A real nice pub in the tiny village of Patterdale. Good beer. Weird pictures on the walls. An area has the view toward Place Fell and you can sit here for hours and just look it. A good place to relax after your fell walk

The only pub in a nice village with wonderful surrounding scenery should be so much better than it is. The food is very much of below average standard but the prices are definitely above average for what you get and although the outside looked freshly painted it's grubby and grotty inside. Avoid if you can.

Came here for lunch after we had been kayaking on ills water lake. I had scampi and it was delicious, others had the burger, sandwich and jacket potato. Very reasonably priced. I like it in here I've been a few times and will definitely come back in the future

The rooms were very small and since there were five of us, we needed three rooms. Two of the rooms had their bathrooms located across the hall. Beds were lumpy, but surprisingly quiet for being located above the pub. The staff was friendly and helped with dinner seating and breakfast plans. Food was good.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night whilst walking the coast to Coast walk. The rooms were clean and tidy and a reasonable size. The bar had a range of decent cask ales and the food was reasonably priced and tasty. Staff were very friendly and more than welcoming with regards to our friends Border Terrier (which was doing the...

Really good pub in a beautiful location. Beer was good (2 real ales on tap and a real cider too). Pub grub was well above average, and there were 3 vegetarian options (chilli, curry, and a butternut squash, goat's cheese and beetroot burger). Friendly service.

This pub has a warm and welcoming feel about it. It was busy but everyone seemed content. There are a number of different areas of seating in this open plan pub, which gives it a cosy feel. We enjoyed our visit and hope to return when we net visit the area.

Very busy but host very helpful in showing us to accommodation and set up of the shower facilities etc. Food for dinner was tasty and what was needed for another long day in the trail. we visited here for dinner after day three of our coast to coast walk on the recommendation of my eldest son who feels their beef pie is the best (and has been back several times to road test it). The pub was busy and had a great atmosphere. We were made to feel welcome (as were our dogs) and soon...

We recently stayed in the Patterdale area and dropped into the White Lion for a lunchtime sandwich and for an evening meal. With some restaurants in Glenridding still closed the White Lion has been busy. I completely take my hat off to the team running the pub. We had supper on a very busy Friday night, but the food was...
