Simply the best. If you were the most pernickety person in the world, you wouldn’t find a single fault with this place. Beautiful place, comfortable, and everything, down to glasses in the fridge for your chilled white wine. And the proprietor was a real gent. Lovely chap. Would recommend a stay here.

We had a wonderful week in Chirk Cottage. Fresh flowers and lemon drizzle cake were there on arrival (baked by Catherine) and the cottage was lovely and cozy. The wood-burning stove was a real treat. You have everything you need and the bedroom makeover is absolutely beautiful. It was very interesting being able to meet the horses stabled on site and the dogs were great fun. We sat outside and had coffee overlooking the fields and it was lovely to walk down to the brook and sit on the garden bench to watch the sunset and the wildlife. There are lots of lovely pubs and coffee shops within easy driving distance and it's less than 30 minutes' drive into Chester. Catherine was a great host and we would definitely come back.

We have just spent a week in a cottage on this farm. If you are a doggy person who loves horses this is the place to come. The cottage is literally 1 up and 1 down but is still spacious. As well as a bottle of wine in the fridge and a cake for us there was a doggy welcome box for our Labrador. There is plenty of garden for the dog to run around in and table and chairs outside to enjoy the wonderful view with a glass of wine. The cottage was spotless and well supplied even down to logs for the wood burning stove which we lit twice. We would love to visit again and there is also a three bedroom lodge opposite which we would like to take our family too. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks in the cottage and found it very comfortable with lovely views. It is a working Stables and waking up in the morning to the horses being walked and most days they were in the arena which is easily viewed from upstairs. The stables working day starts early and the dogs on the farm will make themselves heard when the staff arrive. Plenty of country smells but we loved it and our stay was made that much better by easy parking and the owners so friendly. WiFi was not that good but was good enough to log on to check emails etc Would stay again

Visited with my husband for a short break in November. Sat Nav and directions on booking made it really easy to find and we were welcomed by Catherine with a chocolate cake, wine, fresh eggs and milk as well as fresh flowers on the table and a roaring fire already going. This little cottage has a good kitchen, really comfortable sofa and high double bed, clean and warm. We travelled to Manchester (50 mins) and Ellesmere (25 mins) and there was plenty of walking and village amenities locally too. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 3 nights. It was a lovely cosy room and the guest lounge was nice to sit and relax in. The house was welcoming and Catherine was friendly. Breakfasts were spot on. So nice to stay somewhere so welcoming, and the kids loved the dogs! Really nice little touches like tea, coffee, hot chocolate and nice biscuits in the room, spare toothbrushes and amenities pack in the bathroom including a shower cap, cotton wool, flannels etc. Good recommendations for restaurants in the welcome folder too. Can't recommend this place highly enough. And it was an ideal base to explore delemere forest and Chester too.

Fantastic place to stay. The cottage is attached to the farm house, with a working dairy farm and stables next door. It's a beautiful area, lovely and peaceful, with the cottage very well equipped and very spacious for 2 people. We arrived to find flowers, a complimentary bottle of wine, a home-made chocolate cake, jug of milk and 6 freshly laid eggs waiting for us. Catherine, the owner is very friendly and kept us supplied with eggs as required which tasted delicious. The nearest pubs are 2-3 miles away. There's a welcome pack in the cottage with the nearest pubs/eateries. We visited 4 different ones and never had a bad meal. If you're looking for a peaceful week away, you won't go far wrong with Hill House Farm.

We stayed here as part of an Equestrian Escapes and it was just lovely. Catherine, the host, was lovely too and her cooked breakfasts were just what you needed to start a day of horse riding. The room we stayed in overlooked her livery yard and the we were greeted in the morning by the family's very cute scottie dogs, Brody and Tinker. The beds were very comfortable with an en suite shower room that was ideal. The location was rural and quiet too. I would have stayed longer if we could so I hope that we can return at some point and do it all again.
