We stayed for a couple of days in the Antico Monastero. The location is lovely Our room was nicely decorated, large and had good facilities eg. a fridge. Our hosts did their best to make us feel welcome. They gave us great tips for restaurants, beaches, and places to visit. Highly recommended if you want to fully enjoy Capri!
I spent two nights in the low season on Capri and had the pleasure to stay in this cute B&B up in Anacapri. The rooms are beautifully decorated and take you back to good old times (in a good way!). Comfortable beds, clean and light rooms and valuable tips from the family members for what to explore on the island. They are so helpful and make you feel right at home. Since Capri is generally quite expensive, this is probably the nicest of all the affordable places on the island.
We liked the location, close to everything but tucked away next to a fascinating church in lovely Anacapri and accessible by bus to everywhere we wanted to go in Capri. We loved all of Capri, but Anacapri is quieter and less touristic. Our kind and friendly hosts greeted us and told us all about the area, restaurants, hiking, places of interest, buses, ferries, etc. complete with maps and timetables. One highlight -- they knew where and when to see the sunset on the cliffs, which we hiked to, with an excellent restaurant nearby that drove us back for free. The comfortable room turned out to be a furnished apartment, which was a bonus. It is in an old convent and is very homelike. They made us cappuccino and offered a nice breakfast in a lovely parlor room. One small wish was for some TV in English for the little time we spent in our room. There are many stations, all in Italian. Maybe there were closed captions in English - we never asked. If we return to Capri we will certainly stay here again.…
The room we had left had the bathroom outside the room which is not so comfortable. Anyway it was super clean and very nice host. The rooms are too small and at night we had the two nights two different shows in the square just over our room so it was a bit difficult to rest. Breakfast is served by the owner and very delicious. He was a nice man. In the room you can find a little fridge with some drinks, a kettle, coffee, tea, etc. We had a good time.
Antico Monastero is a small, nicely remodeled B&B in the old town of Anacapri. Our room was large with a small kitchenette and bathroom, and a small balcony. On one wall were the faint remains of a frescoe. The owners were very helpful, recommending walks and other attractions. (We did take a several hour walk outside the town of Capri, which was one of the most beautiful walks we have ever been on.) Breakfast was fine, and the owners packed breakfast for us the next morning since we had to leave early to catch the ferry. The fall is a great time to visit Capri because the weather can be quite nice and the island isn't crowded. It is truly a beautiful island, and should we return we will stay at Antico Monastero.
