Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the most amazing B&B, with stunning views in every direction. The hosts Adam and Julia are just fabulous, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are to die for. Plenty of walks from the doorstep and when you get back to the B&B very comfy lounge to relax in before settling down for the night in spacious bedrooms. A real gem in the lakes.

Crookabeck Bed and Breakfast offered a faultless stay of five nights. To cut a long story short I would not hesitate to recommend a vacation here and I will certainly return. The perfect hosts certainly know what they are doing; offering a high level of accommodation and food that would put many hotels, in which I have stayed, to shame. The setting is idyllic and the area of Patterdale and northern lakes is breathtaking.

The location, quality of rooms and food were outstanding. The only thing which was better, were the hosts themselves, Julia and Adam. You’re spoilt for choice with walking routes and connections too. We used both bus and ferry to get to different parts of the lakes and so easy to get to from major routes. Finally, it’s located on the out skirt of Patterdale which makes it perfect for a quiet nights sleep, clean skies for stars and moon gazing as well as an easy walk to the pubs, if needed. The b&b is licensed too, so you can have your own meal with wine or beer, or take one of the platters available at extra cost. Honestly, just a fab fab place and we will be back here. P&B.

Fantastic, beautiful, top quality, accommodation. Every last detail has been thought of to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The location is perfect. It is situated next to a footpath which is a great starting point for many hikes and walks. Julia and Adam helped me find suitable hikes, they have a good set of books on local walks. They also made sure I touched base with them before and after to check I was safe. This was my birthday trip to the Lakes and they left me a card and some vegan millionaire shortbread in my room, alongside plant milk for my tea and coffee. For supper, they provided an amazing vegan platter. And at breakfast I had a choice of a cooked vegan breakfast alongside home made granola and vegan yogurts. The combination of the quality of the accommodation, friendliness and helpfulness of Julia and Adam, plus the thoughtfulness of the provision of vegan food, has made me want to book again for next year. You won't be disappointed there. It truly was a fantastic trip.

A welcome return to Crookabeck. You won't find a warmer welcome, stunning location, comfortable clean, beautifully decorated rooms, and amazing breakfast anywhere in the lake district. We always love visiting. We will be booking again for next year early to make sure we can get a room.

The room and bathroom were beautiful, clean and had everything I needed. The view from the bedroom was of countryside. It was wonderfully quiet. Cake was provided on arrival and tea offered. There was a separate living room where I ate my evening meal platter. This was large, varied and delicious - it took me an hour to eat. Wine and beer were also offered. The owners were friendly and attentive without being too attentive. Breakfast had everything I could have wanted and I was provided with banana cake to take away. It was the best place I stayed on the Coast to Coast path. Thank you!

Perfect location with very beautifully designed accommodation. It was an ideal place for relaxation while walking my coast to coast walk. During my 15 days walk and 15 night accommodation this bed and breakfast stay was my favourite, set in the centre of dramatic Lake District mountains overlooking grazing sheep and hillside woodland. The hosts are polite and helpful, they can’t do enough for you. We ate-in that evening with a well prepared meat platter supplied by the B&B. All round first class accommodation. We’ll definitely be returning.
