Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have just stayed here for the second time now and would highly recommend! We have a huge family with all ages to cater for and this house certainly covers everything we need and would ever wish for! The entertainment is second to none with 2 hot tubs and the disco room which the kids love and the kitchen area is so spacious and the hub of the house! Takeaways and shops only a short drive away and some lovely walks for the dogs too! We have really loved our stays both times, last year and this year and will definitely be back! Steve is fabulous and really looked after us when the snow came in last year when he really didn't have to, but came back to make sure we had plenty wood for the fire! Amazing time had and can't wait to again! Thank you so much xx

What can I say but what a fantastic couple nights we have had up at this beautiful house in some gorgeous Yorkshire surroundings! We arrived at the house to be created by the funny and charming host Steve with the Prosecco flowing and he had us all giggling. He showed us round this warm and inviting home, and took us into the Disco room last, and honestly we were blown away; it was like having our own personal Studio 54! He left us singing and dancing away to ABBA and the rest of the night was history; we sang drank and laughed the night away; the hot tubs kept us hot and the industrial ice machine kept our drinks cold! We have booked again for TWICE next year; What a fantastic way to celebrate a rubbish year!

Cleanliness should be uppermost in the given climate and should be expected anyway in so call 4* accommodation. Not here, cobwebs take time to develope, dirty bacon tray in oven. Extinguisher with no pin and almost empty, filthy skirting boards down side of bed. Showers either boiling or cold, no control over them. Old food in cupboard, dirty shelf underneath. To much to mention.

A perfect place to stay with the family for a get together. Ample bedroom, living space. The aga is a dream to cook on. Near to pennistone village and only 5 miles from a Holmfirth. Highly recommend this beautiful house

I recently stayed here for my friends 30th and there were 16 of us in total. We had full use of the house and facilities and it was great and comfortable and spacious. The hot tubs were great too! The only bad thing i can say about this place was the main bathroom on the second floor, the shower was horrendous. It trickled out and went from being freezing cold to boiling hot within 10 seconds on a constant cycle.

Stayed last May so a long overdue review! Stayed for three nights in the Ladybower suite and enjoyed every second. The hot tubs had just been installed and Steve made sure they were ready for our arrival. Room was beautiful, breakfast delicious and Steve couldn’t have done enough for us. Would love to return sometime soon.

As soon as we walked in there was a very warm welcoming feeling. Very spacious rooms for all of us. The Aga was very easy to use with simple instructions. The hot tubs were very relaxing and easy to use. Everyone we met were very friendly and the Bistro in the Barn was amazing and only a 5 minute walk. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean but the shower pressure wasn’t as strong as we are used to. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

We stayed in Hazelhead House on a self-catering basis for a family holiday - 3 generations, 6 adults and 4 children. With 7 bedrooms there was more than enough space, and the kitchen was very cosy with the Aga providing continuous warmth. 2 hot tubs (1 indoors and 1 outdoors) were very popular, and the garden provided plenty of space for games and dog exercising.

Our suite was huge and the four poster bed was amazing(princess and the pea moment)we didn't get chance to use the hot tubs as we were off out to a music gig in Holmfirth(5miles away).Steve went above and beyond for us by giving us a lift to our venue in a Rolls Royce may I add.
