The lodge is an old mill - a very beautiful place. The rooms are beautifully decorated with lovely artefacts but also very well equipped. The place is spick and span. The garden is a haven for wild life and humans looking for quietness. We saw 2 owls and deers just next to the garden. We can see a lot of care is given to this place. The countryside in which it's nested is worth walks. It's close to Amble and Alnwick, easy to go there for a day shopping or visiting the many castles of the area. The hostess, Karen, is a well of local knowledge and has great tips for off-the-beaten track visits. Very helpful as well, she is a lovely person and it was a pleasure to meet her. A wonderful place for a couple, friends, adults for sure who enjoy the countryside. The outdoor area is as quaint and well equipped as the house itself, with all the comfort someone can wish. We hope to go back to Karen's lodge and we warmly recommend it.

A lovely spotlessly clean quirky cottage set in such a peaceful area, although not far from many of Northumberlands attractions/restaurants. Karen’s restaurant recommendations were really good especially the Cook and Barker Inn at Newton on the Moor. Karen was such a friendly and helpful host.

We recently had 5 wonderful days staying in Hare cottage at Mill House. From the minute we walked through the front door, we knew this promised to be all that we could have wished for in a 5* holiday cottage. The decor, furnishings and comfort have been done to a 'boutique' standard ! Every detail has been thought through, from fresh flowers to a welcome hamper of essentials. The beds are very comfortable with crisp white bed linen, comfy pillows. The bathroom with walk in shower and bath was huge with fluffy white towels! If it had been in the summer, we could have used a private garden area with loungers. The backdrop of large trees and lawned area are beautiful and home to a variety of wildlife. To sum up this review, we would say that we will definitely be booking to go back to this tranquil, beautiful part of Northumberland. The owner made us feel so welcome, we felt she wanted our 5 days to be memorable by suggesting local places to visit, coffee shops, restaurants etc. We'll done Karen 👏

Hare Lodge is a stunning property in an amazing location. We had such a fantastic stay blessed with gorgeous weather. The property is so comfortable and luxurious and the welcome items left by Karen were a lovely touch. Karen was a fantastic host with nothing being too much trouble. She was on hand if we needed anything and gave us some great local recommendations. The lodge is just off the A1 and in a great spot for exploring Northumberland. We loved coming back to the peaceful lodge at the end of the day away from the busyness of the coast. We would highly recommend Hare Lodge and so glad we found it!

Well - where do we begin? Karen has thought of absolutely everything 👍 Such a wonderful welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the beautiful Mill house - gorgeous decor and luxury quirky accommodation. Only 15 mins drive to Alnwick with its castle, bookstores and excellent restaurants and the beautiful Northumberland coastline. Well worth the 300 mile drive and will definitely be back! Cheers Karen 👏.

Milk House is literally perfect. It’s location is superb, the decor, comfort and cleanliness are all outstanding and this is clearly due to Karen’s attention to detail and obvious care for her property and guests. There is not one aspect of our stay that could be faulted and we would love to visit again. Karen’s helpful recommendations about places to visit and eat were all brilliant and further added to a fantastic break. If you are heading to Northumberland then this is the place to stay!!

We booked this cottage because it is located conveniently for everything that we wanted to visit during our mini-break in the North East and also because of the sparkling reviews. Even having read those reviews and seen the photos on Tripadvisor we were blown away by the place when we got here. It is set in gorgeous remote countryside which is teeming with wildlife and yet it is only 5 minutes from the A1 and the coast road. The building is very tastefully decorated and superbly equipped. We had everything we needed for our stay and a bit more. Karen the owner is charming and helpful and flexible and very knowledgeable and seems to have a perfect grip on how to be there whenever you need her and yet be totally out of the way at all other times. We absolutely loved it here and when we visit the North East again we won't even consider staying anywhere else.
