My family and I have stayed at the Monte Vista about 5 or 6 times over the years.
When we arrived on our latest visit (over the Thanksgiving Holidays), we noticed the lobby area a little different - Somewhat upgraded and a new branding of the restaurant. We found out the coup…
Enjoyed our stay here... Clean rooms... simple, but elegant... love all the art, character, pretty, etc. place... great art gallery next door... close to the cute & quaint downtown... only thing is.... wish there were single thermostats in the room—- We were on the 3rd floor—-1s…
Very nice hotel that has been updated recently, great service and very reasonably priced as compared to Asheville, we will stay here again, walking distance to downtown Black Mountain makes it very convenient
We stayed at The Monte Vista for a family gathering. The rooms were clean and the breakfast buffet was good. The hotel is older but well maintained. Unfortunately the weather was not good and we didn't get to see a lot of Black Mountain.
We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and enjoyed the whole evening. The wait staff could not have been nicer and the food was excellant. The hotel is quaint and filled with original local art that's for sale. Would be good for a fall trip to relax. Check it out.

"Ask for the 3rd floor"
"We loved the "historic" room style (there's also a "modern" selection). We recommend historic, and third-floor."
