When planning our trip to Peru we initially were not thinking about the rainforest. Our travel company in Cusco suggested and set it up for us. Even after a good bit of research though it was hard to get a bead on what to expect. The trip to Wasai Tambopata Lodge was fantastic! You are assigned a guide upon your...

Starting from Wasai Puerto Maldonado a boat drove us and some other guests to the Tambopata Lodge surrounded by jungle. On the way we saw turtles, capibaras and many birds. Only my friend and I booked the long tour (5 d / 4 n) which meant we had our private guide Manuel who turned out to be an extraorinary good...

Firstly, if you come to this place expecting any common luxury, don't. It's not for you. This is an eco-lodge and that's exactly how you'll live when spending your time in Tampopata. Running water is a luxury here and you'll be sleeping under a mosquito net. Occasionally you may have an uninvited guest in your room. Ours happened to be...

The lodge and activities was a great once-in-a-lifetime experience. About a 3 hour boat ride from Puerto Maldonaldo. The lodge is very close to jungle with the associated wildlife sharing - Agouti, snakes, spiders, armadillos...the works. The huts have bedding with mosquito nets, no fans and no power. The lights are solar and there is no hot water at all...

It was a good jungle tour, but the price was too high for this place. There was no hot water, the food included was very, very basic. If you want something to dring, it is not included and you must wait a lot to receive it. Also the practice to ask full payment in advance by bank transfer was strange....

Very well organized trip with excellent guide with several activities to enjoy nature and wildlife. Macaws, aras, caymans, monkeys, otters, butterflies, spiders, etc but also wonderfull botanics. Nice huts built and exploited in an ecological way.

This expedition to the Amazon was a great adventure! They organized to pick us up and take us back to the Puerto Maldonado airport to the lodge for free. They then took us by boat to the lodge that was 4 hours down the Tambopata River. Our tour was led by Chemo who was very knowledgable and kind. He made...

I did the "Amazon Expedition to the Upper Tambopata River & Sandoval Lake" 4D/3N with Wasai Tambopata and it was AMAZING!! I wasn't sure what to expect but was completely blown away. It was my favorite part of my Peru trip. The facilities were well-kept and clean, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the expeditions were a lot of...

Wow! We started off our Peru holiday with 3N, 4D at the Wasai lodge. Deep in the jungle, in takes 3 hours by boat from Puerto Maldanado. Boat is the main transport, but it was amazing the scenery. The lodge itself, is tidy and very authentic. As its in the jungle, you don't have air con or hot water but...

Got way more than we bargained for. Staff was amazing and went above and beyond what we expected. We arrived super early and left late, and at both ends the gave us a room.to use for showers and napping. It was seriously one of the best tours I've ever done!
