Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

High fold is situated in a nice quite square in the village of Troutbeck with great views of the hills and fells with ample free car parking. We were warmly greeted by Jackie who is the perfect host and will go that extra mile to make sure that you enjoy your stay. We had the Kirkstone room which was enormous with a bed to match and a seating area where you could relax. There was a fridge which had fresh milk each day along with fresh cake or biscuits. The breakfasts were plentiful and cooked fresh to order. We really enjoyed our stay with Jackie so, if you are looking for peace and quite and a comfortable stay this is the place to be. We shall definitely return again. Thank you Jackie Joyce & Jeff

Thank you Jackie for sharing your lovely home with us, we had a wonderful stay. Thank you for your kindness in allowing us to park early because we were going walking, even checking in early because our rooms were ready. We had a fabulous relaxing stay, stunning views from the terrace, lovely cake or biscuits each day, delicious breakfast, extra little touches to make our stay more comfortable were really appreciated. If you are coming to the English Lake District, you will be very lucky if you are able to stay at this exquisite B&B. The view is stunning, the air is fresh, the bed and linens were top notch, the breakfast is to die for, and Jackie, the hostess is gracious and so helpful. She puts freshly baked nibbles in your room each day. There is coffee, tea, and a small refrigerator in the room. You can have a choice for a freshly cooked breakfast, toast and jam, yogurt and fresh fruit, tea or coffee. We stayed six lovely nights in the king room up on the second floor and we could hear sheep bleating occasionally. There is a pub within walking distance which offers guests at High Fold a discount and a restaurant a mile and a half away, also with a discount. We feel blessed to have been able to stay here.

Had a lovely welcome from host Jackie. Absolutely fantastic spotlessly clean room with superb views! The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Two pubs serving lovely food within easy reach and a nice tea shop just down the road at the old post office. We will definitely return!

Amazing B&B in a perfect location for exploring the Lakes. The room was really well furnished, and a really nice touch of homemade cakes/cookies each day. Breakfast was 10/10. Would also recommend the local pub (The Mortal Man) which is within easy walking distance.

We had a wonderful time staying for two nights at High Fold Guest House. Peaceful location with beautiful views. Our room the Kirkstone on the top floor was perfect for us. Lovely spacious room with a large comfortable bed, luxurious towels and toiletries in the bathroom. Jackie is a very friendly lady who we very much enjoyed chatting too each day. Breakfast each day was absolutely delicious as was the yummy treats left in our room. We also recommend a visit to the local Post Office Cafe friendly service and delicious food.

We stayed at High Fold for 5 nights. We were looked after so well during our whole stay. Fantastic room with absolutely stunning views. Brilliant hospitality tray with tasty treats. Lovely comfortable bed....a huge size!! Breakfast was brilliant on every morning. Again, lots of local treats which were well cooked and presented. Jackie gave us loads of local tips which were very useful. We were very happy with our stay at High Fold Guest House and we hope to visit again.

High Fold Guest House not only met our expectations but totally surpassed them! The location, nestled away in the beautiful village of Troutbeck, is idyllic and very peaceful yet you are only three miles away from the hustle and bustle of Windermere. We stayed for two nights in the Applethwaite room. We were attending a wedding nearby and the location suited us perfectly. The room was very spacious and very well appointed, with furnishings and decor of a very high standard. The views are beyond stunning, even from the bathroom which has a great bath with shower. 'Pure Lakes' products are provided for use which we have encountered before and are amazingly luxurious. The bed is one of the comfiest we have ever slept in with beautiful crisp bedlinen. We slept so well! Breakfast is a delight whilst sitting looking out onto the beautiful garden and the views beyond and watching the numerous birds using the feeders. There is plenty of choice and the food is of a very high quality. Jackie could not have been a better or accommodating host and we enjoyed chatting with her on a variety of topics! We would definitely recommend/return.

The old farmhouse was perfect for our family group of ten (although there are beds for 2 more). The 3rd floor bedroom has the most space but is a little quirky, with a toilet and shower in the room itself, but fine for a couple. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a nice big table that we could all fit around. The games room offers fun should it rain. We were lucky and had a week of fine weather and went hiking just about every day. The thing I liked best was the location. A 5 minute walk along footpaths leads to a beach where you can go swimming. The water in June was cold, but once you're in it's fine. The coastal path runs close by, and the scenery is beautiful in all directions. One day we took a boat trip to Ramsey Island, from nearby St Justinian, and that was fabulous as well. All in all, we had a wonderful week here. I would add, as well, that the owner, David Parry-Jones, was very reasonable and accommodating and reasonable when we had to twice postpone our visit to the following year because of covid.

Good evening it was lovely of you to take the time to write this review but unfortunately it doesn't relate to my property; High Fold Guest House is in the Lake District. Perhaps you could double check the property code and copy the review to the correct property so that the owners benefit from your kind words. Thanks
