Heron View is a homely and timelessly decorated B&B in a beautiful, idyllic location. The room we stayed in was big and airy with an en-suite stocked with locally sourced toiletries (my favourite were the bath salts!). The entire place was spotless and Sam, the host, was unendingly helpful and provided many recommendations for the surrounding area, whether that was for pubs or walking routes or anything else. The generous breakfast with eggs from the chickens kept in their garden kept us going through our daily walks around the area. We passed four very peaceful days here - exactly what we needed!

Excellent B & B in gorgeous setting. Sam was very welcoming and we enjoyed the tea and homemade scones on arrival. Our room was very comfortable and Sam provided lots of lovely touches such as a wide choice of teas and coffee, fresh milk and a bottle of chilled water. The towels in the ensuite bathroom were luxurious as were the soaps and shower gels provided. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious.

A warm and friendly welcome with a drink, homemade scones, cream and Jam.
Lovely comfortable room upstairs with super king bed, Tv, tea, coffee or fruit tea making facilities, large en-suite bathroom which had a large bath and shower attachment and little extra items which included luxury bubble bath.
Downstairs room is available with shower.
An excellent host who served a scrumptious breakfast consisting of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and or cooked breakfast and took into account dietary and allergy needs. A fridge with soft drinks was available all the time with an honesty box.
The local pub,The Butchers Arms, was serving take out meals and drinks daily ( due to Covid restrictions ) on proper plates and asked for them to be returned. The roast dinner was gorgeous, tasty and hot.
All set within the scenic Cumbria countryside. Nature was on your doorstep with sheep roaming freely within the village, herons and the highlight of our stay was seeing red squirrels outside the window both mornings.
A relaxing, quiet and comfortable stay.
Surberb service and quality.
Would highly recommended this B & B.

A very gracious hostess, with very comfortable well stocked accommodation. A very generous and tasty breakfast. Definitely well worth the visit in a beautiful location. The location is well situated to visit several villages in Cumbria and in the Yorkshire Dales National Park

Booked Heron View for an over night stay celebrating my wife’s birthday. Owner Samantha met us at the door and offered a tea and coffee which was gratefully accepted. Sam sat with us for a chat which was nice and showed that this was no ordinary B&B experience.
We were allocated the ground floor room and it did not disappoint. Lovely king size bed, en-suite shower and toilet; the room also boasted a walk in wardrobe!! Another nice touch was the complimentary chocolates made locally by Kennedy’s. Samantha also recommended the local pub, The Butchers Arms, for an evening meal and the food there was excellent.
Next morning we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast consisting of a cooked Full English with toast and marmalade for afters and there was also cereal, fresh fruit cocktail and yogurts to choose from. All was included with the room price.
All in all an excellent choice for an overnight stay or even longer to take in the local walking areas. Heron View is immaculately clean and Sam is an excellent host.

Truly friendly welcome with brilliant full English breakfast. The bed was a very comfortable super king size with as many pillows as you could wish for.
Despite storm Ciara on Saturday night we did not hear the wind or the rain at all - in fact we were not aware of the storm till we woke up to a somewhat wider river than we had gone to bed with!
The local pub was also a delight and again the food was excellent.
Highly recommended

It was our pleasure to welcome you - I'm only sorry the weather was less than lovely for you. It's good to hear that you found our rooms a comfortable refuge. We're very pround of our breakfast and very pleased you enjoyed the hospitality of our splendid local pub, The Butcher's Arms.

Exception BnB host Sam went out of her way to make everything special. Wonderful superking comfy beds, quality towels and bedding. Peaceful location close to nature. Great stop off through the lakes traveling north. Lovely local pub nearby. Recommend this place to just wind down and relax

We booked here to break up our travelling. We were greeted by Sam like old friends with a pot of tea and home made scones on arrival in the communal sitting room. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the village green and we made ourselves at home...super king-size bed, en suite shower room and a walk in wardrobe...made me wish we had booked longer! A stroll around the village was lovely surprise for nature lovers...eels and elvers and white clawed crabs as well as fish in the river...birds nesting . After a great sleep, we enjoyed a full English breakfast before waving a cheery goodbye!

Our ensuite double room was large, soooo comfortable, great views over the gorgeous village (with a humpback bridge and river), quiet. The ensuite shower was hot and perfect. The comfort was amazing - lovely beds, bed linens and towels - all top notch. And the breakfast - oh my. Fabulous full English. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Even have their own Ordinance Survey maps of the area. A lovely comfortable lounge is available for guests too. Wonderful walks in the area and a fantastic local pub with beautiful delicious food.
