We have just returned home from Thanet Well. Would absolutely recommend this park for those that want to explore the north of the Lakes. Under half an hour to Keswick, and about 50 minutes to Lake Windermere, it was an ideal location for us. The staff at reception were great - a VIP bag for our dog on arrival with treats and a ball. There is a small shop at reception too with all the things you’re liable to have not packed!! The lodge itself was huge - very spacious. I was slightly worried when I saw previous reviews about cleanliness and can absolutely say our lodge was spotlessly clean. Obviously a pet friendly lodge I expected there to be obvious signs of previous dogs, but there were none. Can’t fault the cleanliness at all. The kitchen was well equipped with crockery, cutlery and all the utensils you will need for your stay. The hot tub was maintained daily and emptied on the morning we left. There were TVs in each of the bedrooms (not smart TVs which was the only thing we missed as we could have watched prime/Netflix of an evening - but there are DVDs to borrow at reception. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wouldn’t recommend staying here. Lodge was named blencathra view however, no real view of this. Hot tub cold as cover was destroyed and had large gaps exposing it to rain and cold. On arrival one of the patio doors was open and did not close, had to get site to lock us in and advised not to use it to access patio. advised they thought the door had been kicked in and unable to fix while we stayed? Utensils dirty with food and grease. Floor very very dirty. Most light bulbs out. Fixtures and fittings in the lodge very very dirty with cob webs and dust and just general dirt. Windows very dirty. Blinds stained and need replaced. Not very clean lodge at all. Not really worth the price paid in my opinion many better, more comfortable sites within 5/6 miles. It could do with good clean, update, smart tv possibly and a hot tub cover that works.

Thanet Well Lodge was the nicest holiday park we have stayed on with Hoseasons. The lodge itself (Elonby2) was extremely large, clean, perfectly styled and the price was very competetive with other parks. On arrival the staff were really friendly and very efficient as everyone seemed to be arriving at the same time. We were given all the details we needed for our stay and a layout plan to find our lodge. There was a small shop at the reception which had all the basics which you might possibly forget. In the lodge, the kitchen was fully stocked with all the appliances and utensils you would need. Each bedroom had a TV, there were 2 bathrooms, one with a full bath, a dressing area and the lounge/dining/kitchen area was very large. It is the perfect place to stay, relax and chill out or to venture to others areas for your holiday. We will definitely be back again. Well done Thanet Lodge. Btw, couldn't get my husband to put the duck in the bath :)

Me and my husband stayed with our dog from Friday 23rd till Monday 26th Feb. We arrived just after 4pm and the reception staff were friendly and check in only took a couple of minutes. There is a shop where reception is with every day basics like tinned foods, sauce, cooking oil, rice, juice etc. They accept card payments you pay at the reception desk. We stayed in Elonby 2. There was plenty of space in the lodge for us and this would have been big enough for a family with children. It was really clean and tidy. In the kitchen you got some tea bags, coffee, sugar and a couple of biscuits. A small tube of washing up liquid, a cloth and a pot towel. The lodge was warm and the thermostat was on the wall to adjust. There was only 1 pan so depending on what you’d be cooking you may need to bring another. There was plenty of space in the living area for us to put the dogs bed while we was watching tv. The tv could do with updating as it’s not the best quality and it’s also not a smart tv. The WiFi also needs updating. Reception said it’s due to being remote but we have stayed at other places near by who have had WiFi no problem. We had a lead that attached to our iPad and then into the back of the tv and we managed to get onto Netflix and the WiFi held up thankfully! If you have children the lack of WiFi may be a issue (My husband has a teenage son and we have a teenage niece and nephew and when we stayed in Wales for the weekend last year the caravan didn’t have WiFi and it was a bit of a pain in the evening! So wouldn’t bring them here due to the WiFi) this is just our personal opinion. Space in both the bedrooms and the bed was comfy, the curtains were black out curtain which was great! The site was a small site and we did a couple of laps in the evening before bed just so our dog could have a stretch. We had been on big walks during the day so this was fine. A dog run field/area would be good for this site though. The site was also very quiet and peaceful, just what we hoped for. I have attached lots of photos and even of what is provided in the kitchen just as I do find things like that helpful when looking at reviews.

What a lovely stay we had a Thanet Lodge Retreat, the perfect location with peaceful surroundings and amazing views. On arrival we were met by a very friendly lady at reception, she welcomed us and answered all of our questions. The Lodge itself was excellent value for money, very clean and spacious with all of the amenities that we could need for our stay, a nice welcome pack with tea, coffee and some washing up liquid was the perfect additional to help us get started as we forgot to pack the washing up liquid! We were out for most of each day and were pleased to return each evening to a tranquil environment and enjoy a soak in the hot tub, we had plenty of privacy in our location and felt it was the perfect place to recharge after long days on the mountains. Will 100% be returning and look forward to coming back soon. Thank you ☺️

We stayed in Elonby 2 lodge, number 45. The furnishing is lovely, modern but stains on the sofa which is off putting and some bumps and marks to furnishings too. The place is quiet and calm, really liked this. Location is remote but this was perfect for us and what we wanted. Bed is comfy and cosy. However some points we felt to raise: - Hand soap only in one of the two bathrooms, had to carry it between the two - No smart television.. a big issue for us really, we’re not avid television watchers but it’s nice to settle down after a day of hiking and watch Netflix. Not applicable. A box is attached but it’s a DVD box and you can’t connect it to the internet (albeit there is a Netflix option) raised this with reception and they said none are smart - wifi and signal are poor, signal is understandable but wifi is odd to have minimal signal that doesn’t really work - Bring your own fairly liquid, a small amount is provided with an scourer and a tea towel which is good - 1 medium size frying pan which was dirty and food simply stuck to it! - extractor fan doesn’t work, meaning the lodge would smell of cooking - No hoover or mop - Shower and bath were either boiling hot or lukewarm, difficult to set the balance

What a lovely lodge! Exceeded our expectations! Was absolutely spotless. Dog friendly, loved the little treats and toy given for our dog, nice touch! Hot tub was amazing and well maintained :) only thing would say that it is very secluded but plus side has amazing views!

For the price we paid, we were looking forward to staying in a luxouris stay in one of your lodges however I was very disappointed. Upon arriving home and reading the reviews (which I should have done before booking) I noticed that cleanliness seems to be an issue at the retreat which should definitely be taken into consideration. During both mornings, we had no hot water which resulted in no heating. We had to call reception on both accounts- two guys arrived both mornings who were extremely helpful however we never received an apology directly from the reception team. We stayed at number 70 lodge, which had a few issues which should have been looked into during the cleaning process. - Lights across the kitchen and living area did not work - Greasy surface across the kitchen counters and floors - Dishwasher available but no dishwasher tablets -One of baking trays had previous food stains still on the tray which I had to deep clean - Oven was filthy - Dead bluebottles in the bedroom and bathroom floor upon arrival - Dead bluebottles in bedroom lamp shade above the bed - Bluebottles flying around the kitchen and living room - No information on how to use hob/ oven/ microwave. Hope this review is taken into consideration as we will probably not visit the retreat again unless these actions are looked into further- I have emailed my concerns over but still haven’t received a response

This was our 8th visit to Thanet Well so, as you can see, we are very happy with the place. Weve generally stayed in the elonby 2 units which are always immaculately presented. Weve stayed, also, in the elonby 1 unit which is a superb unit, luxurious with lovely views over the fells. This time we got a deal on the elonby 2 premier, once again the property more than matched the luxury standard that weve got used to. The addition of the hot tub was excellent and we were impressed with how diligently the staff tended to its water condition on a daily basis. I want to talk more about the staff, on site. first a word for the housekeeping team, which is a private contractor, theyre first class and every unit weve been in we have always found immaculately spotless. The rest of the staff, weve come across, on site, are an absolute credit to their employer. always friendly, always efficient and just dead nice people to deal with. We already have 3 more breaks booked for this year the next one in March and cant wait to get back.
