The Azalea Inn is one of the best known B&Bs in the Highcountry and has more rooms than any other. With a history that dates back to the 60's and a main house build in 1937. The property has a great history. The innkeepers, Frank and Karen purchased the property in January 1998; and after living in Tanzania, East Africa, as missionaries during 2012 and 2013 are happy to be back at Azalea Inn B&B. Randolph, We are so happy that you took the time to leave these remarks online; although, we are wondering why you would not have brought up any of these issues up with the InnKeeper during your stay. You had three days to bring up these issues and they could have certainly been addressed at that time. We noticed that you also stayed in one of our beautiful, newly renovated rooms with a private porch and we can only assume that you enjoyed your room. Yes, for the Woolly Worm Festival we required a 3-night minimum stay. Missy is not the owner. She was following instructions and was not dishonest with anyone. We do recognize that several guests made previous arrangements far in advance and had different rates when the past owners were in place. We are in the midst of creating new rates and procedures for big event weekends that will work better for all guests. We do not promote French cuisine for breakfast anywhere on our website or in our marketing. The butter croissant buns are freshly toasted every day and there are never any leftovers put out. The quiches are hand-made made by Molly's kitchen and are baked fresh daily. We have received so many compliments for our delicious breakfast. We have tried to brew pots of coffee in the past, but most guests have told us that they prefer the organic Keurig because it is hot on demand. We understand that the Woolly Worm festival ended badly for so many with the terrible storm. We felt so sad for so many! We look forward to successful Woolly Worm Festival next year and we welcome you back with open arms. Thank you so much for the feedback. We welcome the opportunity to make improvements.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to leave such a lengthy letter. However, I do wish that you would have taken 2 minutes during your stay to bring these issues up with the InnKeeper. Yes, we do ask if our guests will be participating in the breakfast program. We prepare different local uncured meats, locally made quiches and fresh cut fruit daily. We attempt to get a head count for breakfast in order not to have waste. Many skip breakfast in order to hit the hiking trails early or make a t-time on the golf course. We offer quite a large selection of breakfast foods and many find it perfect for 1 or 2 days. We are sorry that it was not enough for you and we appreciate your thoughts. We have attempted to put out pots of coffee in the past but most of our guests prefer the organic Keurig as it is hot on-demand. Guests can also help themselves throughout the day. We always have a big bowl of complementary fresh organic fruit, coffee, tea and hot chocolate offered throughout the day for all of our guests. I am so sorry to hear that your trash was not picked-up on one of your days. I have addressed the trash issue that you encountered with our housekeeping staff. We have been training new staff lately and I know that it was an unintentional over-site. We are always making improvements so we greatly appreciate your thoughts. We hope to see you in the future.

Thank you so much for taking time to bring these things to our attention. However, if you had brought these things up during your stay, they could have been easily and quickly addressed. For instance, an open window...a breeze...wanting extra towels. These things are easy to fix if you just let someone know. We are here to serve our guests and are honored to take care of any requests as they are made. We appreciate your nice compliments about the breakfast. Yes, our organic juice is freshly squeezed and it is delicious. And our meats are all local, uncured and smoked. The sausage that you said was burned was actually caramelized not burned. And yes, the butter croissants are buttery. Our muffins and quiches are locally made, not store-bought. Guests often-times naturally bring their plates to the kitchen as we have a very relaxed atmosphere especially when we are not fully booked. But I do not believe that anyone asked you to scrape your plates into the trash or stack your plates. We welcome all of our guests to enjoy our furnished common spaces in the Inn, like the family room and furnished gazebos. Again, thank you for both your compliments and comments as we are always looking to make improvements.

You should give them a call and ask. It probably depends on whether they have availability during that time (you can more than likely check that on their website). They are great folks!
