We stayed for two nights, we arrived during the recent storm Doris, tress had fallen but staff were very welcoming in a difficult time. Our room was very good, great size and very clean. The staff are all very good, we had two fantastic evening meals from the a la carte menu and the following evening the alternative menu, both...

The Landrover experience was fantastic. The instructor was excellent. Cannot rate it highly enough. The hotel was hopeless. Very very poor service. We had to ask for everything at least 3 times. 1851 restaurant decidedly average. Cold plates, cold food. I paid a supplement for a Ribeye steak that was no better than my local Ember Inn pub, where it...

Stayed 2 nights for a meeting and had a wonderful sleep in a magnificent bedroom. Woke up to a delicious full english breakfast, which helped repair my body after the night before, drinking in a gorgeous round stone bar. Following the meeting our group paid for a falconry session, which was very informative and good fun, but the weather was...

My wife and I stayed at Peckforton Castle on a package including dinner, bed, breakfast and spa package. This was our first trip away in a while so I paid a little extra for an executive room. On arrival at the hotel, the first impressions are incredible and the castle in set within some woodland in a very remote location,...

Yet again Peckforton Castle has surprised us. We booked a standard room but imagine our surprise when we found we had a four poster bed. The rest of the break was made wonderful by the professional, friendly and helpful staff. Can't wait to go back.

Wonderful venue for our friends wedding. However the facilities and the room which we were allocated was not family friendly due to the location. No lift to the floor which our bedroom was located which meant we were unable to take our child's Pram up to the room. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor as the door did...

I have been meaning to write this review since Christmas and apologise that it has taken so long. We have stayed at Peckforton Castle several times now and I have reviewed it before, but I felt that I must write to commend your staff on their amazing customer service. We stayed for Christmas 2016, our second Christmas with you. When...

Thank you Sally for your review. I am glad that you have had an overall good stay, enjoyed your massages, and Afternoon Tea with us. I am sorry to hear, however, of the issues during your stay. Your comments do surprise me as they do not describe what I believe to be our usual high standards here at the Castle....

This was our 2nd stay and it was just as wonderful as the first. The castle has beautiful rooms and is set in woodland area. The food was beautifully presented yet reasonably priced. The castle has lots of nooks and crannies to explore. The Wine Cellar is a great setting to enjoy a drink or two.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Peckforton Castle - An enchanting Hotel in the heart of Cheshire. Rising majestically above the Cheshire landscape, the castle is both enigmatic and enchanting. Originally the home of Lord Tollemache and built in the early 19th Century, this Grade I listed building is the only intact medieval style Castle in the country. Over the years the castle has been the location for numerous movies including Robin Hood and Dr Who. Now owned by the Naylor family, the stunning exterior has been complemented by a loving and considered restoration programme resulting in a magnificent hotel and venue offering contemporary luxury and impeccable service. Services include 48 stunning individual guest rooms, conference, events, and wedding facilities for up to 180. Tranquility beauty, on site Falconry and team activities all adding up to a rather magical experience. Dining at the Castle truly is a special occasion, welcoming the public as well as hotel guests. The 1851 Restaurant offers a dining experience fit for royalty. Holder of 3 AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award. Alternatively the more informal and cosmopolitan 2010 Brasserie, located in the former scullery of the castle, features many of the amazing features of the original scullery including two cast iron cooking ranges dating back to the 1840's. Peckforton Castle's enchanting medieval style beauty and stunning location make it a truly impressive and desirable venue for weddings, christenings, birthday parties, or just about anything that's worth celebrating. Everything plays a part; the fabulous setting, stunning location, the attentive service and smiling faces, the bespoke menus and decorations. A magnificent venue for conferencing and meetings. Within the medieval walls, old and new combine seamlessly to offer state of the art multi media and conference facilities. Captivating on arrival, Peckforton Castle's unspoilt, natural beauty will stimulate and motivate, delight the eye, inspire the mind, tantalise the taste buds and leave you enchanted. ... more   less
