My son and I stayed for one night last week as part of a mountain biking roadtrip we were on, the plan being to stay the night before we went to Whinlatter Forest. Having travelled down from a days riding at Glentress we were tired and just wanted to relax in a comfortable room. We absolutely couldn't have been made any more welcome and the room was stunning, very homely yet modern and comfortable. We were so pleased to just shower, kick back and relax in our (provided) dressing gowns. It rained heavily so we didn't manage to get out for a ride or walk locally but to be honest we didn't care. We both slept so well in the comfortable beds and were refreshed in the morning. We ordered breakfast digitally the night before and it was very, very good. We had the option of ordering a packed lunch however we didn't take this as we were planning to eat at the Whinlatter cafe. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, yet not overbearing and provided us with secure bike storage overnight and provided the weather forecast the next day. They look like they have adapted very well to the Covid requirements and my son and I felt very safe. I urge you to stay here if you're in The Lakes, I promise you will not regret it.…
Immaculately presented room, a stunning location, and a very tasty breakfast! Chris & Roger obviously take great pride in their property and enjoy looking after their guests. We felt most welcome and will be back! Thoroughly recommend.
Ghyll Farm was a beautiful hideaway on our C 2 C walk. Our room was large, warm and comfortable. The breakfast was matched only by the charm of the owners. They were so great that when we left my rain jacket in the room, they found it and put it in our luggage so that it was there when we got to the next stop on the C 2 C. Simply put, they could not have been better hosts. Now, if only they would purchase some Tabasco sauce for their American guests, they would be perfect--inside joke.
What a wonderfull area and such a lovely b&b: everything you needed and more! Feels like a honeymoon to us. Roger and Christine are a nice couple and have a lovely cat:) The perfect get away from it all.
A beautiful B&B in a stunning location run by Chris & Roger, Wonderful hosts . We had a super spacious room with a great comfy bed and an equally large very modern bathroom, spotlessly clean. The views from our window onto a colourful garden over looking the fell's was superb and very relaxing. The breakfast was brilliant!! A definite return to be planned.
