My family of four rented one of the cabins for Thanksgiving weekend, 2015. We stayed in the Windsong cabin. There are about 10-12 cabins in a cluster around several fire pits, adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway, 2.7 miles north from the Northwest Trading Post. The cabins are about 40 feet apart, so you aren't exactly alone, but it is... More

The locale was very natural and serene. Unfortunately the cabin lacked furniture that would have made the stay more comfortable. No drawers in the bedroom to put clothes, only hanging in the closet. Only one table by the couch and no lamps for reading in the living room. Porch had only two plastic chairs. Should have a swing and a... More

Our family enjoyed an end of summer getaway last month in the no pets allowed cabin. The serenity was just what we needed. The location was perfect to venture out to explore the surrounding areas. The managers of the property Joan and C.O. are awesome. They made sure all our needs were met. We can't wait to visit again.

We made a last minute decision to get away from the heat in late summer and found it 15-20 degrees cooler in the mountains! Peace and quiet, rest and relaxation, away from the craziness of our daily lives. The Mountain View cabins were just what we needed! We also loved that they are pet-friendly - so the whole family could... More

My family has been going to Mountain View Cabins for several years. It is a beautiful, quiet, mountain setting. The cabins are well built and comfortable (not elaborate). It is a perfect place for a family reunion as each family can have their own cabin and mingle in the large outdoor common area equipped with fire pits and grills. We... More

The cabin was very cute. However, due to the smells I will not return. Bedroom smelled like smoke, pillows like dirty, greasy hair, dishes and silverware were sticky, smell of sewage was awful. The septic tank must have needed to be emptied. Mice kept me awake. Futon was not only uncomfortable, it was hazardous. The cushion to sit on hung... More

My husband, our two dogs and I stayed in the Pines Cabin Friday October 25-Sunday October 27th. I highly recommend these cabins to folks who want to go enjoy the mountains during the fall, but isn't fond of crowds and a lot of traffic, and who have pets they like to take with them on vacations. For $135 a night,... More

'Whitetop' cabin looks and feels new....is very quaint and easy to relax in. It also had its own personal firepit/grill/picnic table and enough open space adjacent to the cabin for our two young boys to run around and play. The Jacuzzi tub is....well, you'll just have to experience it for yourself! The fireplace kept the kitchen, living room and loft... More

I guide cycling tours and I recently hosted a group who rode the entire length of the Blue Ridge Parkway. We spent one night in the Mountain View Lodge. The guests enjoyed the relaxing common areas and the grounds. We made a home-cooked meal in the large kitchen. The dining room is spacious enough to be very comfortable for a... More

“The two 2-bedroom cabins overlook the rest of the property from the front porches (nice for letting kids play outside), while the six 1-bedroom cabins have nice tall balcony decks from the bedroom overlooking the wooded mountainside.”
