We stayed here due to location for a visit to the family. The reception staff were friendly but that was about it. The corridors were musty, the rooms tired, the towels grey, thin and ragged. Breakfast was diabolical. We got there at 9.20 and there was not a member of staff in sight. The help yourself cooked breakfast was cold...

We booked our three night stay at the hotel to be close to family and, being easily accessed from the M6 made it idea with ample parking. We specifically asked for a room upgrade from the standard room booked and, reading the other reviews now, are very glad that we did. Our room was excellent, well decorated, spacious with good...

Wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel . Desperate need of refurbishment, rooms grubby , damp on the walls around the window . Curtains wripped and torn . Bathroom grotty and looked dirty . Too late to change hotels as we had a family party to go too otherwise I wouldn't have stayed . Think 1 star is too highly rated...

We stayed here while visiting family locally, it provided a great base and with the main routes close by it is well placed. You cannot hear the motorway nearby, and the grounds and attractively maintained. The interior is being refurbished, which is tasteful and comfortble. The conservatory was not yet finished but will be a great addition. The bedroom was...

I attended a training course here recently and whilst the training facilities were OK the venue was poor. They have had a refurb in the main bar/ restaurant/ lounge area which on first glance looks ok but spend more than 5 minutes there and u will spot huge imperfections! The new open plan conservatory looks nice but is cold as...

My wife and I had Afternoon Tea today at the Chimney House Hotel. We were made welcome at reception and shown to our table. There was a variety of tasty sandwiches, five different cakes for each of us and a scrumptious scone with jam and cream. Hot water was available to refresh the tea and a fresh pot provided when...

The hotel is ideally located near the M6 and looks attractive in nice grounds. However, on arrival there was no one in reception and it took a while to check in so not a good first impression. We struggled to find the room after poor directions by the disinterested receptionist who sent us in the wrong direction. Maybe it would...

Afternoon tea with champagne at the Chimney House Hotel in Sandbach. This was a Christmas gift from our daughter. We had a very pleasant afternoon. There was plenty of choice on the sandwich/ cake stand and a choice of tea or coffee to go with it as well as the glass of champagne. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Having stayed at this lovely hotel a week ago we feel we have to comment and warn other people about the service here. The hotel itself is lovely and the rooms were nice but unfortunately when it came to having our evening meal we had to ask where we should sit as no one told us and we felt a...
