We stopped in for a drink with the kids and managed to park outside the pub. They have a large beer garden with a lovely children's pirate ship play area. They kids spent ages on it making up games and using their imaginations. Pleasant staff and reasonably priced drinks, we will be back.

Filthy, dirty rooms, cobwebs everywhere (I know it was Halloween, but even in the bedrooms really??). Rubbish behind the bed, mould growing around the windows and bath. Our friend in the room next door had springs coming through his mattress and stained sheets! The only nice thing I can say is that the duvet was soft! We were part of...

Along with the cobwebs hanging from the light the rubbish behind the bed and furniture the mouldy window frames and corners of the bath, the pitted bath and 1970s shower with either hot or cold water that won't mix, the naked man wandering the corridor, the drug taking blatantly in the bar toilets, we've had to pay £50 per room...

Shocking is the only description I have. Overpriced rooms, £50 per night and they are filthy. Mould everywhere, broken door and windows, stained furniture. The communal bathroom had punch holes in the door, was dirty, mouldy and just horrible. In the bar downstairs people were openly drug dealing and the bar staff were partially clothed and swore a lot. I took...

Have stayed here a few times and whilst not the most palatial of venues it is perfect for what I needed. Clean tidy bedroom and bathroom and reasonably enough priced. Breakfast not included but easy enough to add on.

Not a good experience. Room looked tired ("en suite" smaller than a caravan's) and smokers' bothy right outside window creating noise till midnight. No hot water for a morning shower - a boiler issue but it's pretty important to get right when you have guests. Dining room was tired and dated. Breakfast was a huge disappointment- transport cafe style. Landlord...

I try to come here as often as I can, mainly on a Sunday for the carvery which to put it plainly once you've eaten here you won't want to go anywhere else! The food is just simply to die for and I cannot recommend enough. The welcoming is always warm and being a village pub, I never feel like...

Stayed in the Bird in the Hand for 3 nights. When we arrived we were welcomed by a very warm and friendly landlord and landlady. The double ensuite room was clean, warm and comfortable with tea and coffee facilities and had a lovely out look onto a beautiful beer garden ideal for family's with children, where there is a stage...
