I have to say I was a little disappointed with the size and overall condition of the room. It needs a refresh. The bed was very comfortable. The shower head was also older and did not feel strong enough. During Covid they have tough restrictions and do not make up your room every day. They were very eager to please and were quick to give us coffee pods, towels and glasses when needed. The pool area is lovely. The on site dining was ok. Visited both Restaurants but found the wine selection was not very good. Only a few average affordable wines then it jumped to over $100 quickly. We had cocktails in the bar every night and really enjoyed them but again this room could use an upgrade and some window cleaning. We found that it was pretty quiet during the week but on the weekend there were more offerings such as live entertainment an ice cream stand and snacks on the lawn. All at a fee of course. The nice restaurants in town are a 15-20 min walk but there is also a taxi service available which we used. Very safe and Covid conscience here. We did not have any concerns

Stayed 2 nights, mostly all the staff were very pleasant, nice views, grounds are beautiful, relaxing. Rooms are a little dated, I would suggest a room with a view of the St-Lawrence seaway. Our supper in the main dining room was a little disappointing, for the first course the price on the menu for the entree was like $23 which 3 of us ordered, then the waiter told us there would be a surcharge of $7.00 each for it (an entree)... why not put price of the day or no price? The main courses were just ok, one of the wine glasses had lipstick residue on it, waiter promptly changed it. Brunch was very good. At lunch we were served very cute mini ketchup and mayo jars with a past due date right on the cover of all of the mayo jars, we asked for new ones and waiter came back with snack bar tiny envelopes of mayo, then my friend flipped the folded crease and it was even more past date!!! We decided on another location for our supper on Saturday night and we were not disappointed, we had an amazing meal. The most disappointing was when I arrived at the spa for my relaxation massage at 3:00pm, I was told they did not have a reservation in my name! Sad when you are anticipating this luxury. I had booked online, called back to give them my credit card info and was told everything was good. Seeing my disappointment they offered me an exfoliation at a later time. When I came back the receptionist said she found my file, filed away instead of booked. These may be details but for a five star luxury resort, I am mentioning them so they may be looked into and corrected. I sent an email directly to their site mentioning these mishaps and never even got the courtesy of a response. My hats off to Jinny at the Spa she is great and the singer/ guitarist who did a great job of entertaining us on both nights. We still had a nice time. I still would recommend it, only hoping your experience will be better.

We have been coming to the Manoir Richelieu for several years and always loved it; however, this summer things aren't as great as they used to be, most likely because of the pandemic. The hotel is understaffed and the staff often don't seem to know what they are doing. For example: we were told on checking in that housekeeping services would only be every three days instead of daily; when the staff did come in, on the third day of our stay, all they did was make the bed (without changing the sheets) and bring in new towels without removing the used towels. We went to the bar for drinks and waited 20 minutes before anyone took our order. Hopefully, once the pandemic is over, the hotel can return to its previous 5-star standards.

I have to agree with the recent reviews of this place. Our stay was extremely disappointing.. The location and exterior are nice, but other than that, nothing about this place was worth anywhere near the 500$ it cost to stay a single night.

They say Wifi is included, but it’s so slow that you almost need to pay the 10$ « premium internet » fee. We had a King water front view, by which they mean “the water is visible only through these two tiny windows on the wall separated by an enormous section of dry wall in the middle of it.” The room itself was small and dated, with no toothpaste, no fridge, very few toiletteries in very small quantities. Absolutely nothing was complimentary, except for two dry creamer packets and instant coffee. Not even a dry continental breakfast. For $500 a room.

We had dinner at the St-Laurent because the Bellerive was already full upon our 4pm arrival. The hostess had no idea where to seat us. We followed her back and forth through the whole restaurant while she found a table for us. The meal cost us $125 for two plates of tough beef, a single green bean, some ill-tasting carrots, and honestly a single teaspoon of purée. No passion went into that food.

When it came time to check out, we waited about 20 mins while the person typed at the computer looking visibly confused and frazzled. We really felt for her, as she didn’t seem to have had proper training at all. In the end, she had me write down my email so that we could leave because she felt bad about making us wait. She was to send me the details of my charges and the invoice by email at a later time.

I know there are staffing issues at play, but they really need to train their staff better, because we could tell even they felt uncomfortable giving the service they were giving. Truly just a recipe for people to quit, so why not take the time to train them better before letting them on the floor on their own?

In the end, I booked a $500 room. The stay ended up costing $675. For a single night in a “luxury” hotel that in actuality, acts like a greedy, seedy, road-side motel, charging for every single thing, with nothing complimentary. You’d need to have some serious money to spare to think that this hotel is worth even half the price they charge.

Upon arrival to the Fairmont, we were not greeted by the valets, they were unwelcoming. During check in, we were asked to confirm our phone number so the Fairmont could text us on a special line. This number would be to use for requests, rather than calling "0" or room service. We were very excited to try this out, but we never received a text message during our two nights stay. We had to call for room service and physically go talk to someone at the reception desk to receive service as the phone requests did not go through.

When we arrived to our room on June 29th, we found foot nails clippings on the bathroom floor. The mini fridge was empty (supposed to be full). We found an open bottle of soda, half full, in our mini fridge, which was full of bread or cookie crumbs. We called "0" and explained the situation. We left for a few hours and when we came back, the floor was cleaned in the bathroom but the mini fridge remained dirty.

Every surface of the room was covered in dust and the shower had pink mold. We noticed that the ceiling started to leak when we came back to our room, at around 10:15pm. We called "0" again and explained the situation. We were told someone would be sent right away. By 11:15 pm, no one came so we had to put the garbage bin under to collect the water leaking.

The next morning we decided to raise our issue directly to the reception. The receptionist was surprised about our experience as she did not see any notes in the system. She requested someone to take a look at the leak. She could not offer us to change rooms as "the hotel was full". We also requested additional pillows and the do not disturb sign - which were never delivered. The leak eventually stopped on its own, but we had to hear every single drop leaking on the ground during our stay. Our room neighbours also smoked weed during our stay.

We were very displeased with the quality of the room and the service of the Fairmont. During checkout, we were not asked how our stay was, we were simply demanded to pay. We told the receptionist about our experience. She did not offer any compensation for our horrible experience.

For the price we paid for our stay, the quality of the service was above unacceptable. I would rather encourage a small BnB or local hotel in the area, which would care for their customers. I encourage anyone to do the same : support local businesses.

The only positive elements of our stay were the view from our room, the easy access to hiking trails and the small card + pastries for our anniversary that were delivered to our room.

Check-in was smooth. We decided to extend our stay another day due to the beautiful location and was told that the additional day would be at a slightly higher rate ($280 vs. $272) which we found agreeable. However, when we checked out we discovered that the higher rate was charged for all 3 nights. The issue was raised and the front desk staff promised it would be corrected. More than one week has passed already and no sign of the promised refund.

The room was a disappointment. The furniture was dated and the arm chair material didn't look well cleaned. The clothing closet had a rail that was too low which resulted in the Fairmont robes touching the floor and the Fairmont robes themselves were very shabby. The bathroom's shower curtain rod wasn't securely installed and when my wife opened the curtain the rod fell and just missed hitting her. I was able to tighten and re-install the rod and it didn't fall again.

On the positive side, we had good experiences in the pool and recreation area, and at the golf course (pro shop and course attendants), and the geography and hotel location is amazing. If we do visit this region again, we will try different accommodations.

Had a 5 night stay in July 2021. Check in was incredibly long (30 minutes) with only 2 out of the 3 check-in stations being staffed at prime time. Our room was fine but a bit outdated and showing its age. Staff overall was pleasant and they were very generous in free marshmallows for roasting in the multiple fires on the property. However, I was incredibly disappointed with the cost of everything compared to other Fairmont properties I've stayed at. The St Laurent restaurant, which bills itself as the fine dining option, was underwhelming in terms of quality of food and the portion sizes were abysmal. I've eaten at many fine dining restaurants, and this pales in comparison. If you wanted a coffee in the morning to go, the only place to get it was at the Bellerive restaurant, which is completely inefficient. Having a separate small takeout place for coffee/pastries would be a welcome addition. Yes, my room had a Nespresso machine and they supplied pods, but the water container was absolutely filthy and looked like it had not been cleaned for years. There is a St Hubert restaurant at the casino which I thought I would be able to grab something inexpensive for the kids, but it's 18+ and dine-in ONLY. For a Fairmont, the value I received is not proportional to what I paid. Am never coming back to this property again.

Lovely location some helpful staff ! Very pricey for a somewhat old fashioned room shower wasn’t great over the bath very difficult to turn on .we thought very expensive for everything thing only one bottle of water for the entire stay no milk have they ever drank tea w coffee mate ? Couldn’t get any milk when I asked all too much trouble ! We had however a fabulous breakfast very nice serving staff . Also enjoyed the pools & excellent gym . We played golf amazing course well worth playing. Sadly the young man at the pro shop wasn’t customer friendly very rude . He needs sorting out ! Stunning views .generally .

Positive: beautiful hotel architecture, views on st-laurent are second to none! staff is overall very nice

Negative: I understand there is covid of course so that the experience is different. However I found the quality of the hotel significantly lower than I expected for the price (around 400CAD$ / night). Rooms are small, bathroom is also very small. It feels like the hotel needs a major refurbishment. Small annoying things in the room for a hotel of that price such as: window blackout curtain not closing all the way down, light system not convenient. We left some stuff in the hallway hoping that it would be picked up (and so did other rooms) no-one picked it up for almost 24hours (glasses in the hallway etc). Doors do not shut properly for a lot of rooms around us, therefore lots of noise when people close their doors, not good when you try to put your kids to sleep. Not child-friendly hotel. Almost nothing was offered to us to help us with our babies (no plastic cutlery, no offer to wash our baby dishes after a meal). Only one waitress offered us plastic bowls the last day of our stay. Our children are 1 and 3, def not the place to go with small kids. we had all our meals at the restaurant and even after 3 days they were still asking about QR code, there should be a way to show it in their system so we feel like they know us after 9 meals. (other hotels during our trip recognized us and stopped asking for QR code). I undertstand the additional pressure during covid but when you charge 400$ you need to offer better service or you need to lower the price further to make up for the lower experience. My opinion only.

We had an amazing 4-night stay here after being in Quebec. Loved speaking French everywhere and all of the amenities (heated pools, snowshoeing trails, ice skating, ice fishing, spa, etc) and enjoyed the food. Incredible views and multiple places to enjoy a fire both inside and out. Recommend the manor tour (thanks Rémy!) and that you ask for an overview of all recreational options, as no one provides one without asking, which made us laugh quite a few times! Really enjoyed ice fishing with Xavier. We loved meeting the 4 beautiful Percheron horses in the stables, but were quite disappointed to see how they’ve been cared for. They’re kept in these stalls that they can barely turn around in and their pen barely allows them to do three Gallup’s. They only leave the stall or tiny pen to work pulling the carriages. The horses all have marks on their skin from the bridles not being padded and look like they haven’t been brushed or washed in weeks. We loved the experience here but were quite disappointed that a five star resort would keep their horses like this, especially when the resort has so much land and seems to be profitable. The other aspect we disliked was the lack of quick/inexpensive food options. Basically if you didn’t want to eat a huge $25+ meal, you had to leave the hotel or not eat. (We did discover the casino restaurant to be more reasonably priced). Loved the gala we paid extra to attend on NYE! We can’t wait to come back here, maybe in the summertime next time. I do hope to see the horses looking much happier and better cared for next time we visit.
