Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were only in Cheadle for one night and The Manor was a perfect stay for us. We had a room overlooking the garden which was warm and comfortable and beautifully clean. The breakfast was great with loads of choice and all really tasty. Agnes was fab, really helpful throughout the booking and could not have been more friendly. Location was spot on as just a short walk to Pugin's Gem and plenty of places to eat. We booked direct with the hotel and it was fantastic value; we would highly recommend it.

Fantastic place , brilliant host in Agnes , super helpful, everywhere clean and fresh . Only complaint was breakfast was to early 8-9 , but to be fair Agnes would of done a bit later for us but we are 10am at the earliest people , but she did supply us a takeaway sandwich each, again super helpful . Anyone staying in Cheadle would highly recommend this cracking BnB. Dave and Lisa Mather

OK place to stay, convenient for Alton Towers, does need some tlc, breakfast only served for 1 hour, between 8 and 9, tea cups stained, rooms were OK, paint crumbling off some walls, shower doors leak due to old seals, soap dish hanging off, cleaning products left in one room but bathroom unfortunately not cleaned, garden looked nothing like the pictures, appreciate they were taken in summer but just looked tatty when we were there, hallway had a chemical smell, just not sure how it's classed as 4 star. If it was to have a bit of a refurb could potentially be nice but as for now unfortunately we won't be returning.

Lovely stay here. We stayed for 3 nights 2 adults one child) the welcome from Agnes was lovely in fact she was amazing throughout the stay. The room was nice big enough and clean. The breakfast which was a buffet style was very nice, with locally sourced produce and nothing was too much to ask for. The car park is at the rear of the hotel and not the one you see at the front and our only nag about the place was the auto lights in the bathroom just didn't stay on long enough. Aside from that we lived it here and will definitely return

New owners are trying to offer an up market hotel but if they are going to be successful at £100 per night for a single stay, they are going to have to try harder!! Accommodation is in a self contained annexe - this is very basic with thin walls - noise easily travels from bedrooms above and alongside. Breakfast was a very ordinary buffet - some of the cooked food was overcooked - bacon and hash browns were inedible - gave up on second day - left early and went to Tesco in Stoke-on-Trent - they are rapidly becoming my favourite morning venue. Do not understand why hotels cannot compete.

We were 18 in total and we were well received and welcomed by Agnes. She was so lovely and very helpful. We had the stable that sleeps 8 and 3 other rooms and they were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was lovely and personalised to individuals request. Very close to Alton Towers. We'll recommend and stay again. Thanks Agnes.

It was my little boys birthday and Agnes made his absolute day! She is an absolute credit to this lovely hotel! The breakfast was delicious! (Pancakes especially). Agnes put a balloon in our room for my little boy as it was his birthday and even let him and the other children who stayed feed the fish in their lovely pond! The garden is stunning so tranquil! The rooms were so clean and so quiet! We had the best stay there and will definitely be back next year! Thankyou Agnes for just going above and beyond!

This place is under new management so bare that in mind if reading previous negative reviews. We just got back from a 3 night stay, breakfast was lovely. We had cooked breakfast one morning and scrambled eggs other mornings. Our son had cereal and melon and plenty of juice and milk. On our first night it was soo hot but Agnes provided a fan, this would have been fine for myself and my partner however pur toddler was a little uncomfortable through the night. I hadn’t really said this to Agnes thinking it’s out with their control really, however she offered us a cooler room on lower floor AND moved all our stuff down while we were out for the day. I’d say this was going above and Beyond for your customers, I really appreciated that she cared enough to suggest the room move as we hadn’t complained atal. Very attentive hostess all round really she’s an asset and I’m sure new owners will find this a very successful venture while Agnes is taking care of things!

Very comfortable accommodation & quiet room. Beautiful walled garden to sit in & Koi carp in the pond. Delicious oatcakes for breakfast, one of a wide choice of dishes. Agnes was the perfect host & looked after us very well.
