Stunning setting and excellent restoration of the building. Cooking arrangements were a little lacking with no microwave or oven or basics like cereal bowls. The instructions were in German as was the TV and our German is pretty limited. The surprise was the 50 euro cleaning charge.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry that you didn't find the things like at home in our very well equipped kitchen. The space is limited and so we decided that a dishwasher is much more useful than an oven. Italy is famous for his healthy food but not for the use of a microwave. The final cleaning fee is... More

Ventena Vecchia is a small paradise. Everything has been conceived by the owners to provide the most perfect, relaxing and beautiful holiday. The flat, the grounds, the pool, the corresponding equipment are all of the highest quality and blend perfectly with the idyllic Tuscan surroundings, which the grounds overlook giving a panoramic view of the area. While there is the... More

We had a wonderful 5 days staying in Villa Lavanda. This beautifully restored Tuscan home was a perfect way to have our first Tuscan experience. Our host Olaf was very welcoming and provided us with some fantastic tips and places to visit, including the wonderful Daniella's and Riccardo's Restaurant in Monteverachi. We are already planning our next trip to Ventena... More

We chose VV because we wanted to be in an authentic part of Tuscany and have a base of operations to visit the area. It was perfect, situated within an olive orchard in the hills. Beautiful Chianti towns are a short (twisty) drive away as are several wineries. (Grieve, Rada, etc) even Florence is not far up the Autostrada. We... More

This was our 2nd trip to Ventena Vecchia and it did not disappoint. We stayed in Oleandro this time, which is quiet, being at the far end of the house, and quite secluded. The appartment was everything we needed and Olaf and team were helpful as ever, without imposing. We made use of the lovely pool, although the weather was... More

Ventena Vecchia is a wonderful place to stay with amazing views of the Tuscan countryside! Fully equipped with everything you need to have a fantastic stay. It is a great base for exploring Tuscany. We stayed in the papadero room which was spacious and comfortable. The only slight negative was that our patio faced the parking and was not as... More

I loved it here, nice and peaceful. We had a the ' Limonaia' appartment which is lovely and spacious. The appartment is well equipped/stocked. The pool has a nice sunbeds and you can just lay there quietly. Each appartment has a terras, some more private than others. I loved sitting outside and eating dinner. The only downside is that the... More

We were on the run from the time we landed in Europe, but had a week of "recharging" which my "Son In Law" booked here. Well it was a dream. “Oleandro is bwell equipped and has the benefit of a secluded patio area for eating out. It loses the sun in the afternoon and the views are limited, now that the vegetation has grown up, but you do get the tweeting of birds and the chirping of crickets!”

“We had the Limonaia appartment, which is great. It is all same level floor, with a bedroom (that you have to take two steps down), a bathroom and a mainroom which functions as a dining, a livingroom and open kitchen. The terras is just on the right side of the appartment, which is nice and private on the side. The rooms were clean and also complete. There was a nice couch to sit etc... However, in from of the entrance is the terrasses of three other appartments. We didn't have a problem with that, but if you have neighbours who like to stay out late on their terras drinking wine, this could be an issue, because one of the terrasses is located in front of the bedroom.”
