We had a lovely stay at Ghyll Farm B&B. We walked coast to coast and were very happy to sleep in a luxurious room with a very comfortable bed. Great breakfast with fresh fruit salad. The location is a bit further from the route, but thanks to the help of the caring hosts we were able to continue our hiking via a short cut. We can also recommend the tasteful lunch package they offer on demand.

Set in a beautiful location above Ennerdale village and a short walk from Ennerdale Water, this is a gem to stay. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast superb and the tranquillity to dream of. A must to stay if you're in the area or Coast to Coast-ing.

The standout features of this lovely bed and breakfast were the exemplary customer service, the peace , tranquility and beauty of the view and gardens and the quality of the accommodation and food. Faultless in our view.

With regard to location, all of our guests so far have said they prefer the tranquillity (and a good nights undisturbed sleep) to a livelier establishment. Most walkers like to get their heads on the pillows long before the pubs shut (must be the country air!) and so the benefit of peace and quiet outweighs the extra 1.6 miles if you are on the C2C.

In addition to being comfortable with a warm welcome and a lovely breakfast Ghyll Farm was so peaceful! The only sounds were those that nature provided. Our hosts were very helpful in providing information about walks and routes

Thank you for taking the time to give us a lovely review and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. There are not many places that you can wake up to bird song without any background noise which makes Ghyll Farm such a special place.

We had a 1 night stay at Ghyll Farm as part of our Coast to Coast trip. It is such a lovely place! The hosts, Roger and Christine, were extremely helpful and very attentive. The B and B is in a beautiful location with lovely views across to Ennerdale. It is a bit of walk from Ennerdale Bridge, off the main Coast to Coast path (about 1.5 miles) but it was definitely worth the extra walk. Our room was very well designed, comfortable and very clean. Big comfy bed, excellent bathroom, everything we needed. Each room has a little outdoor seating area in the lovely garden. Breakfast was really delicious and of high quality. It was served in the conservatory attached to the main house with beautiful views across the garden towards Ennerdale. Overall it was a perfect stay. We would highly recommend and we would definitely stay again if we were in the area. Thank you Roger and Christine!

Lovely lodge type room in an idyllic setting. This place really is worth you going (slightly) out of your way for. Owners were super helpful and attention to detail really appreciated. Gardens are also surprisingly extensive and beautifully set out .

If Carlsberg did B&Bs……….I have stayed in numerous B&Bs in the Lakes over the years but this is the best. Sublime Lakeland setting, gorgeous room with its own outside table & chairs within the lovely cottage garden looking over to the fells. Charming, helpful, but unobtrusive, hosts (thank you Roger & Chris). Oh, and superb breakfasts and packed lunches! I will be back!

Thanks for such a great review. So glad you enjoyed the breakfast and Chris's packed lunch. She tries to convince me that the calories in the cake go straight to the legs to help the walking. Doesn't seem to work for me sat at the computer. We are so glad you had a comfortable stay and look forward to seeing you the next time you visit the Lakes.
