We arrived for a one night stay and we were warmly welcomed.
The room was spotlessly clean and warm. Our cases were taken to the room for us, little things like this make all the difference.
In the evening we opted for the ‘Fishy Friday’ deal - we were not disappointed a batter that was home made, so very light and hand cut chips, double dipped. Drinks were served with a smile.
At the end of the evening we received an apology that their service had not been as they expected to give as they were a member of staff down if this was their service with a member of the staff missing we did not notice, fantastic service.
The breakfast in the morning was freshly cooked to order and again we were not disappointed.
Thank you for making our last evening relaxing and preparing us well for our last day exploring the lakes.
Great value for money.

We stayed at The Bulls Head whilst visiting family in Arnside. Upon arrival we were were welcomed and shown to our room, and directions quickly given to the car park as we were unfamiliar with the area.

The room was clean and tidy, lovely comfortable bed with spare pillows. Heating was spot on and plenty of hot and cold water in the recently refurbished bathroom. The room was beautifully quiet through the night with no traffic or machinery noise as recently experienced at other hostelries.

The bar was friendly and a good selection of drinks and reasonably priced for these days.

Breakfast. Wow! The choice was amazing for an English pub and the Full English was to die for. Excellent quality, tasty, even the toast was delicious. And proper orange juice as opposed to the ubiquitous squash you find in a lot of places nowadays.

So a big cheer for The Bulls Head. We loved it and will definitely be staying again next time we visit. Thank You, Guys.

We've just got back from a 2 night stay at The Bulls Head whilst visiting friends that live in the area. All the staff are helpful and courteous. We were nervous about staying anywhere following all the Covid restrictions, but we needn't have worried, we felt very safe and reassured at all times. The Covid Policy was excellent. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. There was fresh fruit, a range of cereals, fruit juice, yoghurts, full English, toast and jams etc for breakfast and it was really nicely cooked. The bedrooms are on the top floor of the hotel up two flights of stairs so if you have limited mobility you might struggle, the barman kindly carried our case up when we arrived. The landlady and staff are working hard to build the business back up after all the lockdowns and they are doing an excellent job. Thank you to all at The Bulls Head for making our stay so enjoyable.

What a lovely pub and place to stay over I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. Me and my partner stayed here for the weekend and everything about our stay was amazing. The pub itself is extremely clean and welcoming, all staff were lovely and could not do enough for you. We had reserved a table for 6:30pm and was seated next to the little fish feature in the fire place, great touch! The menu itself is good with plenty of choice, we ordered mushroom starter with fish & chips and the home made pie. The chips themselves are worth visiting for! In the morning we had the full English breakfast again the sausages were lovely!
Staff were very competent and ensured our food was ok, the owner himself was in the pub asking all customers if their food was ok and having conversations with them. This I feel is a great personal touch as he made us feel really welcome! He recommended a few places for us to visit on our stay as we have never visited this area before.
The room was a nice size with its own toilet and shower, up to date decor and spotlessly clean! Equipped with a kettle and tea/coffee fully stocked up
Overall I have to rate our stay at 5* in all areas, we had a really great stay!
Thank you to all staff!!

Had a lovely 2 night stay here. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble. The room for 3 people was excellent, very spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The third bed was separated off and had its own television, which gave our son his own privacy. The breakfast and evenings meals were lovely and we had a great choice. Would definitely recommend staying here and we hope to return.

Horrendous experience. We called ahead on Friday afternoon and booked a table for 4 at 7pm. We arrived, there was a party of 10 in the same room and we overheard them talking about the rude staff. Anyways, we ordered some drinks at the bar, the young man behind the bar was anything but polite. He then apologised for snapping and blamed it on the heat. We then tried to order food at the bar, I was advised to go and sit down and a member of staff called Slim (this is the another of the bar staff who was tutting and puffing at customers whilst behind the bar) would be over to take our order. 15 minutes passed and I was still waiting, so I went back to the bar. I was then asked how many was in our party, and then told that they were really busy - they weren’t - and they’d rather we didn’t order any food. I was gobsmacked! I said we could wait it was fine, we didn’t have a taxi booked until 9.30, and if it would be before then we would be happy to wait. The young man then said he didn’t know if it would be, but it would just be best if we didn’t order. I have never known a business to be run so appallingly. Rude and incompetent staff, that were happy to throw money away. We ended up in No.3 the Indian next door and it was amazing. So glad we spent £100 in there and not in that fly filled, hell hole of a pub.

We stayed for 2 nights on a trip to South Lakeland. The room was very good and clean and away from the busy road which passes.
Breakfast was very good though the breakfast room was a bit dated.
Meals are served all day downstairs and are great value for money (Sunday lunch £10.95).
Staff were very friendly and we would certainly stay there again.

Staff very friendly, nothing too much trouble for them. We had a room with a double bed and 2 single beds which was a huge room. We had a three course, home cooked meals at a very reasonable price and a fab cooked breakfast the following day. We will definitely be back for another stay. Parking for this hotel is also free.

Just had a 1 night business stay at the Bulls Head.
On arrival I was shown to my room (room 5) and after dumping my bags I immediately headed to the bar for my evening meal. The menu was pub grub and I chose the gammon steak, which came with homemade chips, mushrooms, egg, pineapple tomato and garden peas. I also had a side order of homemade onion rings…..proper tasty pub grub, and I was very happy and full with it. It was a cold night, so sitting beside an open fire was nice too.

The room itself was small, but honestly, it was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities that I needed.

Breakfast the following morning was made by Wayne (the owner) and not being a big breakfast eater I just went for bacon and beans on toast (big portion), but I was offered any variation of a standard English breakfast.

Don’t expect the Hilton, but honestly I’ve stayed in countless pubs across the UK on my travels with work, and this is one that I would definitely return to.
