Stopped in at York for lunch and happened to notice Settlers House down a little courtyard off from the main road. It is a nicely presented historic building full of character and charm. We decided to try it for lunch and were very happy that we did. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the menu was quite extensive, the...

Very clean and quite large rooms at an extremely affordable rate per night. In the center of town with easy access to cafe's, restaurants, supermarkets and the beautiful old architectural and historical buildings of the main street. Wish we had more time to explore the area and more of the beautiful old buildings that are easy walking distance. Love the...

We were taken by some locals to this lovely old building for dinner. It houses a restaurant and accommodation. We had very nice fish & chips - I think it was barramundi. There was also a 'seniors roast' available which one of our party enjoyed. The staff were friendly and helpful - suggesting that the 'seniors meal' was available.

This review is for dinner at the Settlers House not accommodation. When a storm took power out for York, I thought we would miss dinner. Walked into town and found several businesses just waiting for the power to be restored; however, found the Settlers House welcoming us in with cold beer and dinner available via gas. Delicious steak sandwich and...

Awful food. Chicken Breast burger cost $19.50 and came with two tiny and very dry chicken fillets, no breast, served on a Tip Top Bakery burger bun. Just awful. Nachos took over 30minutes to arrive and were mostly soggy, I guess they waited in the kitchen for 20 of those minutes They also have a door buzzer that goes off...

We never stayed over here (stayed at next door Avon Accommodation) but we ate at Settlers House in the evening, good meals and great atmosphere with live music. Owners really friendly and it seemed that it really mattered to them that everyone was having a good evening. Kids well catered for. We even went back for breakfast the next day...

We went for breakfast and there were two other tables with a total of seven people sitting at them. We ordered breakfast and sat down... and forty minutes later we still hadn't gotten our food. We asked the waitress where it was and she said they had a back log of breakfasts (again, there were only 7 people in the...

We were walking along the footpath when we heard live music coming from outside Settlers House. We decided to have a coffee. We sat in the out side area. It was very nice. We were part of a bus trip, the staff were friendly & helpful. We had a fun singing along to the songs. We are thinking about visiting...

Country hospitality at its best, very welcoming and friendly. The food was very good, and warm and cosy atmosphere. Close to town centre and lovely place to sit and have a quite drink. Beautiful old building with a lot of history, will be going back again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The original beautiful Heritage Colonial hotel is 170 years old and has seen a vast number of owners and businesses operate from within its walls and if those walls could talk they would surely have a lot to say given that it was originally one of the en-route stops to the goldfields in the gold rush days. Accommodation varies from modern early 2000's construction to the Heritage style rooms situated in our rear courtyard that offer a lovely sense of yesteryear comfort. The new owners opened the restaurant areas in late Oct/Nov 2015 and offer quality value for money meals in a beautiful and unique atmosphere, complete with air-conditioning in the summer and warm, inviting open fireplace in the winter. Various weekend entertainment will be held from time to time for the enjoyment of our guests and townspeople alike. The Historic York town is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway or family trip. Given that we are only about 1 hours drive from Perth, Settlers House York is the perfect place for your stay or take the short drive for a weekend lunch in our shady courtyard. We look forward to assisting you to "settle in at Settlers"... ... more   less
