We have visited several times and always received a pleasant welcome. Warm showers. Close to village with shops and places to eat. Close access to Nantes-Brest Canal cycle path. Always worth a visit with our camping car.

Especially great for touring cyclists, with thoughtful extras like a camp kitchen for free use and an all you can eat breakfast for €4 every morning. We stayed in our tent for just under a week and the facilties were great. Lovely quiet spot right by the canal with interest from watching passing dog walkers. Lovely campsite. Thank you.

A dream of a campsite next to the Brest Nantes canal. Exactly the place to restore my cycling confidence after perhaps 40 years of abstinence, with shady cycle paths next to the canal in each direction. Even saw my hoped for kingfishers. Extremely welcoming proprietors.

I think you need to understand this site to get the most from it, we stayed in our motor home in a secluded position, and I went off and cycled camped for a couple of days leaving my wife to her solitude. Incredible position, and just “rustic” enough to feel like wild camping. We like it a lot, and plan to return, would love to return with a caravan and pitch it there for a month or so, for a family holiday exploring the area. Don’t knock the owners, they are trying to do something different, that is sometimes lost on those used to 4 star campsites with kids clubs. Let’s hope this C19 ends soon, and we can all return to beautiful France, and in particular Gourec.

Thanks so much for that, and for 'getting' what we are trying to do;-) 2020 will be a tough year for everyone, but we hope our quiet little site will be about as far away from our daily worries as it is possible to got. My greatest regret is that the reason that we run the site - because we love the contact and sharing it involves - will inevitably be reduced, but rest assured that behind our masks we will be smiling for you;-)

Second visit to this campsite, both visits were really enjoyable. Run by a cycle tourist, quiet but near the village, proper grass!!, pretty with a lovely feel to it...would love to return again and again. PS..enjoyed talking to Geoff about his touring bike, and we share the same surname...Husband!!

Warning: do not camp here if you have teenagers who need to be surgically removed from their devices- there really is "nothing" to do here and they will be completely bored.... Nothing to do, that is, apart from cycle on some loaned bikes along a stunning canal (flat all the way); go to a French market and stuff yourselves with freshly made crepes; row along the canal as far as the next lock; play on the SUPs and kayaks available at the campsite; go wild swimming above the weir; eat huge pizza at the nearby restaurants; play in the trees in the nearby "Go-Ape" type park; and chill in the evenings in a hammock while having a BBQ. It was exactly what we needed as a family- relaxing yet active, no pressure to do anything much, fab weather and amazing hosts.

That's very lovely of you;-) Sometimes I wonder if we should even cut off the Wi-Fi around the office as it does collect a few teenagers playing games on their phones when they could be up to all sorts of dodgy activities;-) Of course next year the 'little train' will be running from Gouarec to Bon Repos so even more to do!

We visited for a few nights early July and found it a wonderful experience. Geoff was away, but Kate and her wonderful assistants made us very welcome. We hadn't pre booked but nothing was to much trouble and a very friendly atmosphere is much in evidence. I have to agree wholeheartedly with Geoffs coments regarding the upkeep. As an amputee I only used the disabled toilet/shower and washing up area. But both were very clean, and accessable, and were more thoroughly cleaned than a lot of sites we've been to. Hopefully when the local council finally update the facilities they will include a motorhome service point. There is a free aire on the opposite side of the canal with these facilities. Which one assumes is also council owned, and it has a nice view of the canal if you manage to get one of 3 bays canalside. But it has no toilets/showers or electric, and is to all intents a carpark with paid for servicepoint. No comparison!!!…

Nothing to formal here, superb location for biking a section , or as much as you like , of the Brest Nantes canal, a lovely friendly feeling all around, owners are superb , and very accommodating, the little villiage of GOUAREC is a few minutes walk away, and I mean just a few minutes, it has good drinking and eating and small super market which is very well stocked a bakery is also on hand, give it a try you won’t be disappointed,

Didn't book as I was en route on my bike doing the Velodyssey. Warm welcome, choice of where to camp, facilities to cook, simple but ideal facilities - the loos have both loo seats and paper!! My iPhone had broken and so was allowed to use proprietors laptop to email home. Jazz evening laid on. Help provided with fixing my bike ... And all this for €6, Highly recommended if you are a cyclist or back packer.

We stayed in a shepherds hut which was fantastic, a very friendly clean site in a lovely part of Brittany. Would recommend hiring the 2 CV, great fun. The nearby town of Gouarec has plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.
