My family and I stayed this weekend while visiting for the Polar Express train. We really enjoyed our stay at Two Rivers Lodge. Clean rooms with good WiFi. Owner was super nice and helpful with recommendations of things to do and restaurants. The location is convenient and halfwa

Overall, it was a nice little place to just stay and relax. Owner was a very nice person, very friendly and appreciated the guests. Took the time to just talk and make you feel like you were home. Older place, loved the water view though.

Good location to Bryson City / Cherokee. Clean room although very old fashioned. Very good WiFi. We had a room with two queen beds which was a good size. Would stay again if in the area.
Parking right outside the room.

Let me start by saying that Two Rivers Lodge has a policy that disallows customers under 25 from staying, and they do have it in their "things you should know" section of booking.com. I made the mistake of booking without carefully reading the full list of things I should know b

Thank you for the opportunity to expound on a few things. Yes. We have a parking area behind the pool, away from the road, out of view to passing motorists, in the yard where we park some vehicles when it is very busy. Not in the front lawn that is nicely manicured and presents a attractive street view for passing motorists. There is enough parking area out of the driveway directly in front of the office for up to three vehicles to park while checking in. Attachments are not accepted here so just look at our street view pictures On the website and it is readily apparent. It had been raining heavily here all that day and tha ground was very soft. I rushed out as soon as I saw you pulling into our lawn to try and catch you befor you got out of your explorer. I was trying to get you out of our lawn before it started leaving ruts in the ground but you just stared at me like I had two heads. I had to tell you to get into the vehicle and get it out of the lawn and park over here. (pointing to the paved parking area directly in front of the office) when you finally moved the explorer and came inside you did say sorry and I said thank you but just because I forgive an action doesn't mean I am instantly over it. I am human and this is not just some place we work. It is our home and we defend it as such. With an average of 300 guests a month we only have had a couple of guests in the last few years that have pulled into the front yard but we have observed in other matters that as people are becoming more and more entitled more and more signes are becoming necessary so after you left my wife and I discussed continuing the row of large boulders at our entrance further down the length of the driveway. So yes. You had set the stage for a understandably guarded Interaction from there out. You say you understand we must have reasons for our policies but you do not seem to understand that trying to rationalize that you are good kids is exactly what you would say if you were not good kids and I responded with an EXTREME example to illustrate that point and to emphasize we were not making exceptions. You could be "good kids" but we cannot know that. I do not know you or what kind of life you have had. I hope it has been a good one but many people sleep approximately 8 hours or less out of 24 each day which means most people are up 16 hours or more every day. Also I think it is safe to say that you are at least a few days older by now and will probably read things more completely from now on and what my wife said was "I'm sorry it looks like you drove all this way for nothing" which as far as staying with us was true. We have no idea about the rest of your plans. We have been here doing this and only this for 11 years now and have seen and experienced things that make us very cautious. Not only do we live here but our children and grand children live with us and we also have to consider not only the actual safety and security of every guest here but we have to consider how safe and secure they feel. That is considerably more dificult. All of this leads to a less open and easy feeling at check in. More of a all business no play feeling but we do lighten up some once all the necessities are performed and even become good friends with many guests but we never forget all the things that can happen if we let our guard down.

So this review comes very late because we actually stayed here December of 2015. However, I wanted to write about our family experience at this family-friendly lodge. We stayed here for a long weekend to take our kiddos on the Polar Express train ride. Everyone at the lodge was v

Thank you for the review. Also thank you for your understanding on pets. We do understand because we have pets and typically have no one to pet sit for us. We have become too busy to accommodate the additional attention required to protect allergic guests after a pet has been in a room but are also saddened that so many pet owners could not be responsible with their pets creating unacceptable liability issues. We do miss meeting responsible pet owners and their pets but the cons far outweighed the pros in our case. Thank you for understanding

How is the fishing behind the hotel? Is this location on a tubing route from one of the local rafting companies? Thanks!
This year the fishing has been good here. Some of the local paid fishing guides bring visiting anglers here on a daily basis. You will catch mostly bass and rainbow trout here. We are not on any float route but if you have a tube you can easily do it yourself. You just have to have your own return plan.

Hi, are you dog friendly and if so what is the pet fee?
We did stop taking pet reservations in June of 2016. We have found some u solicited ads that still show us as pet friendly and have requested them be discontinued but if anyone is aware of a listing showing us as pet friendly still please let us know so we can get it corrected. We do not want to be accused of misleading possible patrons. Thank you.828 488 2284

Good afternoon, I was wondering if me and my husband wanted to come in the fall of 2018, when is the best time to come and how soon would we need to make a reservation? Thank you.
We have so many large yearly groups whose dates may change slightly from year to year that we don't start taking individual reservations until November each year. As for what is the best time, if you mean when is the best color there is no constant answer for that from year to year. The park service has teams of scientists that make some prediction each year but not usually until mid to late summer but you can check the national park website.
