Broughton House is an absolute gem. One usually reads about places like this in romantic novels or some sort of fiction... The property itself is beautiful. It's tucked away on the side of a narrow country lane, which apparently is a problem to some guests....More

Hello there - and thank you for getting in touch. Yes, there are several local taxi firms who can take you to the racecourse, and bring you back. I have a list of their numbers, and can organise one for you, if you decide to pay me a visit in August. All the accommodation in the Cartmel area gets booked up a long time in advance, so if you do decide to visit, then I wouldn't delay in booking somewhere pronto. Hope this helps - best wishes - Cate Davies
