Older style country motel, a little tired outside, but nicely renovated inside. Warm, comfortable, and reasonably priced we booked this last minute and were pleasantly surprised. Tea, coffee, microwave, fresh milk supplied, a couch to sit and read, and a nice looking pool and grassed area for use in better weather. Close to main street.

An older style motel, recently renovated. It does what it supposed to do, offers a clean warm bed for the night. Friendly and easy check in. Close to town - a five minute walk, if that. Down side - one spoon and one knife. No bowls, plates or wine glasses. Take your own if you want more than tea and...

Good basic motel accommodation. Spacious and clean. Absolutely no complaints. Fresh milk provided at check in. We drove everywhere, so I'm not sure of walking distances, but it wasn't far to drive to the main Castlemaine attractions or restaurants. Would recommend.

From the outside it may look like an older style hotel but it has history to it. Greeting on arrival was lovely after a long drive and the room was really great. Great new renovated bathroom. New TV and good facilities that you need for coffee and toast in the morning. Take your own wine glasses, cutlery and bowls if...

Given the exterior of this place we found it to be surprisingly nice. The room appeared to be recently renovated. It was very spacious with comfortable bedding, a clean bathroom and a powerful and hot shower. We saw some other rooms which appeared to not be as spiffy as ours but we were happy with the quality of our room...

Older style of motel that had all the basics. Was clean and well presented and quite ok for our needs. A bit noisy with a main road out the front but not over the top. We slept very well. We'd be happy to stay again. Some modernisation would go down well here!

My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights. The room was comfortable. Even to the microwave in the cupboard. The electric blanket was a comfort. The only problem was there was no exhaust fan in bathroom and steam built up on the mirror. And there were no laundry facilities. There is a laundromat in the town centre. The staff were...

Castle Hotel is a great place to stay in Castlemaine. The Staff there were lovely and very accommodating. On arrival we were upgraded to a newly renovated room away from the street and it was always very quiet in our room. The rooms were cleaned every day. As we are from Queensland and not used to the cold. the heater...

Stayed here as needed to get early shuttle to airport. Rooms look like they have been recently renovated. Clean room and comfy bedding. Close to town and good pubs for dinner. Ground floor rooms and a pool onsite. Recommend this motel
