We stayed here in some very cold weather but when inside you would not have known. There are several open fires and many comfortable sofas for dark, cold winter evenings. The food was very good although my husband was disappointed in the sea bass on one night.(It was well cooked but flavours not to his taste). Our other meals were...

We had enjoyed an afternoon tea at this hotel a few years ago and the experience was fantastic. My 40th birthday was coming up and my parents offered to treat me to a special afternoon tea and they gave me the choice of where I'd like to book it. I narrowed my choice down to four places. The Daffodil hotel...

Dear 'HappyCrafter3' Thank you for your review, I'm sorry to hear your recent afternoon tea experience was not up to our usual high standard and we were unable to rectify this on the day. We have a duty manager on duty everyday who is available to assist our guests and review first hand. We have received lots of positive feedback...

We met up with friends for a weekend. We found the staff welcoming and helpful. The food delicious and the rooms spotless and nice and warm. We will be going back. We stayed the last weekend in November and the hotel was already decorated for Christmas. It looked beautiful

We booked a deal which included tea and scones on arrival , three course dinner and breakfast . On arrival we were given an upgrade to a lake view room with balcony which was beautiful...

Decided to stay here for an overnight after a seasonal visit to relatives in Blackpool. We were running late( well later than we had hoped) and it was getting dark. We hadn't stayed at this hotel before and were slightly unsure of how far down the road it was....no need to worry as you can see the lights almost from...

Dear 'Jim G' Thank you for such a glowing review, so pleased to hear you enjoyed our hotel. We are a traditional hotel and in the new year the hotel will be updated but fear not we will be keeping that traditional feel. I'm sorry to hear the room was rather hot, I will look into this. Excellent Lake View room, well worth the extra expense. Dog friendly. Very attentive and welcoming staff. The food in the main restaurant left much to be desired. The starters and the sweets were just about acceptable but the main courses were dire. Shame, because everything else was well above average.

Had a weekend away here via Secret Escapes and it was wonderful. The hotel is typical English genteel. Lots of comfy chairs fires and food. The Xmas decorations and the frosty weather coupled with snow on the mountains made it feel festive. The staff work so hard and the food and drink was perfect. Loved it! Thank you
