Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We love the Mountain Mist Bed and Breakfast and have stayed three previous times. I always feel like I’m “going home” when I go there. The B and B is very clean and the breakfast is delicious. Mary and Bill do everything to make you feel comfortable!

Thank you for for being part of our very special day. You made a normally stressful and anxious time an absolute peaceful and wonderful experience. Mary you went above and beyond. Everything was so beautiful and incredibly delicious. All your little touches and thoughtfulness just made all spectacular. And the Bridal Suite WOW. Such a sweet surprise. Gorgeous , Cozy and quite Romantic. You put so much time and energy and it was appreciated more than words can say. Bill and Mary, you are two of the kindest people we have met. You made us feel at home and comfy from the first hello. We will continue to visit the Inn every year or hopefully even more. And that is not just because you have such a lovely place as you do, but to see the both of you and enjoy our time with your company. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts. We are already looking forward to the next time. Colby can't wait as well. He really had a nice time. All our Love, Donnie & Patti Demming :)

Quaint Bed and Breakfast in Waynesville. Excellent breakfast each morning and the owners were great. Also, thankful that they allowed an extra guest that unexpectedly joined us without any resistance. Highly recommend the experience and enjoy the back deck with the wildlife.

Brookside Mountain Mist Inn, located in Waynesville, NC - tucked away in the beautiful NC Smoky Mountains is one of the prettiest towns to visit! The innkeepers, Mary and Bill, welcome their guests with a warm welcome and go to great lengths to accommodate every one of them. Homemade cookies, brownies or other delights are by your door every afternoon (who could ask for more, right?)! Their rooms are exceptionally clean, very spacious and quiet. Special requests are rendered when requested! I've stayed here several times, and I can say this about every room and every visit (I've stayed in 4 out of 5 rooms)! Breakfast is a delicious treat every morning in the gorgeous dining room with wonderful food and a mountain view to start your day! French toast bake with berries and blueberry sauce, thick delicious bacon and fresh fruit cups; homemade cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs with cheese and sausage patties; fiesta omelettes, yogurt parfaits and coffee cake - some of my favorites! Mary and Bill do not let you leave the table hungry before you begin your day! And if mentioning my favorites, let me add the salted caramel pretzel cookies too! Ohhhh soooo good! Downtown Waynesville is such a charming and beautiful place, with so many shops and restaurants to enjoy. Jack the Dipper ice cream is a must! Lake Junaluska is breathtaking with all its walkways, flowers and beauty, so don't miss it! Hiking, cycling, biking, waterfalls, rafting, golf, festivals, theater, shopping, orchards, breweries (and more) are all here, whether you are alone, with friends/loved ones, with family or on business. If you just need a break for rest and relaxation, this is the place! Sitting on the back porch, sipping on a cold drink, cup of coffee or tea and taking in the fresh mountain air is here for you as well! The ambience of the large, open living room is inviting and relaxing to you while visiting also! I've been here to enjoy the fireplace during the cold months, and during the warmer months, to enjoy the cool! Games and socializing in this big room (with a gorgeous view) is perfect for one or a group! Mary and Bill have wonderful "guest closets" for you as well! One is filled with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water and sodas, while the other is filled with games, books, movies and entertainment - available every day, every hour! Gift yourself (or give as a wonderful birthday, anniversary or special occasion gift to someone else)! Visit this wonderful place and have a wonderful experience! You won't regret it!

Very nice rooms with quiet neighborhood and easy access to downtown Waynesville not far from Ashville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Great view of the mountains from the backyard and dining room. Good wholesome food served by friendly and attentive Staff who made extra efforts to meet our needs and see to our comfort. Happy with our choice to stay here and would stay here again.

We spent our 9th Anniversary here and it was absolutely great! Excellent location with wonderful views. Our stay was very peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. Mary & Bill were the best innkeepers/hosts we have had in the past 9 years of staying at bed & breakfasts. Mary is an amazing cook and makes everything homemade. She is very accommodating to your needs and/or wants. My husband enjoyed the daily morning chats with Bill. The Inn was extremely clean and well maintained. Rooms were stocked and decorated beautifully. The jetted tub was an extra enjoyment to our stay. They also offer a huge variety of add ons (chocolate covered strawberries, snack baskets, roses, etc). I would highly recommend Brookside Mountain Mist Inn B&B to anyone looking for an amazing place to stay while in Waynesville NC. ROOM: Beautifully decorated and updated. Very clean. Luxurious and elegant. Comfortable beds. Fireplace. Reading chair. Flat screen TV. ACTIVITIES: There is an array of activity possibilities nearby. You are close enough to all the neighboring cities and towns that you could visit many or all of them on your stay. Plenty of local shopping opportunities, attractions, golfing, etc. Cherokee NC is within a 20-30 minute drive and is a must see and visit. Chimney Rock is another nearby, must see, attraction. The activity possibilities are endless. SAFETY: Safety was never an issue or concern while staying at Brookside B&B. The neighborhood is safe and well kept. You must enter a code to enter the home and enter a code upon exiting. Therefore, you are always safe while staying at the Inn. FOOD & DRINKS: Food was exquisite and homemade. Wines available(I opted for the Red Moscato....excellent choice). Terrific coffee. I loved the option of getting to purchase the coffee and Brookside cups(which we did).

My sisters and I had the best experience at Brookside Mountain Mist Inn! We were there for four nights celebrating our February birthdays, and each morning we had a delicious gourmet breakfast and each afternoon wonderful sweet treats. On the last morning, we even had a "Happy Birthday" pick decorating our breakfast. One of us has some dietary restrictions which the hosts, Mary and Bill, very carefully observed. The Inn was beautifully and tastefully decorated for Valentine's (complete with chocolates in the foyer), and our room with two queen beds, sitting area, and private bath with large, walk-in shower and two vanities was very comfortable. Our hosts Mary and Bill helped us with suggestions about where to shop and eat in Waynesville and surrounding areas. We loved our stay and highly recommend this Inn.

I am behind on sharing our thoughts but better late than never! We had such a wonderful time staying with Mary and Bill! They welcomed us like long lost family. We have stayed in several B&Bs over the years. Brookside is definitely at the top of our list. My husband is more of the hotel type but he even enjoyed his daily golf chats with Bill. We really enjoyed breakfast each morning as well. Highly recommend staying at Brookside!
