Over four special days I explored the jungle during the day and a walk at night, climbed above the canopy, fished in the river, learnt about medicinal plants with the local medicine man, tasted freshly opened Brazil nuts, slept soundly under my mosquito net in my 3-walled room, ate well, shared the days with like-minded people and our wonderful guide...

This resort really does tick all the boxes and feels genuinely special which you will not forget. We looked at several Amazon lodges and our travel agent suggested this one as it was deeper in than some of the others. I think this was great advice as we have seen the giant otter, 4 species of monkey, numerous large spiders,...

Amazing place and tour! The lodges are simple, understated luxury, the food is fantastic and there is plenty of it, and the location is stunning. This is the closest of the lodges to Puerto Maldonado that this company offered, and we certainly didn't feel that we missed anything by not going further in to the Amazon. They seemed to have...

Dear Visitor, Thank you for your review. Posada Amazonas is indeed our nearest lodge to Puerto Maldonado and easily accessible to get a glance from the rainforest. We are happy that you enjoyed your short stay and that you even learned how to make a proper Pisco sour, our national drink :) Thanks for letting us know about the massage...

We stayed here for one day as part of a tour. It was a bit out of my comfort zone as the rooms are open air, sleeping under mosquito nets, open slats in the bathroom floor boards...the jungle guides said opossums may come in looking for snacks and the girls next to us had a frog and lizard in their...

Our guide Robin was from the local community so had great knowledge and eager to pass on information. Food and service were fantastic and they readiy catered for my wife who is Gluten intolerant. The excursions were well organised and informative and there were always things to see and do. Rooms with only Three walls was a highlight.

This place is wonderful!! I love the fact that proceeds are a 60/40 split between the Community and Rainforest Expeditions. You are not only helping this community grow and thrive but Rainforest Expeditions is also a Peruvian owned company, not a foreigner owned company, so all around you are helping the Peruvian economy! We stayed here while on Contiki and I was pleasantly surprised by what we found. The jungle lodge is located just off the river, probably a ten minute walk down. It was very peaceful and relaxing with hammocks and couches at the entrance. The rooms are simple but enough, it's very hot at night and can be a bit of...
