With sweeping views of the Azzaden Valley and a backdrop of High Atlas peaks, Kasbah Africa perfectly blends sub-Saharan African lodge style with Berber warmth and charm to create a luxurious Atlas riverside retreat. Perched on a mountainside above the banks of the Azzaden River Valley in Morocco's High Atlas Mountains (at the entry to Toubkal National Park, Ouirgane area), Kasbah Africa can be reached in little over an hour from Marrakech. Offering a high degree of exclusivity Kasbah Africa has just eight stone-built suites, all with panoramic mountain and river views. Each suite has 40 square metres of living space and is furnished with hand-crafted walnut furniture with either two large singles or a super king size bed, wood burner, Berber rugs, a sofa and lounge chairs, spacious bathroom and private roof terrace offering spectacular and panoramic views - perfect for star-gazing. Facilities include a large swimming pool and lawn, Berber tent, extensive landscaped terraced gardens with abundant fruit and olive trees, a bar, lounge and restaurant with log fires, and of course panoramic river and mountain views. For those seeking escape and relaxation Kasbah Africa provides an antidote to the stresses of modern life. The Kasbah offers a wide range of local activities, day trips and tours including guided walks to nearby Berber villages, Atlas treks, Toubkal climbs, nature trails, mule treks, cooking courses, and 4*4 trips to remote mountain villages and beyond. Day trips are available to Marrakech, Ourika Valley, Agafay Desert, Tin Mal Mosque and the Ouirgane Valley.

Stayed beg Sept 2023 as a family of 5 for 2 nights. Kids ages 13-22. Having stayed in wonderful Marrakech this place really hit the spot , so surreal. Beautiful setting and scenery. Lovely pool too cool off in . The kids loved the house dogs and we all went for a lovely walk with the dogs to keep us company . Staff were so attentive and could not do enough for us, even with one fussy eater they would accommodate. We stayed in the cottage and was clean . Not luxury, but very Moroccan and did the job. Only downside was the beds were quite hard, not great with back back, but not enough to ruin this perfect stay!!! . Did a mule excursion around the local villages, recommended by the hotel manager, which was very good. Would highly suggest this as a family!!! Locals take you round on a hike and were so friendly and informative. Food was amazing , even did chicken nuggets( for fussy eater I might add) and cereals for breakfast. The breakfast was aplenty of fresh fruit and local cuisine. Lunch and Dinner so varied, again delicious local food , noone went hungry. We would definitely stay here again. We left 2 days prior to the devastating earthquake so our heart has a little special place here. Kasbah Africa will not disappoint.

Fantastic staff, accommodation and location. Built on the side of the valley so you must be able to manage steps, but this means you have lovely views and privacy in your rooms. The location is quiet, but you can walk into the valley directly from the garden of the hotel. Very nice view from the swimming pool, and shade if you want to avoid too much sun. We followed a guide provided by the hotel to see a local Berber village. A wonderful welcome including sharing some bread just freshly made on a charcoal oven outside. If you like walking and tranquility and great value quality accommodation this is a great choice.

A group of friends visited this special place last week. Given it was close to the earthquake damage we were concerned we would be intruding on the relief efforts and unwelcome. However, the reverse was true- we were welcomed and looked after exceptionally well. The manager, Sofiane went above and beyond to makes us comfortable and meet all our needs. Both the cookery class and short hike were excellent as a flavour of the area. Would recommend it highly.

During my stay at KASBA AFRICA, what struck me the most was the exceptional friendliness and high level of professionalism of Soufiane. His way of communicating with customers has the ability to make the less positive aspects of the experience fade away. And of course, it's important to mention Achraf, always wearing a warm smile.

We stayed in a suite at Kasbah Africa in the Atlas Mountains for a week at the end of June with half board. Our room was clean with an amazing view and good aircon. You could even go up on to the roof for some late night star spotting. We could see Venus and Mars! The manager Sofiane and his assistant Ashraf were amazing from start to finish making us feel welcome and as if we were home away from home. As did the dogs, cats and even a donkey! The food is good and the local cuisine on offer is by far the best option, but they are also happy to cater for special requests / make something different for you plus have pasta and a kids menu. The orange cake served at breakfast was so good that we asked for the recipe and have already made it at home! We ate dinner outside on the terrace almost every day - there was always a firepit. The pool is very relaxing and you can order drinks / snacks to your poolside seats. We booked a couple of trips via Sofiane - one to Imlil where we undertook a short guided hike and enjoyed a lovely lunch (all included in the trip price), and a local guided hike to Lake Ouirgane. We definitely recommend the first trip - the drive from the Kasbah is incredibly scenic. The nearest village is 3 km away so there aren't any shops nearby nor other places to eat, and the Kasbah does have a lot of external stairs to navigate - you should be mindful of these facts. However we absolutely recommend Kasbah Africa and it's team.

Kasbah Africa is quite simply magnificent. The location alone is enough for a five star review, the views of the valleys and mountains are simply stunning, and coupled with the comfort and luxury offered by this resort you won't be disappointed with your stay. During the whole of the stay we felt more like family than guests, and both Sofiane and Ashraf provided a welcome and service that was second to none. Caesar the dog was a constant companion, along with all the other resident animals including cats, tortoises and a donkey, who provided company, but were so well behaved as to not annoy. The local walks to the nearby Berber villages provided a unique insight into the local lifestyle and customs, and all of the villagers were so friendly and welcoming. The food on offer was delicious, and as vegetarians there wasn't anything the staff wouldn't do to cater for us, adding inventive options to the menu to make sure we had something different every day. I could write more, but I'd be here all day.
