It was so much fun to stay in such an historic 450 year old home. Our hosts couldn't have been any nicer. Our room was comfortable and cozy. Our hosts were so kind and friendly. Our breakfast was delicious.

We rented Stonethwaite Cottage (previously a B&B) for a week. All the bedrooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. Downstairs there is a cosy sitting room with open fire, a fabulous dining room and a galley kitchen. There was also ample space in the hallway for all the kit that goes with walking in the Lakes. The cottage is in...

We booked the farm cottage for a family weekend away with elderly parents and out little girl, age 7. This cottage was perfect for us - plenty of space and toilets, in a fantastic location. Easy walks from the door and a pub just around the corner. The charm of the cottage itself was a bonus - tastefully decorated with...

This farm B&B is strategically located on the C2C path in Borrowdale, and only 3 minutes walk from the local pub. Nice room, bathroom, and bed, and even very funny postcards for sale. Next morning straight onto the C2C path again.

We stayed for 2 nights in April. Rainy weather, but the rain held off long enough each day so we could explore this lovely spot in Borrowdale. The B+B is a working farm; Tracey and Nick were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, despite being really busy with lambing! The room was warm and comfortable, and we had the use of...

We spent a night here as we walked the C2C. Lovely location, hospitality and breakfasts. We enjoyed the glimpse into a working farm operation. Quiet and cozy with a pub around the bend of the road through the tiny village. Views from the farm are just a tantalizing hint of things to come if you're walking the Coast to Coast...

Stayed here for one night on the c2c. Very good location just off the route. Our room was very comfortable with very thick walls. Very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was very good. Pub next door but one so very convenient . However it is closed on Mondays. Overall a very nice b & b.

We stayed here for one night as we walked the Cumbria Way. A true 'chocolate box' location with a very warm welcome! Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities are excellent. The pub is just a few yards down the road (but is closed on Mondays). A great place to rest and revitalize!

A nice stop off on night 2 of the C2C. A friendly welcome and a much welcome bathroom after night 1 of camping. Top breakfast too, would stay again on the C2C. At the back of a pub too which always helps!

The main thing about this pleasant B&B is the epic surroundings of the beautiful Lakeland fells all around. Although ideally placed for the C2C it is also easy to do fantastic circular walks straight from the door: we climbed 10 summits straight from the b&b over 1 week-end. On to the b&b itself: it is a very warm and cosy...

“This isn't a B&B anymore. Its been renovated and is available to rent as a self catering cottage. A big loss to people wanting a room for a one night stay, but a big gain for families and groups wanting to stay for a bit longer in a perfect location”
