Comfortable enough hotel to sleep in but not 5-star or luxurious by any measure - I would probably give it 3.5 stars max when comparing it to other properties both in China and internationally. Everything was just good enough to pass but nothing spectacular - rooms were somewhat clean but very, very dated. Breakfast spread was sufficient but nothing memorable.... More

Dolton Hotel, Changsha I was on a maiden trip to China. I was in Changsha for a day and stayed at Dolton Resort Hotels. The hotel is good and clean. I felt the hospitality was missing, may be its Chinese culture! Generally the hotel keeps the temperature quite high (about 25 to 26 degree Celsius) and it was uncomfortable for... More

I'd agree that it's not a 5 star hotel from a Western standard. However, it is a very nice hotel and one of the better ones I have stayed at in my many trips to mainland China. The room was spacious, clean, and fairly comfortable. The exception was that the air conditioning was not spectacular and only cooled the room... More

Stayed in this hotel on my last night of my Zhangjiajie excursion via an organized tour group in December. This hotel seemed like a hotel specially to cater tour groups from other countries. While this hotel is far from any shopping areas or pedestrian street, however, it is almost self-sufficient with a mini supermarket that sells quite a huge range... More

Join a group tour to Zhangjiajie, and had a stopover at this hotel for the 1st and last night. Hotel main hall and reception area looks great and staffs were friendly and helpful. Great service from the hotel staff especially the door boy who went out to hail a cab for us and also jotting down the taxi plate number,... More

The Dolton was a comfortable stay for our family. The room was clean, the hallways were well lit (not always the case with Chinese hotels), front desk staff were very pleasant and tried very hard to understand my American request for one of their complementary, fancy, scented pillows. The restaurant dinner staff were very, very slow and food for our... More

Spent a week here for family business. It hasn't been updated since we were there 4 years ago. Carpet in our room was yucky, and the AC didn't work very well so it was HOT in our room at night. It is nicely located and easy to access with the subway station, some places near by to eat or an... More

I recently stay here on a business trip. It looks like it probably was a very nice hotel when it was built but now seems a bit tired and in need of renovations. The lobby is lovely but the room had several carpet stains and looked like it was at least 10 years old. There was a very nice pool... More

Since I was attending a conference at Hunan Library, the location couldn't have been closer. The hotel is definitely not a 5 star one. The lobby is spacious, but the sitting area with sofa can probably sit a bit over a dozen, not much more. The breakfast is more suited to local than from the West.
