Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

What a great hotel! We travelled from Wales with our children (10 & 13) to visit Legoland and decided to choose the Crowne Plaza to use as a base. They were so welcoming and family friendly. Great choice of food and fantastic customer service!

If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, warm, welcoming, smiling, attention to detail staff then, Crowne Plaza, Gerrards Cross UK should be your next stop. What a difference it makes when a new team of staff make you feel at home. My very recent stay for 2 nights has left me totally recharged simply because of staff 'Twinkle' from 1269 Restaurant Bar and Grill, 'Victoria' from Reception, 'Gabrianna' from the Club Lounge and Bar and Grill and of course the General Manager- 'Edward' all of which went that extra mile (or two) to attend to my needs. My partner and I have been going to Crowne Plaza for the last 10 years and this has been the best service by far. In addition to the full functioning facilities- steam, sauna, jacuzzi, swimming pool, treatments and the most comfortable bed and clean rooms, you have no choice but to return home floating on cloud nine. We'll be back! 16th-18th June 2023 Room 311

All roads lead to Crowne Plaza, Gerrards Cross for a special fantastic and fulfilling holiday experience. The venue is beautiful and the beds are very comfortable for a restful night with sweet dreams. The Spa area is superb and very relaxing. The Staff are very professional and friendly: Alison in Events; Savvas, Desider, Twinkle, Chef Charlton & Urvashi in the Restaurant; Raymond & Ibraheem at Reception; not forgetting Chris in Room Service, to mention a few.

We stayed here as a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children as we were visiting Harry Potter world the following day. We had booked interconnecting rooms back in January but there had been a mix up meaning our rooms were opposite each other instead. The staff worked hard to rectify this and we were moved to a junior suite instead and the children had camp beds. It was a good size and the master bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The staff could not do enough for us and were super friendly to the children. On the Wednesday evening we returned to the hotel after going out for an evening meal and the children wanted hot chocolates so I asked if reception had any more sachets. They said to leave it with them and a really kind lady (blonde hair unfortunately I didn’t get her name) brought us up 5 hot chocolates 10 mins later. We were really impressed with this and the children loved it. The make your own pancake machine at breakfast made the stay even better as it was a highlight for the children as was the pool. When we checked out they had taken some money off our bill for the room mess up so we really felt we couldn’t have asked for better service overall. Yes like other review say their are a few tired parts of the hotel and pool area that require attention but the friendly and helpful staff more then make up for that.

Good property in excellent location and very attractively priced. Picked up a rental car at LHR late on a Sunday afternoon and needed a place to stay before driving to Merseyside next day. Property's convenient location to motorway network made this attractive. Quality of property and friendliness of staff exceeded expectations. Room was average size but nicely appointed and quiet. Food and drink service in the bar area on Sunday evening met my needs. Breakfast was significantly better than the average "road warrior" hotel. Taken for all in all, and at a price of $100 USD for the night I'd say this was an outstanding value and would not hesitate to stay here again as its proximity to LHR (15 miles) is ideal. (I would be cautious about travel times at peak hours, though.)

My stay here with my partner has been excellent. At reception Wiktoria went above and beyond to give us what we needed, then later on at the bar Allwyn made sure we were well looked after. Both these people made us feel special on our stay. They have two local beers on selection here that I recommend.

Negatives: I booked the deluxe king room, It was a bit disappointing as the room was quite small. Just enough space for one person to walk around the front of the bed. No space to put your toiletries in the bathroom as there is no counter. Pillows were not tucked in the case properly they were sticking right out and there was a hole in my shower cap that is supposed to be new. Quite clean but the room size was small for what you pay. Dinner was very disappointing poor quality meat for steak and we ordered it to be well done and it still had quite a bit of blood . They forgot our sides (vegetables) so had to take it off the bill at the end. Service was very slow also. Breakfast was okay, very runny scrambled eggs but depends how you like it. The steam room was not working on Sunday morning, quite disappointing as this is what we came for. Positives: Very kind staff and friendly - I put in a request to wish my mum a happy birthday and they made her a special birthday plate with chocolates!! Very nice :) Great spa facilities and ambiance in the pool room Clean facilities

Dear 639kristianas, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry that our Steam Room was out of action on the Sunday Morning. As with any unexpected mechanical failure our team work with contractors to ensure things are back in working order as soon as is possible. I have shared your feedback with the restaurant team so they can review and take the remedial action required. We are pleased the team were kind and friendly they were able to accommodate your birthday plate request. Once again thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. regards Chris

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and honestly, the only thing that made it tolerable was that I was with my husband, and we can make the best of most situations. I'm genuinely befuddled by the rave reviews. Just don't look at anything too closely and you'll be fine. I have stayed in many many 4 star hotels, some of them spa hotels. This one is not good. The bar was short staffed on a Friday night. Then their blender broke and they couldn't make crushed ice cocktails from Friday night to Sunday night. No one could make a decision to get a back up blender? Very poor management. The 2 girls at the bar were lovely and honestly working so so hard trying to keep everyone happy. I hope they're paid properly. This hotel is very very child friendly. This is a good thing for parents. A lot of gentle parented children were running around unsupervised. Not the hotel's responsibility. However, we had booked the restaurant for Friday night and Sunday night. Both those nights, the restaurant was closed. Very obviously to cut costs of staffing. So you eat your limited menu , meal at the bar area with children doing zoomies around your table , it is not zen. On Sunday we booked a proper restaurant at Beaconsfield to avoid a repeat of Friday. The lady handing out towels at the spa area was very clearly done with the public and their nonsense. Very rigid with rules around robes for hotel guests vs robes for spa guests. Pool, sauna, steam room is dirty. Bring your own wipes and flip flops. Paint peeling off on stairway from changing rooms. Leaks from ceiling. Grossness. Changing room has broken doors and broken lockers. Definitely not cleaned properly in some time. Don't believe the lies about the jacuzzi being for 16yrs + Friday & Saturday I witnessed little children in the jacuzzi pressing the water cannon. Some were diving from the edge of the jacuzzi into the pool area. The Breakfast is CHAOS!!! We had 3 breakfasts here. It's spartan. Who organised the lay out? Eggs , sausages, pastries and fruit salad frequently ran out and took an age to be replaced. Poor quality bacon. Sour fruit. And all the staff were clearly busy, they were trying. The reception staff are brilliant. Rooms are adequate. The beds are so good I'd love to know where they got them to buy one of my own. See, silver linings. This hotel is average at best. I wouldn't recommend for an overnight spa stay.

First impressions were good, check-in was quick and the room was a decent size and clean. The first issue came when visiting the spa, apparently as a hotel guest they won't give you a robe and you have to go back to your room to get the robe from there. The pool area is ok, but it felt a bit tired and in need of a refurb and deep clean. We had booked a table at the restaurant for the evening of our first night, but the restaurant area was closed and we were served in the bar area from the main restaurant menu. There was live music in the bar, which isn't ideal when eating but the food was very good. Breakfast service was the same on all 3 days - bad. Expect intermittent low availability of key breakfast items, and no available staff to ask. On the second day we had treatments booked in the spa, these were excellent. On the third day we went back to the spa, but now we were told that we didn't have access to the relaxation room. Despite having an email promising that we had full access to spa facilities as a hotel guest - this isn't true. We had also booked a table in the restaurant for the evening, which was again closed. However, this time when we were seated we were given a reduced bar menu with no explanation. If we had wanted a bar menu we would have booked a table in a nearby pub. So we booked somewhere in Beaconsfield and ate there. Simply put, if you want a relaxing 2-3 day spa hotel then is is not it. The hotel was ok, the spa was very good when you can use it and the pool facilities are functional.

Unfortunately this time round wasn’t as good as our first experience of the hotel, when we stayed here last year. On arrival it was busy to check in and the receptionist rushed our checkin didn’t give us any information on opening times of any of the facilities, which I thought wouldn’t be a problem as I assumed their would be literature in the room to give that information, there wasn’t. Which meant a trip back to the reception to join the queue again to get the information we wanted. Another big issue this time round is the club lounge is no longer available which is a real shame as it was the selling point of this hotel for us, especially as that’s the reason we used to book premium rooms for the access. So defeats the point of a premium room now as they are not much bigger than the standard ones anyway. The pool and spa is still quite good. The bar and restaurant feel under staffed it’s quicker to just go up and order direct from the bar, as table service is pretty slow. Overall it’s not a bad hotel but not as good as it used to be.
