The breakfasts at this Guest House are extraordinary; great chopped up fruit, all the usual cereals, excellent toast, cooked breakfast with great bacon eggs hash browns etc. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. There was milk in the dining room fridge for your tea/coffee to prevent the waste of all those fiddly milk pots. There is one downstairs bedroom. The bed here is very comfortable.
You have to eat in Hugh Town and it's quite a drag up the hill afterwards, but it is a lovely, friendly place to stay

If your looking for a comfortable clean and welcoming place to stay look no further than the Belmont. Marion is a very welcoming host and works hard to make your stay perfect.

The breakfast each morning was superb, from the fresh fruit bowl to the full English cooked breakfast` it was great. Very filling and set us up for the day.

The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with everything we needed. I would add the WI-FI was a bit hit and miss but certainly not an issue once we eventually got connected.

The guest house is just a short walk from The town square and close to the great costal path walks.

We had en excellent stay and would certainly visit Marions guest house again.

Highly recommend. Steve and Marian were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Our room although small, was clean bright and fresh. Our choice of breakfast was fresh fruit, yoghurt, OJ, followed by a full English, toast with coffee; all cooked to perfection, which set us up for the day, exploring the wonderful Islands.

We're just completing our third stay at the Belmont with our obliging hosts, Marion and Steve. From start to finish, they've been friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Our room 3 is on the front of the building and is well appointed and comfortable.
Breakfast has been eggceptional with the best scrambled eggs on St Mary's. We highly recommend this establishment.

Room was perfectly adequate, though quite small so it was a good job I was travelling solo! A few biscuits on the hospitality tray would have been nice. Owners were really friendly and accommodating. I loved that the dining area could be used for takeaways and there was a microwave for use if preferred.

This guest house is absolutely perfect. I was dubious about going on holiday due to the current situation, but from the moment we stepped into this house, my fears about cleanliness were put to rest. This was even better when we went into our room. It is the cleanest I have ever stayed in!!. The room is bright, well furnished, and smelled so fresh. The breakfast was wonderful cooked by Steve, and served by Marian. Lovely and warm, brilliant choice. I cannot fault this guest house and praise the owners enough for making our stay here the best we've had in months. Well done you two hopefully we will be back next year.
Cheers Sheila and Steve from Doncaster

Very comfortable, clean and tidy. Excellent choice and quality breakfasts, and accommodating hosts.
Handy location for St Mary’s amenities, with a 10-15 minute walk to the quay. Highly recommended for a week’s stay in Scilly.

We stayed here for 5 nights in the middle of September. We had the room on the ground floor, possibly because we were relatively late in booking and the B & B was otherwise full. the room was very well equipped and comfortable, just the right size for 2, excellent ensuite shower room/WC with daily change of towels and gel/shampoo etc. Flat screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Excellent choice of breakfasts, from full Engish through cereal, fruit and yoghurt. Plus there was also a microwave in the breakfast room that guests could use at any other time during the day if you wanted to. Friendly and helpful hosts gave us plenty of info about the islands and things to do. The Belmont is a pleasant 5 to 10 minute walk into the centre of Hugh Town, the main town on St Mary's. There is an island bus tour of St Mary's, complete with joke cracking drivers, plus buses go to various points around the island. But you have to like walking, and there are superb walks on Peninnis Head and around Old Town as well as up into the Garrison and Star Castle. There 2 banks, Lloyds (with a cash machine) and Barclays, and 1 supermarket, the COOP. This really just a shop but it is a pleasant change to go somewhere WITHOUT a Tescos, Asda or Morrisons megamall. A good choice of pubs and restaurants and cafes, we especially liked the Atlantic Inn. We also went to the Bishop And Wolf and the New Inn in Old Town.
For a group of islands that are pretty small there is a lot to do, in the mornings (or afternoon) everyone takes the short walk down to the harbour and chooses the boat tour for the day. We went to the island of Tresco with the world famous Abbey Gardens full of subtropical plants and also coastal walks to both Cromwell's and King Charles's Castles Another day we went to the island of St Martin's, more excellent walks as well as a trip around the rocky, uninhabited Eastern Isles to see the seals and seabirds.. Our one wet day meant we couldn't get to either St Agnes or Bryher but there's always next time.
Travelwise we flew with Skybus from Lands End/St Just. There is also the helicopter from Penzance and the Scillonian ferry, we were told it's nickname of the"stomach churner" was for good reason!
To sum we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would recommend the Belmont and the island to anyone, we would certainly go back again.
