Positive:
Location cant be better, in the middle of Stone Town, just steps from everything. Room was quite spacious with balcony, well equipped, and quite clean. Staff is kind and helpful, view from the roof pool is so nice. Breakfast is good, with many type of food and drink. Good value for price!

Negative: The pool is small, but it's not the main problem. There are just 4 sunbeds, one is broken, so just 3 usable. There is space for much more, so I don't understand, why can't be extended this facility. There are no umbrellas or any shadow on the rooftop, when the sun shines, you can't stay there more than 30 minutes. So, if you expect for a nice place, where you can relax after a sightseeing, you will be dissapointed. It's fine for refreshing and chill a bit, but not more.
Breakfast is good, but the waitress asked me about the eggs, when I finished my breakfast. I don't understand, because I was the only one guest at this time in the restaurant, and she saw my arrival....

This is a place to really feel at home, the rooms are large and comfortable and the hotel staff really care about their guests. Lovely pool and roof top terrace. An easy walk to all Stonetown activities, accessible by car.
I will be back, thank you all.

Rooms are spacious and well equipped - big and comfortable bed with mosquito net, closet, table, chair, fridge and water, towels, soap, shampoo, balcony (rarely used by us due to the view we disliked). There was a smell in our room that we were not sure where it was coming from and the shower sink did't remove water well. Nice roof terrace with the pool. Helpful staff. Located next to the fortress, close to the park and center. There is a noise from the street early in the morning. Restaurant is offering local dishes for breakfast, little suitable for us who are used to European cuisine.

Im a tour operator who fell for the star rating of this hotel - Forodhani Park is advertised on all platforms as a 4 * hotel , but its a 3 * in reality - with stained flooring , mildewed smelling rooms , fridges not maintained and smelly , and avery average breakfast .

I booked 15 people at this hotel for 2 nights thinking it was a 4 * hotel . They were most unhappy and dissatisfied with the service and rooms . The receptionist said he could do nothing about the situation , and the hotel manager refused to show up at the hotel for the 2 full days that we were at the hotel .

The location was not bad , but we were clearly short changed and fooled by this hotel management obviously only so that they could charge us a higher 4 * rate .

Almost like thievery and dishonesty .

What a waste of money for a stay in stone town. The hotel is old, washroom pathetically dirty with rusted taps, room furniture old and not maintained. Our locker in the room didn’t work and even after repeated requests it was not repaired. We were given a choice to move to alternative room but they were of smaller size and with equally dirty washrooms. The breakfast is poor quality for the price paid and served in an open lobby without air conditioning. The hotel has not been renovated over the years and is now dirty. There was no hospitality professional and all issues were managed by a receptionist. Staff was not qualified, I’ll trained and definitely underpaid. Service was pathetically slow. Keep away as the online marketing and pictures of the hotel are misleading. We were a family with two kids and the kids were totally disgusted with the dirt in the room, washroom and over old furniture. Multiple complains were shamelessly ignored. The hotel is not even worth USD 50 a night. The worst experience in our post pandemic international travel.

A character hotel with good sized rooms in a central location in Stone Town. We had three rooms, each well appointed with good air con. It can be a bit noisy, but that is what you expect in a location like this and while there are no specific views, it has a nice atmosphere. We would stay here again.

Everything in the hotel was brilliant. The staff were excellent especially Ebrahim Hashim, AbdulHamid and Nassor Said who went above and beyond to help in every way. The place made it really safe for 3 women travellers, the place is really safe. It is also close to all the local attractions, we used to be at the Forodhani promenade until 11pm. I would definitely stay there again and I recommend staying there as makes your trip a lovely experience.

The hotel is across from Forodhani Gardens is in the centre of the action. The room is vintage in decor, very spacious, with a large comfortable and bed . The shower was also very vintage, but powerful, with lots of hot water. We enjoyed the hotel, room, and staff. Unfortunately, there was a marathon during our stay, so there was loud music in the gardens and Fort most of the night. But this was an exception and nothing against the hotel.

We slayed at this hotel for almost two weeks. It is next to water front and one can enjoy the beautiful evenings at water front without loss of time. Further, one can make frequent visits in the streets of Stone houses. The Manager Mr. Abdullah was very helpful. He was always out to help us in any matter from finding a taxi or any other assistance needed. As one is next to the coast, a boat could be easily find to visit Prison Island. All sort of restaurants are next to the hotel Hotel itself offers good breakfast.

This is ideal in terms of location. Near to various attractions and opposite the old Fort.
Walking distance from foordhani Gardens which hosts lots of market stalls each evening selling a huge selection of foods and drinks including sugar cane juice grilled sea food, pizzas and schwarmas.
