I had researched a number of hotels but settled on this one as we wanted something special for our wedding anniversary. The hotel was very quiet in January with only 12 guests. Our rooms were beautiful and we had a verandah which faced the sea. Pool was great, as was the food. Service outstanding. I swam very happily at the...

We were only there for one night, but I have to say that the Serena Inn Stone Town was wonderful. It’s centrally located (yet still on the water) so it’s easy to go anywhere from the the hotel. It’s also easy to find your way back, even through the winding streets. The key elements that I liked: - Great water...

After the flight to Zanzibar, all you want to do is get by the water and relax. We stopped at the Serena Inn for lunch and relaxation by the ocean. It was beautiful. The staff was wonderful and friendly and the open air restaurant was perfect to enjoy food and drinks. I recommend stopping here after a tour of the...

A very short stay at the Serena but loved every minute of it. Wonderful staff - super comfy room and delicious food I had breakfast in bed as i had an extremely late flight into Zanzibar the previous night and scrambled eggs and fresh juice was a welcome start. The fresh mango was out of this world. The staff were...

My wife and I stayed at Zanzibar Serena for 3 nights at the end of our 3 week vacation in Tanzania and Zanzibar. The quality of service at this hotel is second to none! We arrived at this hotel looking for open rooms last minute. The place we had previously booked wasn't suitable to our needs. The front desk staff...

Middle of town so can view easily on foot the place and its great historic interest. Good rooms and staff all friendly as with other Serena hotels. Food was very good and pool area adequate for sun bathing. We were driven to beech 30 min away which was disappointing and would not do again. Probably 3 nights enough but pleasant...

We stayed at this Hotel for 3 days in a downstairs suite with a fantastic balcony. Nice room and friendly people. There was some noise from the local youth playing football on the beach every evening. Breakfast was great lots of choices. Dinner buffet was also good. The seafood restaurant was nice place but the food and the service left...

Stayed at the Serena in Stone Town recently for two nights. It is well situated and the concierge (big Joe) was particularly helpful. It is iconic of the era from which it was built so not sure you could call it modern, however, great facilities, lovely breakfast buffet - welcoming pool and great views from the room which had a...

This hotel is in the middle of the city, near the markets, easy walks around. On the beach. The food is very good, service is amazing, sit on the decks and have drinks of your choosing. Get a room that faces the water. All are different which makes it special. Beautiful wooden floors with cool breezes blowing in through the...

This is a beautiful modern hotel, located right on the ocean. It has an extremely helpful, friendly staff. We stayed in room 16 on Sept 18, 19, 2016. The room overlooks the Indian Ocean. It is furnished with interesting items, and was quite comfortable. There is a beautiful pool directly overlooking the Indian Ocean. The food was excellent, the best...
