St. Martins Campsite is a small, sheltered, family run site, the only campsite on the Isles of Scilly to be awarded four stars by Visit Britain. St Martins campsite is only yards from a beautiful white sandy beach, it has a safe, friendly atmosphere which must be why so many campers come back year after year. There is a well equipped laundry, spotlessly clean toilet block, lockable charging lockers, free WiFi and a small honesty shop and if pre-booked, hot croissants each morning.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The camping equivalent of a 5* hotel. Chilled happy place with loads of space, nice facilities and lovely owners. This place could detox the most stressed out CEO. Its sheltered pitches and beach access make for an amazing place to return to year after year.

This was our fourth time camping at St Martin’s campsite and it was as idyllic as the first visit eight years ago. Incredible location by a beautiful beach, while at the same time being sheltered as just set back behind the sand dune. It’s also a short walk to the Seven Stones pub, which has great beer, food and island views. It’s a great base to explore a very beautiful island with lots of great walks off the beaten track. Ben and Caroline work tirelessly and keep the campsite in impeccable condition. They are very quick to resolve anything that arises and do everything with good cheer. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We’re already trying to work out how soon we can return!

This family-run campsite is a delight, and Caroline and Ben are very friendly and helpful, and make it obvious that they want everyone to have a good time. There's plenty of clean, well-cut grass in which to find a great pitch with high, Scilly hedges to protect from the winds. The toilet block is kept in pristine condition and spruced up twice a day. Free Wi-Fi across the site, and charging facility up the road in one of their barns. The campsite is just off the lane which runs across the centre of the island, so staying here gives easy access to the whole island. Thanks for a great holiday.... I will return!

A lovely sheltered campsite, with great toilets and shower blocks. They have washing machines, tumble dryer, spinning facilities and rotary Washing line with limited room. It is only a short walk to the beach and a pub!

I felt I had stumbled into paradise when we first camped here about 30 years ago and it still feels the same now, albeit the family has wildly expanded and the wee babes do cry at night and the rain occasionally falls and the camping gear is creaky and old, as now am I. For the site is magical - full of fun and laughter, with Caroline and Ben and Jack the warmest kindest hosts imaginable, and the stars at night sparkle like jewels on black velvet and Little Bay over the hill (with the daymark in the distance) is the most welcoming empty sweep of beach for early morning and late evening swims, and there so much wildness to see every day and such friendly other campers for conversation and even the huge effort of getting all your kit from penance to the island is a huge adventure involving boats and tractors and human chains, and there is the best ever fish and chip shop up the road, and a shop that sells all you need to eat well and happily, and a bakery, and wayside stalls with local produce, and a great pub with a splendid view, and even a summer fete if you go at the right time.

We had a lovely three day stay; our first time on the Isles of Scilly. The campsite facilities (including camping barn with charging facilities) are brilliant (and very clean) and Caroline and Ben were great. Lovely sheltered location right next to a beautiful white sandy beach. Great pub 5 mins walk away. We’ll be back!

We enjoyed it here. A beautiful, secluded campsite on a stunning little island. Wonderful location right by the beach and brilliant for kids. Relaxed, friendly and secure vibe. Well run, clean and friendly. Facilities are simple but well maintained and pleasant. The luggage transfer arrangements are excellent. Most of our fellow campers seemed to be long term regulars which says a lot. The campsite owner/managers were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Top dollar prices but good value overall.

We have had a lovely two week break here with our children. The location is amazing- 2 minutes to a beautiful peaceful beach. The Scillies are quiet and safe for children with very few cars. It is a 15 minute walk to the shop. Ben and Caroline and on hand and provide breakfast croissants weekdays and twice a week baked potatoes. There is a pub close by, the cafes, bakery and fish and chip shop are around 20 minutes walk away. We haven't camped before as a family and we will definitely be back. Feeding the cheeky and very tame sparrows was a highlight for my children too.

Absolutely lovely week, thank you Ben and Caroline. 5mins to pub, a bit longer to the shop, but lots to get distracted by on the way. Campsite was perfect, the rules are there for a reason! (don't forget to put a donation in one of the charity boxes when you charge your phone). Beach is Just There and beautiful. Can't wait to come back x

We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks camping on St. Martin’s. This was our first trip to the Isles of Scilly, and only our second time camping after ten years of storing our tent in the attic! The campsite is in a great location, with clean facilities, and a great campsite barn with freezers for ice blocks, gas, pastry ordering, phone charging lockers and book swap. The location is only two minutes from the beach, ten minutes to the pub and the hotel in lower town and twenty minutes to the bakery, post office, gallery, fish & chips and bistro in higher town. Ben and a Caroline work exceptionally hard to keep everything clean and tidy, and the daily flag changes are an added daily bonus . . both country and county flags to test everyone’s knowledge! Thank you very much for a great two weeks camping.

Dear Rosie00, Thank you very much for your lovely review, hopefully you will not put your tent back into the attic, keep it ready for more adventures. I have just hoisted today's flag, Alaska, that will keep them all guessing.
