Very noisy as in the middle of the old town..
3. Food was very good except that my boyfriend ordered a shrimp risotto and the smell of the shrimps was SO strong he could not eat the dish. He told them and they charged us anyway! (Even the person at the next table told us about the smell)
4. We could hear ALL night long small insects eating the ceiling (made of wood)
Will definitely not come back, second time we come over as we love Zanzibar but the price doesn’t worth it at this hotel. And of course we will not recommend it to our friends.

We are so happy that we didn't meet your expectation. To answer your first question, we charge our guests for the number of people, correct, wither single/ double or triple room. This is standard procedure at least in Zanzibar. Stone Town ins full of authentic small town sounds, like the prayer calls five times per day, and we try to communicate this to our guests. We are sorry that this was not communicated properly. We will definetely follow up on the other issues you have brought up we hope you had a pleasant rest of the stay in Zanzibar. All the best.

Gorgeous spot, centrally located with a warm and welcoming team. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the included breakfast is delicious and filling. The room is spacious with a well-appointed bathroom and thoughtfully provided with a robe, beach hat and basket, towels, rain umbrella… everything you need for a lovely home base in Stone Town.

We had a lovely time staying here. The property is very centrally located in Stone Town, and within walking distance of major attractions. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the service staff was extremely hospitable and friendly. Highly recommend!
