Lovely hotel within walking distance of shops, beaches restaurants etc. can't wait to go back next year. Would recommend the hotel and Sunny beach to anyone who hasn't visited Bulgaria before. Very cheap to eat out and drink.

just returned from this hotel today the 29th September 2013 (must add firstly we should have been at the Belleville hotel next door but due to some cockup on god only knows someones part we were put in this hotel) anyway first impression of the Reggatta was good they put us on the 4th floor, lovely view, good size room, clean, we thought we had struck gold, sadly when we went to the restaurant (and I use that term loosely) we were confronted with very little choice and to top it all the hot food was not hot but mildly warm, the following morning was no better choice wise or heat wise, by the following sunday morning when there was no butter for my toast I had had enough and spoke to receptionist who got the waitress(who is a sullen faced miserable little girl who was more interested in her mobile phone and laptop and never spoke or smiled to anyone) who said she would have a word with the manager, I suggested he or she came and had a word with me to which she (the waitress laughed). when we came back later on the receptionist said she had had a word with the chef, who had said the food would be hot, when we went to the restaurant that night the food was hot and a microwave had also appeared, the choice still was no better and this carried on for whole of the two weeks, I must add that we were in the restaurant as soon as it opened in the morning and evening so it wasn't as if the food had been sitting around for hours (which shouldn't matter anyway) food poisoning was very much a possibility (they were very lucky, or we were) very much cater for eastern Europeans who were allowed to take food out of the restaurant even though the signs said no food was to leave the restaurant (staff turned a blind eye to that). Reception staff were friendly enough and the room cleaners always said hello and good morning (they are a credit to the hotel). The rest didn't seem as if they wanted to be there.(not a good advert). We have stayed in many hotels all over from 4 star down to 1 star, this hotel is definetly not 4 star when it comes to the food. Would we stay here again? only if they paid me.

Food was woeful, dining room staff stood like prison warders checking your portions, creating terrible atmosphere, photos of dining room, rooms and pool area must be at least 10 years old, cause I don't recognise those staged photos.
Maybe ideal if you like 1970s nostalgia.
Don't be fooled by any management reply on here, worst hotel I've ever experienced

Response from Hotel Regatta Palace, Owner at Hotel Regatta Palace
Responded 4 Aug 2024
I'm sorry, but the exchange office belongs to an external company and the hotel has nothing to do with it, and it's terribly incorrect to write against the hotel for things that don't concern it, and you've never been our guest. The people working at the desk are very correct people and after the incident, we have cameras and we saw that you swiped the 10 leva in question (equivalent to 5 euros) outside the hotel and it fell under one of the parked cars without you noticing. I recommend you to go to the ATMs outside the hotel and there they will easily charge you at least 15-20% to be satisfied. It's terrible to blame someone who is not guilty of anything.

This is a straight forward review, i will not complain about my about bedsheets, how often my towles were changed and that my holiday was ruined by something uncontrollable such as jelly fish, rain or mosquitos. There were jelly fish and we built a sand castle and used the washed up jelly fish to put in the moat (castle protected). It didnt rain, there were no mosquitos as its a built up area and i hear they dont like that type of thing, and i was too busy having fun to notice if my bed was changed everyday (which i believe it was).

The hotel is situated on a main road, far enough away from all of the bars and cluns so you dont hear the noise and music but close enough for you to be able to walk into sunny beach. Once in your room you do not hear passing traffic, the odd peep but nothing to moan about, it certinately did not interrupt ANY of my sleep. There are bus stops outside the hotel that can take you to Nessebar or Sunny Beach, there are also two water parks one in Nessebar (which is the best) and one in Sunny Beach, these are free busses that stop at said bus stop.

We stayed for 10 days bed and breakfast, if you like eggs, your onto a winner, they also have nice milk, cereals, fruit , cheese, ommeltte and ham(s). The hotel bar was cheap enough for drinks and they serve you if you stay by the pool in the day. The pool is clean and safe (no broken tiles etc). The hotel has its own currnecy exchange booth, its legitimate and offers excellent exchange rates with no comission so what it says you get, you actually get. The whole hotel has a modern feel to it as it has just been redecorated throughout, it smells nice, the staff are polite, speak good english and very helpful. As sunny beach is full of bars and clubs there are young people that stay there and the only bother we got was the intoxicating overpowering smell of old spice/Brut in the corridors at around 11pm when all of the boys went out. No noise, no shouting, no throwing matresses over balconies....just a nice hotel full of nice people and nice things.

The (Nessebar) water park is amazing, its 34 LEV for a whole day and you wear a wrist watch which you top up with money and swipe it when you want food instead of taking money in with you, what you dont spend you get back. There are shows on throughout the day which involve drinking and pegging it about on a wet stage why some people dressed as pirates throw buckets of water on you.....Please note, health and safety is not concidered as EVERYONE falls over. great fun though. There are about 20 different slides, 2 of which give you a colonic irrigation so remember to fold those arms and cross those legs on the way down. DO NOT get the lazy river confused with the mega wavy takes you an hour to get out and get thrown off your rubber ring but awesome rapids. all in all a fun day out.

The beach.....its nicest in the naked bit. Honestly.......nice sand, nicer sea and all over tans. we sunbathed on the outskirts everyday (in swimwear, beacuse your allowed to) and it was nicer, there are no naked Russian children walking into you followed by their big angry Russian dads. The rest of the beach was just busy but very nice, clean and well maintained.

There are too many resturaunts to review, we ate in a different one every night and they were all amazing, especally one in Nessebar called Stravota kotva on the marina, most amazing calamari ive ever tried. In Nessebar there are some old ruins so if you like taking pictures of old stuff, then you will like it, you can climb it also. There is also a beach in Nessebar and the water is much nicer (less full of seaweed), it is also busy and well maintained. The Ship reasturaunt on the beach (in sunny beach) amazing pizzas, plus you think your having your lunch on a boat.......but your not.

if your old or get tired fast, you can get places on bikes, horses (and karts) and segways with stabelisers. If you love full English breakfasts, drinking carling, and watching re-runs of only fools and horses......then go to Magaluf......as Bulgaria hits you with eastern European culture like nowhere ive ever been and im talking mafia (and their cars), men wearing two stripe tracksuit bottoms with hawian shirts and lace up shoes, im talking not being able to read anything as it all looks like Russian, im talking people frying chicken in cornflakes and calling it a meal, im talking Harry Krishners, Basshunter as Bulgarian resident in club Viking, need a tinkle and understand you will spend around £30 through out your holiday paying tiny old women to let you into a toilet where the floor is ankle deep in "water" and shes annoyed becuase you have interrupted her dinner, which shes eating outside a toilet. to sum it up, if your open minded you will LOVE this holiday, i will go back and i will stay at the Regatta again, amazing hotel, amazing holiday. Romeo done.

P.S check in at the airport early, there are some old planes out side and your allowed to climb on them and go into them, amazing experience. And dont worrry you can check your bags and then go outside, i dont think Bulgaria has cracked on to high level security just yet.

This is a fab hotel with a lovely pool and is ideally located with a short walk to the beach or a quick bus ride to nesebar or the centre of sunny beach. We recommend trips to the beach after dinner as it's still hot but quieter and great for the kids to play for hours! The hotel bar has happy hour 11-12, 5-6, 9-10 so we enjoyed a few cocktails by the pool (2 cost 7lev). We stayed half board with our children (6 and 9) who loved the buffet style food and tried things they wouldn't have eaten at home! The food is simple with lots of melon, plums, apples on offer at each meal. Breakfast has ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, bread and honey, yoghurt, cereal and usually desert from the night before! Dinner has several meat choices with potatoes and salad consisting of tomatoes, cucumber, olives and cheese (feta?). Desert is rice pudding, fruit blancmange, pancakes with jam or cakes. Bread and juice/water are also available. Our top tip is to arrive on time for dinner 6:30 as the best bits (cake) go quickly! Staff are friendly if you are polite and friendly to them and they work incredibly hard. We booked a studio which was enormous and had a balcony at the back of the hotel - not a pretty view but a good place to dry clothes! Safety deposit boxes are small - will hold passports/cash but not a lot else and cost 6 lv a day. Rooms are cleaned daily, towels every 3 days. We read reviews on here and were nervous about it but for us it was great! We had lunch one day at the bar opposite called favorit which was about £12 for 4 meals and 4 drinks and was delicious. You need to pay 5 levs a day to use the gym.

Myself and husband are just back from the Regatta Palace hotel and had a very pleasant stay there. The rooms are a lovely big size and cleaned daily, with fresh towels daily too and plenty of sun beds around the pool. We were booked in for breakfast too which was continental style, some mornings there was a lot more choice of food on offer than others but mostly it was good for continental style.
We found the younger members of staff to be much more friendlier and eager to help than the management, particularly helpful were Dimitrov (not sure on spelling), receptionist Anya and also Iva.
It is a walk into the town but the bus stop is directly across the road, 1.30 Lev ea for the journey, no matter how many stops you take. It's also the same cost by bus to Nessabar old town.
Tip: (1) Ask for poolside room when booking.
(2) Wifi reception can be hit and miss in the hotel, top tip: go across the road to Favorit bar for food/drink and get their wifi code - it works throughout the a Regetta Palace :))

There are two things which make this hotel very good - the fact that there are only 37 rooms and because of the fact it's a small hotel - there are no facilities for children; second best thing about it - the position of the hotel itself in regard to Sunny Beach. It's at the beginning of Sunny Beach (bus stop Favorit) - 15mins to Sunny Beach Center (which is extremely noisy and crowded) - 15mins to Nessabar (must see for everybody coming to Sunny Beach).
There are two awful things about the place - horrible, disgusting, boring, flavorless food. We just couldn't stand it. No way! Terrible!!! Second very bad thing - receptionists. There's only one receptionist who speaks very good English and is very nice and helpful. The other two - nightmare!! Extremely unpleasant, unhelpful and terrible in good manners.
I wouldn't say the hotel is very good - it's good. To be very good the things mentioned by me would have to be changed.
If you want to be in a quiet, clean hotel with quite big swimming pool and 5mins walking distance from the sea - choose RP. Don't go there to eat. There are a lot of good places to eat (eg Grill&Bar - opposite the hotel - I truly recommend)

During one month of travelling in Bulgaria, we planned to have one week in Sunny Beach, as we were backpacking, we didn't have a reservation prior ro arriving at the hotel. We walked for what felt like forever with our bags, along Cacao Beach looking for a hotel with availability. We eventually found the Regatta, right opposite the beach. I knew of this hotel before coming to Sunny Beach, so i knew the rooms where lovely and that it had been recently refurbed. On a scorching hot day, we walked into a refreshing, air conditioned lobby. Welcomed by a friendly reception ( i think his name was Daniel), only to be told they were full too! but they did have availability from the following day. They allowed us to relax while finding a place to stay via internet (with the use of their free wifi), i think they may of gone to next door hotels to ask aswell. it was excellent value for the week and enabled us to recouperate for a week, which we did to the max. We felt so at home here, the hotel is just gorgeous and Cacoa Beach is great, swanky bars with very expensive drinks! If you stay here and get a room with a balcony facing the rainbow apartments, then make the most of having neighbors, like we did! Everyone is really friendly around there, locals and holiday makers. I intend to return the The Regatta, there is so much to do around and with it being 10 minute bus ride to sunny beach night life - nothing is ever in your face. I would recommend going out for meals as food isnt great at regatta, fine for pizza and pasta, but if you want a good meal go to Walk about - on the main street outside the hotel and go right - its a 10 minute walk and its the best indian food! Best night club is probably Viking - when its busy. lots of nearby places to go, defiantly worth going to Nesebar for the day - cost like 1 lev or something and its lovely - also there are two water parks which the regatta is smack bang in the middle of - prob 15 min drive each direction. shuttles going to both of them too! - just stay open minded no matter what you do in Bulgaria! :-)

How food and beverages contents All inclusive light?

Do they have entertainment in the hotel ?
Answer from Hotel R
Hello, we work on all inclusive light, which is the cheapest option and does not include entertainment. We do not have an animation program for adults and children. There is all-day music in the hotel and around the pool to entertain tourists. I think you will have fun and I hope you will have pleasant and unforgettable memories of Sunny Beach and Nessebar.
Answer from Hotel R
Hello, We do not take an advance deposit for future damages. Only if there is any damage to the hotel property, only then it is paid but not in triple amount as in other hotels, but as much as the value plus delivery or installation. There is a table published at the reception and in the folders in each room. However, after the tourist living in a room comes another tourist and he also wants to receive the promised equipment in working order. Don't worry, we always cooperate with what we can. We are expecting you!
Answer from Hotel R
Hello, When you make a reservation with us, you pay an amount that guarantees you the reservation of what you booked - room, studio or apartment, with the appropriate meals. No other deposit is necessary. Greetings! We are expecting you!
Answer from Hotel R
Hello, Typically, we request 50% of the total amount as a deposit and surcharge at reception when you arrive at the hotel. All inclusive includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, soft drinks and Bulgarian alcoholic beverages, plus draft beer and white and red wine from 10 to 22 pm at the pool bar. We will be happy to visit the Regatta Palace Hotel in Sunny Beach for summer 2019. We believe and do everything to have a pleasant vacation and positive experiences! Greetings!
