Visted here a few times as we were staying in a nearby cottage, its a lovely pub and staff are really nice and friendly, we ate from here a few times and food is lovely, recommend the fish and chips and the scampi, they also provide a takeaway service with pizza and fish and chips on the menu which we...

Had dinner here tonight. Pub has a nice, welcoming, but little dated atmosphere. There were a few people present at the bar, but the dining area was not very busy. We came in at about 7.45pm. We got our menu's at the bar and took our seats. We ordered soup of the day, steak and chicken. Food was very tasty...

We visited the Old Kings Head several times during our holiday in Broughton. We were going to try to the other pubs in the town, but after a few drinks here decided not to bother. Although we didn't have a meal here, I did try one of the desserts after a long day of walking, and it was superb. The...

1 Meat platter and 1 Beer Battered Cod and chips. Anywhere that gives a decent amount of olives, sundried tomatoes AND pickled walnuts has to care about food. The salad dressing has the right balance piquancy and a good selection of meats. Cod and chips, some people think omelettes are the challenge, for me it's fish and chips. Excellent fish...

The staff here are lovely, the beers is great and there is plenty on the menu to choose from. The bar has a friendly village feel. It isn't a pub for posers, more a pub for ordinary Joes wanting a pint or a no fuss meal. Our food was freshly cooked by a proper chef. Good old fashioned pub food....

After being closed for too long until the end of 2016, this Inn is open and is returning to its former glory. The real ales are excellent, the pub food is well prepared & presented. Highly recommended for everyone, individuals, couples and families with children - all will enjoy the Old Kings Head and agree that they have found excellence...

Broughton for our final night of a week long trek of the Lakes. Arrived earlier than expected and greeted warmly by the Landlord and a healthy Friday lunchtime crowd. Good selection of beers (bar the absence of Sneck Lifter - shame) yet the real surprise at the Old King's Head was the evening food. We ordered the pork belly starter...

A delicious dinner on the new chef Andrew's very first night, Thursday 5th May! I hadn't ever been to this pub before and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and the absolutely gorgeous lamb shank I ordered. Very tender and beautifully cooked. My family ordered stuffed peppers which were apparently scrumptious too! Lovely open fire made the...

The present management team John and Steph have worked hard to re-vamp the place serving very nice fresh food and well kept real ale. The pub is well supported by locals and tea time crack is always a good laugh, all rooms have been upgraded to a good standard.Place is dog friendly as well. The beer garden out back is also...

Hadn't been in here for years but wanted an evening meal on a friday night at nearly 9pm and was pleasantly surprised. The landlord is new to the pub and was very hospitable. The pub had a nice relaxed and friendly atmosphere if a little quiet for a friday evening. There was a about 6 beers on offer: the 2...
