Myself and my partner stayed for one night here for a last minute trip to Alton Towers. We didn’t expect too much, we just needed a bed for the night. Well boy oh boy were we pleasantly surprised by The Manor. Firstly it is very lovely and picturesque - the hotel has a beautiful courtyard. Its in a very quite corner of the high street so is not too loud or over crowded. The rooms are fairly basic but they are clean and well kept. Breakfast is included, and was delicious - I ordered eggs benedict and my partner, the fry up. Both meals were absolutely scrumptious, my partner even said it was miles better than a wetherspoons fry up for sure! Peter, an older gentlemen who runs the b&b, was so kind and lovely - a real sweetheart. Staff are very attentive all the way, with Peter taking our breakfast order the night before and giving us directions. Overall and amazing stay - Highly recommend.…
We were greeted by Peter, the owner, who was very friendly and welcoming and impressed that he knew our names and where we had come from. Our room was very clean and overlooked the lovely garden. For breakfast we started off with fresh fruits and yogurt before greedily also having a cooked breakfast. It was delicious and Peter couldn’t have been more attentive. Apparently Alton Towers is only 15 mins away so when we next take our granddaughter we will definitely be booking a family room here. Thank you for a very comfortable stay.
Second stay while visiting Alton Towers. Booked directly with Peter the owner and smooth from start to finish. Room was spotless and beds so comfy after a long day. Breakfast is amazing, such fresh produce and cooked to perfection. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and can't wait to stay again.
From the moment you walk through the door, you are greeted with the charm of the building and its hosts, this wont falter throughout your stay. A short distance from Alton towers with ample parking, lovely rooms and an amazing breakfast. The gentleman who checked us in (host) was very charming and knowledgeable about the area, he pointed us to restaurants/shops a short walk away. Thank you very much for such a wonderful stay and all the very best of luck for your charming business.
We stayed here as a family, 2 adults and 2 teenage boys. We had a ground floor family room with a double and two full size singles. The room was warm and comfortable and we all slept well. The breakfast was amazing - full English, gorgeous bacon and perfectly cooked poached eggs. The two boys had bacon and sausage baps and scoffed them down with relish. The welcome was fantastic. Just before we arrived the host called us to check our arrival time, he then talked us through the one way system in the village to direct us to the walled back parking area. The gardens were full of promise (the time of year meant there were few flower but there were hosts of daffodils and tulips coming up), there was a large pond with fish - some big ones too! There were seating areas and I imagine it would be fabulous to sit out for a while in warmer times. I would definitely stay again should the need arise and wholeheartely recommend it.…
Highly recommend this charming guest house, we stayed for one night only after a visit to Alton Towers. We had a family room on the first floor and everything was as described on website. Peter is very helpful and charming and the breakfast was one of the best we have had. It’s very centrally located in the town with everything in walking distance, but when sat in the gardens you would never know that! We will definitely stay again
From the booking experience to checking in to my actual stay this place has been an absolute pleasure. Clean rooms, friendly staff and an amazing breakfast! I would give them an extra star if I could x
Six boys all in our 40's wanted somewhere to stay for a weekend of walking, fresh air, good company and a decent pint. The Manor was a perfect base. Peter and Anne were very welcoming and really looked after us. The full cooked breakfast was served piping hot and was delicious. The waiting staff were also excellent. The Manor is located minutes away from a couple of pubs which we sampled before and after our walks! We would all recommend a stay at The Manor!
Peter and Ann, it was a pleasure meeting you firstly. We had a fantastic time as a family staying with you. Great service, went above and beyond with your food recommendations also. Very clean and helpful when needed. The kids enjoyed playing in the grounds also what a lovely garden area with fish in the pond If we make the trip down from Scotland again, we know where to go.
Spotlessly clean with excellent facilities. Breakfast was wonderful, the homemade pancakes and smoked salmon-on-muffins, to die for! It sounds strange, but the fish pond is a real treat-we spent ages just staring at it. Those fish are certainly living their best lives. Owner Peter is a character with a certain sense of dry/spiky/authoritarian wit-be prepared for this, and you will get on with him just fine.
