We went to a wedding at Shaw's Hotel and Cottages at Brackley Beach and rented a large cabin for our family to stay. The wedding itself was wonderful as it took place outside. There are a few things I was disappointed in as this was a fall wedding after Labour Day. The resort was empty except for the wedding guests... More

Such a beautiful, tranquil setting. I could easily spend a couple of weeks there. The cabins are a little dated, but very clean and comfortable. We loved that all the cabins have decks with a small table and chairs. We enjoyed our coffee there every morning overlooking the water and marsh. They also have hotel rooms in the main house,... Our room was on the second floor, up a fairly step set of stairs (no elevator.) It wasn't modern but it was very pretty and comfortable. Dining room had very good food, with a very nice view of a river/inlet. Would definitely stay here again!

I really loved all the beaches in Prince Edward Island. My favorite beach was Singing Sands when you step on the sand it squeaks. I also liked Cavendish beach. It is really nice and has red stones that you can build with. When we were walking on the sand my daughter spotted a car made from sand. On the front,... More

Easy access to beach, bike trails and the kayaking was great to explore nearby cove where we saw bald eagles. The staff was polite, professional and helpful. We rented in the hotel and I think next time we would opt for a cottage. The nearby ( a few miles) Dunes is an excellent place to shop and eat.

This was our second visit to Shaw's. We love the calmness about the place with a short walk to the ocean. All the buildings are built to face onto one of the many bays in PEI. The water is always with you. We stayed in one of the cottages. It was well equipped and very clean. The towels are replaced... More

We were attracted to the Shaw family hotel because of its location near PEI National Park and Seashore, and the layout of the cottages around the property. We were thrilled with our cottage, which was close to the water where one can kayak. At night the sky was so dark that the constellations seemed huge, brilliant and in our faces.... More

We weren't staying here but wanted to cycle from Brackley to Dalvay. This location was easy to find and is in a great spot central to lots of great views on the North Shore. Bikes were in good shape, trail was well marked and Shaw's was very close to the beach. Very inexpensive rentals and had lots of inventory. Well... More

We waited until the last minute so we had trouble finding a room. We were referred to Shaw's by another hotel. We got the last cabin which happened to be a deluxe cabin (two bedrooms, one with 2 queen beds and the other with 1 king bed; cabin #17). We were so comfortable! The living room had an easy chair,... This is a lovely historic family run vacation hotel. The property is marvellous and close to beach. The mosquitoes were awful the week we visited which made being outside nasty. Overall my main issue was the mattresses in our cottage were far to soft and in need of replacing. Marvellous dining room I will review separately.
