Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

There is a reason why they call it trekking in style! Rooms & bathrooms are fairly spacious and there’s in-room heating & hot showers (a real joy on cold winter mornings). Come with your own toiletries. They provide a bar of soap (looks like a glycerine bar?) and there was a small tube of shampoo but I think that was left behind by a previous guest. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. I’m a bit of a neat freak so I brought simple flip-flops to pad about but the space is kept clean and tidy. After a good hike, most evenings were spent lazing in the communal living space by the fireplace, drinking mint tea and enjoying the hearty fare (that Berber omelette is very tasty!) served up by the team. The staff speak very basic English but the service is very warm & informal. A special shoutout to Yousseff and Abdul who took very good care of us :) I saw board games (Trivia Pursuit, Scrabble…) and a deck of cards. Wifi is a little patchy but it’s there. And bring your own booze. If you want to get away from it all with a bit of comfort thrown in, this is your place.

Property's Favourite Review
We stayed here for one night as part of a three day trek and couldn’t have been more impressed. The lodge is simple yet stunning. Highly recommend. Rooms were so comfy, tons of hot water and the food was delicious. Amazing place. The gentlemen running the lodge on our stay spoke little English but this didn’t seem to matter as he was so courteous and attentive, taking time to be with us and share our binoculars to spot his neighbours! A fantastic place - highly recommend

The Lodge (associated with the Kasbah du Tubkal) is a wonderful day hike away, in a very remote village, with amazing views, tremendous food, kind staff, and comfortable rooms. This is a bit more rustic than the Kasbah, but that is its intention. We spent two nights here Besides our tremendous Mountain Guide (Mohammed) and our Mule Man (Lassen) and the Mountain Chef (Lassen), we wish to thank Omar as he helped us through a bit of a health issue while we stayed at the Lodge. Also, a final thank you to Ibrahim who was an amazing driver who took us back to the Kasbah. P.S. No WiFi or (strong) signal or land line...

It’s quite a hike up from the river if you’re coming that way. But extraordinary if hard work. We were welcomed to a cosy oasis. Lovely touches; good food, cosy beds and fantastic bath tubs (seriously just wonderful after a long day of trekking). We had two bedrooms on the ground floor opposite each other; both were great. Dinner was generous and tasty; as was breakfast; views, well, go see for yourself! Would definitely recommend this as a great option.

This was our favourite place to stay on our three day trek in the Atlas. We walked from Ouirigane through the beautiful Azzaden Valley on our way to Imlil. We climbed from the valley bottom to the lodge at the top of the village and were greeted by our host, Mohamed who gave us leather slippers, dates and milk and washed our hands with orange blossom. Our rooms were warm and cozy with beautiful views over the valley. We had a delicious dinner in the lovely lounge where the log stove kept us warm. The view from the balcony was amazing and after dark the stars came out in their millions. Breakfast was a vey generous spread which set us up nicely for the walk over the mountain into Imlil. This place has left great memories that will stay with us.

Thank you so much for your kind words - so glad you enjoyed our Kasbah du Toubkal trekking lodge. When we built it we hoped it would encourage more people even not the hardened trekkers to visit this outlying valley and our trekking lodge allows you to stay in a spectacular valley without forgoing life creature comfort and as everyone attest Mohamed is a great cook and host. Thanks again Mike McHugo and All the Kasbah and trekking lodge team

We were a bit anxious to do the hike from Kasbah de Toubkal to the lodge. 1635 meters up and down during a two day hike is a lot more than we've done before. We're happy we took the challenge, as the hike was very good, the service was impeccable and the lodge was as good as the Kasbah in our opinion. The lodge rooms are similar to the Kasbah rooms, but with the added bonus of heated bathroom floors. Very, very comfortable. The dinner was better in our opinion compared to the Kasbah proper, as odd as it might seem. Do remember to bring your own wine as both the Kasbah and the lodge are strictly BYOB. And since you're not paying restaurant mark-up you might as well bring the best bottle you can afford. Nothing better after a good hike than a bottle of good amarone.

Thanks for your review and kind words and so glad you took the challenge which I hope with our support is manageable taken slowly by most reasonable fit people who do some walking. I am glad you remembered and highlight our BYO as we try to highlight in our literature but some people miss it. Thanks again and maybe you will be encouraged to come back and summit Jbel Toubkal one day we would love to see you. Wishing you well Mike McHugo and all the Kasbah du Toubkal and trekking team

This was really excellent, and the "patron" there (Mohamed) was brilliant. Great rooms, great location, great food (even better than the Kasbah in our opinion). It's an energetic trek from the Kasbah, but the views en route are stunning. The lodge is perfect for detoxing in so many ways. Don't miss out on it!

We stayed here for a night during a 3 day trek from the Kasbah de Toubkal. Set high above the valley, the views are fantastic. Rooms are basic but clean and a fire in the dining room took the chill off the evening air. The meals were excellent. The lodge is well placed for an exploration of the beautiful, remote, and virtually car-free valley. It's a day's walk from Imlil so perfect for a longer trip.

As part of our trek to the Toubkal we hiked from the Kasbah to the Azzaden Trekking lodge and then on to Lepiney through the valley. Nice hike, not too heavy and well received. Nice bedrooms and very good food. They took good care of one of our guys who fell ill and was taken back to the Kasbah. Nice terrace with great views, bring your own booz. The lodge is not cheap but very comfortable.
