We used to go to the place quite a lot but since when it has become a football matches viewers our visits are more rare. I can understand people watching the football all together having a drink and commenting but I really cannot understand why the bar area has to be mainly for football fans as it is impossible even just think to your own businesses as the tv commenting is so loud that a conversation with the person sat next to me is impossible. I am not visiting again as it is a very unpleasant environment.

Great meal in Nelsons here at the pulford hotel and spa! We were on our way back home to warrington from Snowdon and having been before we thought we would call in for a meal before heading back home. We both had the fajitas which were really nice! Great staff/service! Which makes a difference these days! Food gorgeous too again!

Sadly, a very disappointing anniversary … Scammed via hotel website link on Expedia secure booking platform - paid for room x3 … no apology, or acknowledgement - just a “speak to your Bank”! Two “trainee” reception staff on arrival who were unhelpful & their lack of ability to programme key cards resulted in us having to visit Reception 3 times - queuing each time! Room (No 26) was not cleaned properly & was very basic - my husband referenced on booking our visit and was for anniversary celebration … no mention of this at all! Walls/ceilings are paper thin - don’t expect to sleep! Random magazine shoot promo with a gaggle of photographers where we were made to feel like we were intruding. Booked spa massages which were mediocre at best, mistake booking near end of day! 1 Spa Reception staff was very helpful (Katy I think) but Sarah needs to learn basic customer service skills - perhaps start with a smile!! Looked forward to using the Pool, but was full of kids & “spa day” customers! Only positive of our stay were the team in the pub restaurant who were efficient, very pleasant & gave us a Happy Anniversary plate! We won’t be back …

My wife and I stayed here on a couples get away for the evening. The hotel is tidy, well presented and it's situated on lovely grounds. We opted for the 'executive room', which we were told would be bigger than the standard room, however I don’t think this can be the case as the room was still on the smaller side of other 'executive' suites we've stayed in and I cant see how a standard would be any smaller. The room was nice enough, however some small repairs are needed to chipped paint, marks on the headboard etc. On the bed are firm pillows only and no option of a softer pillow, which other hotels of this calibre often offer. The major downside was that the room was very very warm, uncomfortably so, with no working air con. In fact, the heat issue spread across the hotel and was too hot throughout. Given we stayed early April, it's not a particularly warm month and the internal temperature far exceeded that outside. On check out we did make mention of the heat as it caused broken sleep, but the receptionists only reply was "I'll note that". Breakfast was lovely and possibly the best hotel breakfast I've had before, fresh, crispy and not the slightest hint of grease, with great variety. Would I stay here again? Possibly if the air con situation is addressed, although I'd be reluctant to pay to upgrade to the executive room for what it is. Overall an OK stay given issues with the Nelsons bar too, also reviewed.

From first arriving through to the end the staff and service were exceptional. The rooms exceeded expectations. We did not have an opportunity to try all of the facilities but what we did better than met expectations. Value for money! We did have one issue with service in the pub where we ate on one occasion. Things can go wrong in life and this matter was dealt with quickly and professionally so did not detract form our stay. Can't recommend this hotel enough.

This is a fantastic hotel. Clean, modern and luxurious. The staff everywhere were excellent- friendly and attentive. Got a half board deal on lastminute.com which included £30 per person allowance for the restaurant for evening meal. We went in Nelsons, their gastro pub option. Waiters were fabulous, replenishing water jugs without being asked. Portions were massive! Great choice and delicious. The breakfast was brilliant, buffet full English served in the most beautiful dining room. Best scrambled egg I've ever had! We normally like to go to carden Park, but it's really expensive. This is a fabulous alternative and we will be looking for more deals here in the future!

Well, first of all we booked it through Expedia which turned out they advertised a room occupency of 2 as 3. This is not the hotel's fault but Expedia. However Jiya on the hotel reservation team took care of it and sort it out smoothly for us. Well we were expecting the room to be bigger than what we had but we managed. All in all the room was lovely. However, we were shocked to find some issues with the housekeeping side of the room but mainly the toilet. PLUS we didn't received any robe and slippers in our room. However, I must say that all our issues were promptly dealt and solved by Anya at the reception. She is such a lovely person. Even though there was no housekeeping team at the time we notify them about the issue in our room,Anya and the her supervisor personally came and apologised. Anya herself did the cleaning and came each time we were reporting any issues. Anya has dealt with our problem with a smile and we can see that she really wanted our stay to be perfect. I must say that Anya is really an asset to the hotel. I am giving a 4 star as the housekeeping team need to make sure every aspect of the bathroom is cleaned properly and work towards the hotel's standard. Also It will be nice if the spa staff could be more friendly and welcoming. Not to be bias but some of the spa staff need to learn hospitality from Anya. We will definitely be back mainly because apart from the Spa we found that most of the staff are so kind and patient just like Anya. Haha, I feel that I am writing a review about Anya rather than the hotel as we were so impressed how she took care of all the issues and promptly solved them without even us calling twice. ALWAYS WITH A SMILE. This is what makes a great hotel and customer service. I can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there. We went out to Chester but the staff at breakfast were also very welcoming. We will be back definitely but hopefully we won't have the Same issues.

After waiting over half an hour and not being approached I had to go and find a waitress and ask if they could take our order. Someone eventually came over 20 minutes later. The starters arrived and I was disappointed at the size of the starter, it was all bread and no mushroom , my partner had duck parfait and it was cut that thinly you could nearly see through it! The six coin size pieces of toasted bread were more than enough had it not been for the fact that the last three pieces were all crust . The main meals arrived and they were just ok, for the price charged I would have expected more than frozen chips and hard frozen peas. Deserts!? My partner had a knickerbocker Eaton mess for dessert and the cream on the top had gone off, I was sour!!! I have to say the waitress Rose was very good and took the dessert off the bill and my partner was offered another which he declined . I feel that the level of service offered by such a highly rated establishment was very under par for the prices charged . I conveyed all this to the management and was promptly assurance that it would be dealt with and an email would be on its way to me by the Food and Beverage manager. This never arrived. I emailed several times, the hotel manager, owner… still nothing. Only good feedback gets a response! Not the way a business should conduct themselves!

We attended the Jersey Boys tribute dinner and dance as a party of 8 & stayed for the night in the hotel. The hotel is very impressive with lovely reception area and kept clean throughout. We used the spa facilities which included heated indoor pool, sauna & steamroom all were spotlessly clean.Rooms were nicely furnished & included toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was included in our deal which was an extensive buffet served in the Palm Court restaurant which has a lovely ambiance. All staff were very professional. The tribute show was very good indeed and the food was exceptional. We all enjoyed our stay and willdefinitely return.
