We never stayed over here (stayed at next door Avon Accommodation) but we ate at Settlers House in the evening, good meals and great atmosphere with live music. Owners really friendly and it seemed that it really mattered to them that everyone was having a good evening. Kids well catered for. We even went back for breakfast the next day... More

We went for breakfast and there were two other tables with a total of seven people sitting at them. We ordered breakfast and sat down... and forty minutes later we still hadn't gotten our food. We asked the waitress where it was and she said they had a back log of breakfasts (again, there were only 7 people in the... More

We were walking along the footpath when we heard live music coming from outside Settlers House. We decided to have a coffee. We sat in the out side area. It was very nice. We were part of a bus trip, the staff were friendly & helpful. We had a fun singing along to the songs. We are thinking about visiting... More

Country hospitality at its best, very welcoming and friendly. The food was very good, and warm and cosy atmosphere. Close to town centre and lovely place to sit and have a quite drink. Beautiful old building with a lot of history, will be going back again.

My wife and I stayed in York for our wedding anniversary and decided to have dinner at the settlers house. First impressions were cozy and inviting with live music to add to the ambience. Very warm welcome from the owners when we arrived and we felt like they wanted us to have a good time while we were there. The... More

Country hospitality at it's best. Very warm & welcoming hosts & staff. The accommodation is clean & the beds are so comfortable, everything you need is there. Great alfresco area with great 70's music playing in the background. Such a great vibe there. I highly recommend to everyone.

Pleasant weekend away, having stayed at the place many years back I had only a vague recollection of what to expect. The charm is still there, so do opt for a room in the original wing, dating back to the mid 1880’s ? Good points: Location, value, very clean, mostly comfortable rooms. Downside: Courtyard Area, could be more well maintained... More

Our welcome from Jen was a great start - so friendly and casual yet competent. The room were clean. However the outside area of the accommodation wing was pretty grotty - needed a big sweep and tidy up. Our room overlooked the public carpark, but it was fine as it is a pretty quiet town during the week! We were... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The original beautiful Heritage Colonial hotel is 170 years old and has seen a vast number of owners and businesses operate from within its walls and if those walls could talk they would surely have a lot to say given that it was originally one of the en-route stops to the goldfields in the gold rush days. Accommodation varies from modern early 2000's construction to the Heritage style rooms situated in our rear courtyard that offer a lovely sense of yesteryear comfort. The new owners opened the restaurant areas in late Oct/Nov 2015 and offer quality value for money meals in a beautiful and unique atmosphere, complete with air-conditioning in the summer and warm, inviting open fireplace in the winter. Various weekend entertainment will be held from time to time for the enjoyment of our guests and townspeople alike. The Historic York town is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway or family trip. Given that we are only about 1 hours drive from Perth, Settlers House York is the perfect place for your stay or take the short drive for a weekend lunch in our shady courtyard. We look forward to assisting you to "settle in at Settlers"... ... more   less
