The stunning views and tranquility alone make this the perfect place to escape to. When you add in the spotless, well equipped villa and the charm, friendliness and enthusiasm of Kostas and Manuela, it is hard to see how it could be beaten. It is a bit further away from Makrigialos than expected, making it necessary to use a car... More

We had the most amazing holiday here. Costas and Manuella are absolutely fantastic people. So happy and full of smiles and stories. The villas are absolutely fantastic. Less than 10 minutes walk to the beach and 30 into the main town. Perfect spot and we will definately be visiting again next year! Thanks for an amazing holiday!!!!

My husband and I just came back from a super week staying at Ville du Soleil. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful, and the house we stayed in was lovely, with super views over the sea and olive grove below. We had everything we needed, and Kostas and Manuela could not have been more hospitable. Highly recommend.

Ville du Soleil is situated in the south-east part of the island, an area known for its coastal microclimate. This is not a 'holiday complex' but a small collection of privately-built traditional Cretan houses which are sheltered by a horseshoe of magnificent mountains with a foreground of olive groves. There is free TV and Wi-Fi but beautiful sea views were... More

Ville du Soleil consists of a small number of recently built, but in traditional style, two-floor villas. It is located on a hill overlooking the plains below it and the sea. The view from the terrace is truly superb. The villa itself is spacious, comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The owner is very friendly and ready to provide help... More

This was by far one of the best vacations ever. The house was great with free wifi and satellite tv. The rooms are relaxing with a great view from the terrace. Costas the owner is one of the coolest people I had the pleasure to meet. Very funny and outgoing. Chica, his dog, is a cute and lively young lady.... More

Recently built villa in a traditional style is a good combination. We were spoilt for space with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and large main room. The kitchen was well equipped and the welcome included herbs, oils, coffee, tea, home made jams etc (you get the picture). We did not make much use of the kitchen since Costas's recommended restuarants... More

Once upon a time....we met Kostas.....and then we found our second home! It has a beautiful panoramic view over the sea and olive groves. The house is very well-equipped, with a lovely and welcome package of food including local honey and bread, olive oil, home made strawberry jam and of course Raki! Generally is a very charming and elegant place... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"Ville du Soleil”, is located in the South-East part of the island of Crete, and is comprised of 4 double-floored stone-built houses & 2 bungalows. The houses are built in a traditional Cretan style with wooden ceilings and furniture, with a panoramic view over the sea and mountains, 500 metres from the beach of Laggada. The visitors of the houses have only positive comments to provide, concerning the beauty of the place and the personal care for their comfortable vacations, as can be seen in all internet sites. Costas and Manuela, the owners of “Ville du Soleil” have excellent communicative skills in English. As a Greek national, I can communicate moderately in German and my wife is a native French speaker. The business is open from 1st of April until 30th of November, however, since my wife and I live permanently onsite, we could potentially offer accommodation possibilities throughout the year. The experience that is provided in our business can potentially be expanded to an insider’s look to the area around, by: - organising hiking and bicycling tours, - olive oil seminars (I am an olive oil judge, part of the International olive oil Jury of "Der Feinschmecker” magazine. - daily trips to Koufonissi and Chrissi island, - visiting archeological sites of the area, - as well as an insider’s look to the local cuisine. The houses do not provide a swimming pool, however, the sandy beaches around the area and the relaxing atmosphere provided by the absence of the pool, is one of the attractions to our guests in the past 5 years of operation. I will be looking forward to hearing from you in the near future, Best wishes from Makrygialos, Konstantinos Dritsas ... more   less
