I'd like to start by saying that we paid £350 for one night in this hotel.and I have had better rooms and far better service from hotels I have paid £50 for For our second aniversary my wife and I thought we would splash out on a posh hotel for the night and decided to do a spa day. Due...

Several issues with the room, hair hanging off the radiator, the broken blind, the view from the tiny window only if you stand on a stool, bed springs poking through, bathroom tiles filled where previous fixtures were. And this was a renovated room! Service issues: asked for tea and got coffee, asked for more tea and got rebuked for asking...

We visited the spa Champneys Henlow as day guests to celebrate my birthday. Although the reviews for the place were mixed, we had high hopes based on the reputation the place has historically. Unfortunately we were deeply disappointed. The place is dated, tired and lacking the wow factor that you would expect from a spa that even boasts it's own...

Like many others we were very disappointed. The place is very dated and quite run down. The room was nice but looked across a dilapidated courtyard (ground thick with leaves, chairs lying on their sides) with a workman working outside our windows. The room was overlooked from the main corridor to the treatment rooms and spa so we had to...

I love the old style feel of Champneys. So many places have a more 'corporate' feel these days. All staff are welcoming and willing to help with queries. I have had lunch here on several occasions. When I asked if it was possible to have a copy of a recipe the Chef (I think his name was Ollie) came out...

Booked a spa day for myself and a friend. I was expecting luxury but most certainly didn't get it! Beautiful building but boy isit dated and run down! Treatment rooms no better than my local high street, food was pants, jacuzzi was stone cold same water as the swimming pool, garden and loungers were nice though, but I would try...

This was an extremely special treat with my two daughters and so I was disappointed with the tired and dated decor, ugly lighting and cold common parts. The whole place desperately needs a make-over. We did not get much of a welcome on arrival and finding my room with heavy luggage was a struggle. Our bedrooms were very comfortable but...

The staff weren't particularly warm happy or inviting. Rooms were noisy and beds not that comfortable. Steam room not in use. Not enough beds available at pool side. Customer service not great at dinner no bread offered no butter or balsamic and oil we had to ask for everything. Plates at breakfast especially weren't clean. A hair was present in...

Incredibly poor service from start to finish. Staff couldn't seem less interested if they tried. Quality of food was beyond awful. Only saving grace was that on the whole, we were happy with our treatments. Pool and hot tub were freezing, limited seating in the pool area. Will never revisit or recommend.

We had a very relaxing two-day mid-week break at Champneys Henlow in November. Good facilities, nice room, friendly staff and great, super-healthy food. Exercise, pool area, sauna and treatment area were all clean and in good condition, had an excellet massage utilising some of the very good on-the-day offers. Can't fault it, but if you wish to have a lay...
