This is my favorite place to stay in Mount Lavinia/Colombo. I've been staying here several times now during this year and have always felt very welcome. Almost like at home. This is a beautiful classic villa very close the the wonderful beach but also to the stores and restaurants. A quiet place with nice and very clean rooms equipped with satellite tv and fridge. You also get your own little patio outside the room. A beautiful little relaxing and cooling pool in which I spent a lot of time. Mr Tyrone was very helpful and assisting with whatever I needed help with, I really appreciated that. Very kind and helpful staff with excellent service. Very clean everywhere and good safety. A calm and luxurious feeling in this little oasis. I really recommend this place, you won't be disappointed! Well worth it's money. I will definitely come back soon.

I have stayed in the Villa in Lavinia several times already and always thoroughly enjoyed my stay, which is why I booked it again after an absence of 3 years.
These are hard times and we all have to make allowances for this, but I must say that the villa had a bit of a neglected aura. I have travelled a fair bit in the past 3 weeks and was very much spoilt and indulged everywhere, due to the difficult situation and the staff at the Villa in Lavinia also kindly offered emergency lights for the power cut and were very welcoming. Nevertheless, in comparison to some other places the Villa was less sparkling clean and inviting. For instance, there is a lovely little pool and they did offer to clean it for us, if we wanted to use it, but at the risk of sounding petty, it would have been nice, if it had been cleaned prior to our arrival and looking less forlorn. The same goes for breakfast. I fully understand that due to the scarcity of cooking gas and the covid situation, some guest houses are unable to offer breakfast at the moment, even
if it is included in the booking. However, most places have reached out to me beforehand to alert me to this fact and apologise, while in this case, I had to
enquire about the breakfast at check in, to be told that it wasn’t available.
Very minor things, to be sure, but in comparison to some of the fabulous rooms I stayed in recently, this one was not such good value for money.

I hope to return again, when times are less tough and the Villa has hopefully had a face lift.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind patronage of The Villa In Lavinia. We sincerely appreciate your feed back. Our apologize for any inconveniences caused during your stay. Our food and beverage operations were stopped since Covid and due to the present crisis and shortages of supplies we were unable to start up again. Hence the reason why we could not provide any meals to our guest. The power interruptions are another set back and even if we had a generator fuel was not available. Our pool is cleaned and guaranteed for safety. At the moment we are operating under difficult conditions and supplies are a challenge to obtain. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to welcome you in the future,

Two years ago I stayed at the Villa in lavinia when James dines was Manager along with his amazing chef Janik and staff. Unfortunately it wasn't the same this year...new Management. Two days after arrival I was taken to task by the new manager for a couple of Mark's on my towel??!! Not sure how it got there! Repeated and questioned by him a few days later!!, Mr R! It's a boot camp/boarding school you seem to be managing! Not what was once a family friendly place. Room staff very helpful and particularly Melanie in the kitchen. Sadly it's a shame cos I certainly won't be returning to the villa.

Dear Ms. Jilly, Thank you for your kind words and feed back. In my 40 years of experience this is the first time I have come across a valued guest who does not show respect to the hotel products. The many previous reviews have shown appreciation to our hard work, dedication and commitment to service. I would bend back-words to serve a guest who has respect to others and not abuse the god given blessings of money power. Kindly note the moto of RITZ CARLTON " We are ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen". Not with standing the above we look forward to welcome you at our hotel in the near future. God bless you, Tyrone Rabot. Manager

We stayed in the villa for the second time now and again it’s like coming home. Thanks to James and his team for great hospitality. The team is new since the last time we stayed but really nice and really tried their best to make us feel at home again! If you are looking for private, cosy accommodation close to Dehiwala and Mt Lavinia don’t look any further and stay in the villa.

I came to this place with a very low expectation as it is not a five star hotel, but the hospitality, friendliness and always can do service that i received is 10star, soon i arrived Mr Tyron ( the Villa Mgr) welcome me with a big smile” welcome to our home, its your home too“ wow !
Very basic facility but huge hospitality..
Great place for budget traveller, nice and clean residence. My sister is having a small wedding reception and the arrangement over, above and beyond by Mr Tyron , auntie and the boys!
No restaurant available on premises but you can order food delivery, The iron-board is rusted almost break-off but normally ill be fussy but the warm genuine family treatment that I received in The Villa in Lavinia, make me not seeing any defect! I will come back and i suggest you to go and experience the hospitality of The Villa in Lavinia

comfortable, clean room, modern bathroom with powerful hot shower. Friendly, English speaking staff. Good breakfast, eggs, juice, coffee etc. There is a little restaurant and the food was delicious and good value. The beach is just a short walk away. We arrived early after 24 hours travelling and were given a room even though it was 8am, in order to sleep.

This hotel / guest house is simply grand. Not fancy --- but clean, well-run, and very beautiful inside. Not the Hilton -- but certainly every bit as service oriented; and more friendly. It begins with the manager. James is helpful, knowledgeable, and very service-oriented. All the staff follow his example. We stayed there for two weeks while on our first trip to S.L. I had many questions months prior to travel. James answered all of them in a 24-hour turn-around. The evening porter Stephen welcomed us and really helped us become situated in the hotel and the city. The breakfasts are great. The pool is a evening moment of relaxation and a break from the heat. Rooms are quite comfortable; and A/C works marvelously. Only drawback is distance to airport; but the break from the noise and press of the city is quite welcome. Pay less and get much, much, much more at this friendly, lovely hotel

We stayed in the villa for 2 nights upon arrival to Sri Lanka. We were exhausted and when we arrived they cooked us a lovely Sri Lankan dinner which we really enjoyed. The owner is chatty and helpful. Had the best sleep ever after our long flight. In the morning I swam in the refreshing pool and had a delicious spicy omelette. No complaints. A great option for budget travellers.

Thank you for your inquiry, Family rooms can sleep four persons, depending on the age of you children, other families have managed before as the family rooms have two double beds. Approx 20 - 30 mins to Colombo depending on traffic and between 500 to 700 Rupees tuk tuk fare. I hope this helps Kind regards James THE VILLA IN LAVINIA
