Stayed here on the 20th November with our friends as a treat/ thank you for them. Lovely cosy hotel, staff very friendly especially the lady that booked us in to our rooms and served us breakfast. Only disappointment was our evening meal which we had booked for 7.30pm.......we had been told the steak and ale pie was delicious so the four... More

Great value for money, located in a gorgeous small village, room was very clean and had everything you need with tv, tea and coffee facilities and ensuite bathroom and comfy double bed! Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel was excellent. Very quaint and quirky which based on the age of the building was excellent. The staff were excellent and very attentive. Nothing was too much. The room was good. Clean all was refreshed daily. Bathroom with bath as well as a shower was a bonus. The food for breakfast... More

Stayed for a couple of nights in November. Had the smallest room (Room 4). Too small for any seating, pipes were noisy in the morning - but, fortunately, not at awkward times! The room was, however, clean whilst the hotel appears well-run. Bar/restaurant area very good - decent ales on offer and a great selection of gins! Thought food prices... More

We stayed for two nights over a weekend that we booked via a Groupon. This gave us a very good deal. Location: in the centre of a tiny village. A 10 minutes drive from the sea, 30min drive from Windermere, this is a great place to stay to visit the South Lake District. Rooms: we had the pleasure to stay... More

We arrived earlier than check in time and were allowed our room. .this was a bonus as the weather was cold and miserable. We went into a lovely fire lit 'oldy worldy' bar and enjoyed a couple of drinks. We dined there on the first evening but wandered thru the gateway to a couple of other pubs and enjoyed a... More
