We stopped here for a pint on a walk around Brotherswater and Hartsop. Perfectly located for a halfway break, and the huge windows mean you can continue to enjoy the view of the hills. A friendly welcome for us and our dog, and a well-kept pint.

We stopped here for two nights and weren't disappointed. Ok other reviews pick faults with certain things, but this is a place to put your head down after enjoying the days out. The rooms are quite small and TV tiny, the en suite is tight. But I don't care. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and staff were great. The...

What a find for lunch! I had a salmon and sweet potato gratin with steamed carrots and kale on the side. Wow. Ate half of it before I remembered to take a photo. Just alongside the road. It is apparently an inn also and campground and trailhead. Plenty of parking.

Good food after a days walking. Service didn't start till 6pm so enjoyed the views over the fells with a drink. Parked at the pub for the day to go walking for £2.50, excellent location for a number of walks. Food was good with decent portions.

We were on a walk round Brotherswater from Hartsop, the bar is about half way round. We called in for refreshments. The bar was a typical Lakeland Bar, service was good and the ale was well kept, perfect! Nice big windows and an outdoor area to soak up the scene as you sip.

Just returned from camping last weekend. What a view! It was a bit rainy at times but we still enjoyed ourselves. Gary the warden showed us a good spot to go. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. We arrived quite late so pitched in the dark, but it stunning to see the mountains in the morning....

We decided to go camping in the Lake District this year on holiday and we chose this site as it was the best price for the location. It is within driving distance of Windermere, bowness, Ambleside and Kendal and within an hour of Penrith. The campsite is a nice size, we arrived mid afternoon and pitched out of the way...

We stayed here in August for two nights and what a delightful stay. The Inn is located in a valley in Brotherswater and was a great escape from the frenzy of city life. It offers great traditional but comfortable rooms which I think had been recently refurbished. The prices were reasonable. The menu was ok (could maybe offer a bit...
